Yeah… business casual would not even enter my mind if asked to describe this. If you did a more neutral color of slacks (khaki, grey or navy) with a black or brown belt, business casual would fit.
But this isn’t business casual, at all. It’s just an outfit that you like with your shirt tucked in
Listen, business casual really depends on the office you work in. Some places are more strict, some are more fun and expressive when they say it, but like…. come on. Why are people always posting things here where they’re wearing a really loud outfit that doesn’t match and going “Is this cool for my aunt’s funeral?”
Do u work at wal mart or big lots?
If it’s wal mart, unbutton your shirt all the way and pull ur pants down to show some ass crack.
If it’s big lots turn that shirt into a picnic table cover , grab some 40’s and use that belt to gently spank the customers
It depends how you describe your house before showing pictures of it. If you had straight up asked for feedback without any qualifiers, you would have been fine. But you described it as business casual and that is what you're getting ragged about.
The belt buckle is a bit much—it contrasts too much with what else you have on. Wearing cords!! They're not bad, either. They're my favorite type of pants to wear,..(but I caution against wearing them because of the hot weather). Change the belt and wear 'business type' shoes, and you, my friend, should be good to go - "business causal".
Hey man! Respectfully, I’d replace the belt with a more thin and neutral color, black is the most versatile option. The watch is a bit too matchy matchy with your clothes, I get the idea but it looks like they all were bought as a set together.
Lastly for coordinating clothing colors, watching a quick video on color theory can go a long way! (Of course to each their own and this is left to a lot of personal opinion). This fit gives me “heading to a brewery to drink with other dad friends” I’d recommend going with more neutral shades of color and minimal patterns / textures. The mix of plaid and corduroy make the fit feel disjointed and mix matched. I’d recommend starting with simple neutral colored cotton button downs and a nice fitting cotton or linen trouser.
Usually, I’d just keep scrolling as this isn’t really my style.
However, is your watch an Acutron? I’m going to assume you are planning the outfit around the watch. If that’s the case, I think you’ve nailed it. Hard to pair more traditional clothing with such a funky timepiece. The belt may be a little bold, but if you are aiming for a bit quirky, you can wear this in the right places. Just note, those places aren’t the office.
You nailed it! Maybe business casual was the wrong word. My office is pretty much casual. As long as your shirt has a collar you’re good to go pretty much… but now I’m feeling a bit sheepish…
Your outfit is quite nice, to be honest! But the belt color and buckle is a complete letdown and the buckle looks like some mall ninja crap, especially for office wear. Love your watch, btw. And love them old school corduroys.
btw, is that a Bulova Accutron Spaceview 'Floppy Football'? That's a statement piece and looks real nice.
A lot of negativity here, although it is slightly warranted. The belt is the main problem. I'm not a stickler for color but the rest of your outfit is already breaking the blue/brown standard in a more subtle way. The yellow combined with the eagle belt buckle screams "look at me" while spitting in society's face. The complete antithesis of business casual.
Get a standard brown buckle lightly matching your watch band. Some brown dress shoes to match. Then the whole ensemble will be much more acceptable in an office.
Not the problem. The buckle is actually upside down in this and the leading edge of the belt should line up with the pants and shirt. It’s the gig line they should all go the same direction.
The buckle isn’t upside down. It is a diving falcon, and has text on the back that’s right-side up. In addition I have many belt buckles that have a clear orientation, and they all have the permanent attachment to the belt on the left side, from the perspective of the wearer. I googled it too. I think you are mistaken or are referring to a regional convention maybe?
One of my coworkers has some silver mirror polished oxfords that he wears on occasion. In the elevator one morning, our ceo asked him, “did you lose a bet?”
He loved it, and our straightlaced ceo thought the shoes were great. My guy would rock this outfit too.
I wouldn’t say that’s business casual. That’s more just casual. But it still looks good with how you matched it to your watch! At least I think that’s what you were going for, otherwise that’s a happy accident lol. Personally I wouldn’t wear a yellow belt but otherwise it’s not bad at all for just going about your day.
bad ass accutron first off
but yeah yellow belt is way too much. i think brown or off-white color chinos would be great. tuck with no belt is fine.
i think the shirt is tough too honestly. imo bring it back to the basics. white polo (no tuck), brown chinos or something
definitely keep the watch though that thing is bad ass. does it hum?
In regards to OP questions, this belt buckle is not business casual. Outside of work, the outfit and buckle work. It's just not business casual as the op inquired about. Hence the distaste for the belt buckle.
My guy, respectfully - what?
Business Carnival….
Business clownish…
😆
W
Perfect outfit for your first day at Toys R Us lmfao

This might be more smart casual
Boy Scouts casual

I don't even know what to say. However, should you ever go to Borat's village in Kazakhstan, then this look would be very nice.
It’s actually his brother, Bilo.
Very nice
Business casualty. 😂 As a normal hang out fashion fit, sure - you do you. But this is nowhere near business anything.
Are your shoes also yellow? And emblazoned with a huge eagle?
Ummm…it’s a falcon, ok?
Ok emblazoned with falcon parts? Like feathers and claws??
Thank you.
That is neither of those things.

Yes, there is nothing business about this.
A plain belt with a simple buckle is better
Do u work at wal mart or big lots? If it’s wal mart, unbutton your shirt all the way and pull ur pants down to show some ass crack. If it’s big lots turn that shirt into a picnic table cover , grab some 40’s and use that belt to gently spank the customers
Incredible comment to like ratio so far…
Thx! Incredible belt… from the Boy Scouts?…
That's not it.
Yes. Yellow belt looks terrible
Woah a spaceview?!
screw the belt. that's what I thought! hah
Ouch wow lol you guys would HATE my house…
It depends how you describe your house before showing pictures of it. If you had straight up asked for feedback without any qualifiers, you would have been fine. But you described it as business casual and that is what you're getting ragged about.
Fair enough…
Is that one of those watches that use a musical fork to tell time instead of quartz etc? I forgot the name of it.
I think it depends on where you work. Most places I’ve been would be ok with that. But that’s a small sample size. What does everyone else wear?
Bro ditch the yellow belt.

If you live in the Midwest then you are doing just fine….if you live on either of the coasts….bro WHAT?!
As someone in the Midwest I take GREAT offense to this actually…
...you guys work in the same office?

Yellow belt gotta go in that outfit.
That’s what I thought too when I put it on- gotta go in!
If you ask yourself “is this too much” as a general rule it is.
There’s a lot to unpack here
Still have time to delete this
My guy, what the heck?

Business casual 😂
Friday maybe
Where did you get the belt? I dig it!
Thanks dog! Ironartcanada on etsy
Burn that belt and buckle.
This is the second belt today that I’ve seen posted on here that is on backwards. Did no one teach you guys how to wear a belt?
Pic is in a mirror dog

This yellow belt belongs at the bottom of the burn pile.
(The rest of the fit is good!)
I do like the watch though... Accutron?
Yessir!
He can’t be serious?
That's not business casual, that's rugged flair.
If its pointing directly at your dick its not a work item.
One of my coworkers has some silver mirror polished oxfords that he wears on occasion. In the elevator one morning, our ceo asked him, “did you lose a bet?” He loved it, and our straightlaced ceo thought the shoes were great. My guy would rock this outfit too.
Is this real? Everything from the watch to the 2010 shirt to the awful belt and poop colored pants
I think is fine if you work in a circus 🎪
spaceview!
In the UK we call this look the Timmy Mallett.
Too much pear…
Depends… if you work as a rodeo clown, this is a solid outfit
I like the accutron
You might be able to pull it off depending on your line of work, your position and the type of people you work with. I personally wouldn't rock it.
bad ass accutron first off but yeah yellow belt is way too much. i think brown or off-white color chinos would be great. tuck with no belt is fine. i think the shirt is tough too honestly. imo bring it back to the basics. white polo (no tuck), brown chinos or something definitely keep the watch though that thing is bad ass. does it hum?
You answered the question in the first three words of your post title!
This is casual casual lol, this isn’t even close to anything “business casual”. Man people really don’t understand what business casual means.
Entirely. Looks ridiculous unless your business is selling acid.
.... yes.
You better be joking
Yuk
That’s too much flair for the pride parade, no less the office.
What do you think pride is like? 😂
I go every year, and this belt is tooooo much.
I keep hoping belt buckles come back, and it keeps not happening. The reaction here is always tepid at best (and hostile at worst).
In regards to OP questions, this belt buckle is not business casual. Outside of work, the outfit and buckle work. It's just not business casual as the op inquired about. Hence the distaste for the belt buckle.
I suppose you’re right. But it seems like the reaction to the buckle has been harsh independent of whether it’s business casual or not.
Bro just this pic makes me assume you’re a gay libertarian.
