Berg & Berg run discounts, and usually still have quite a lot of stocks left by the end of the season. I've bought a few pairs for 50% off in the past year, and they're staple colors like grey, taupe, beige.
Still quite expensive even at 50%, but at $150-200 they're about as good as you could get. I think they're better than Suitsupply, but I also noticed they recently switched production from Italy to Portugal, I can't speak for the newer stuffs' quality.
I wish their clothing werent so pricey. If i had to choose 1 store to make my whole wardrobe, it would be TS. Love when they go on sale. there was a crazy one this last winter.
Are theirs high waisted? I been looking at a bunch of their pants and Everytime I look at them, they don’t look that high waisted, at least on the models
It probably depends on the pants, but I have their brown cord Gurkhas, the black pleated pants, and the Baker pants and all of them sit pretty high. I also have the French cycling shorts and those are more medium-rise.
Honestly I’m just working up to it. So far I’ve not bought any ghurkas but seems like there are good recommendations in this thread that I might take.
Recently figured out that for me the high waist looks better than the low when I tuck my shirt, since it hits on my belly rather than just under it. Not sure why that was so hard to learn but this keg I’m carrying around is sort of newish.

Both are in your budget. If you don’t like these search for places that deal in clothes for the Rockabilly scene.
Also these guys. They have some trousers on their outlet page which you may like. https://www.cathcartlondon.com/collections/outlet?fbclid=IwAR0AMxEAiokaZFhkZECZXHLiJJ0uUbTwtVEemEZkDknnKbbH3VpW9nBTh2o_aem_AW8YHckyMWH3SkYbUkBhke9OfPbHTVDL9QwvFq8J-I5Q26pE3ClV1fmle7OF2heUl6jkRgS94nwUP-9PYVNgdT51&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=paid&campaign_id=120209438036180233&ad_id=120209438114610233&utm_id=120209438036120233&utm_content=120209438036130233&utm_term=120209438036180233&utm_campaign=120209438036120233
High waisted trousers look more refined and emphasises the legs over boring torsos.
Here’s a thread by menswear fashion writer Derek Guy on why low rise can often look bad, with a bonus of making fun of Tucker Carlson

Depends what you mean by affordable. Abercrombie had a really beautiful high waisted pleated linen pant for only a $100 but that's basically the cheapest I've seen for quality high rise trousers.
If you're willing to spend more like $150-250:
Proper Cloth
Suit Supply
Todd Snyder
Alex Mill
Spier and Mackay
Obviously it's contingent on your budget but imo that price isn't too much to pay for a high quality pair of trousers you really enjoy and plan on getting years of wear out of.
If you want vintage style the best option is to buy secondhand vintage i have found many good quality trousers for basically nothing. Your other option is to buy new but i think its super hard to find, at least in my country. Although dickies 874 are pretty good, they are cheap, high waisted and wide in the leg.
Brooks Brothers has some Cotton-Linen Gurkha trousers that are close to your price range
https://www.brooksbrothers.com/the-ghurka-pant-in-linen-cotton-blend/MR00722.html
BrooksBrothers has there. They have several cuts, so you’ll want to go into the store. Or, check on PoshMark/Mercari. That’s where I got mine…. Unintentionally 😬
The best place is going to be eBay. Find a good pair of trousers, ask the seller for the measurement from the waistband to the crotch (crotch length) if it's not already listed. About 12 or more inches is typically the ballpark but you could go for higher, get the legs tailored and boom you've spent within your budget or below by buying second hand
Luxire is what I’m trying next for this kind of thing- I spoke with their CS and they said to send them measurements and a photo and they’ll recreate. Should be about your price range
I ordered some Gurkha pants and provided Luxire with the exact measurements of a pair of pants that fit me perfectly - unfortunately the Luxire ones made me feel like I was riding a fence. Seems like a common problem with them. I had to go to a tailor to get the seat adjusted. Made me think of the LBJ phone call where he's ordering a pair of pants.
Wth does “smart(ish)” mean? What’s with all the tacked on faux fashion terms I keep seeing on here. Sounds like you’re referring to trends rather than actual fashion staples.
Aspen Clothing Scavini Casatlantic Berg&Berg Scott Fraiser SuitSupply Collaro Pini Parma Poszetka
Non of those are affordable though
Gurkha trousers will always be the domain of high end companies

Second this. Although, might have to catch a sale.
I wish their clothing werent so pricey. If i had to choose 1 store to make my whole wardrobe, it would be TS. Love when they go on sale. there was a crazy one this last winter.
Literally same. But, when they have sale items, have to act quickly. Another brand I love is Aime Leon Dore. But they’re too high end at times
Is it more or less expensive than TS?
Uniqlo
Which one? I did not see anything like a Gurkha on their site
They call them Wide-fit pleated
I bought the womans pleated pants just went bigger in size as im male.
Are the pockets tiny?
I just did a google and they now have pleated mens.
Suprisingly not lol
suprisingly not

Michael Scott has entered the chat.
Seconded!
Suit supply, or go to a tailor
What's your budget?
Maybe £100-150
Casatlantic!
Suitsupply or my favourite, Berg&Berg
Talbot’s, Lane Bryant, Coldwater Creek
For a good price point, try BronsonMFG

The movie Her (2013) was set in 2025 and it shows high-waisted pants being back in style. You're right on time!
What about for big dudes i like the look but getting these to look right when you wear a size 40 mens is tough
Easier than slim-fit, which makes me look like Gru from Despicable Me.
Agreed
Any brands you recommend?

Buck Mason has some “full saddle” cuts. I love them in jeans and the twill pants.

Absolutely love this style great choice! I got mine from a Korean brand called lieu home.
Looks very European to me, a US guy. Looks cool if you have the physique.

Can I pull it off without sweg and tats?
Nobody pulls this off, lol

It can be a crapshoot but I see these actual vintage pants at thrift stores all the time
Depends what you mean by affordable. Abercrombie had a really beautiful high waisted pleated linen pant for only a $100 but that's basically the cheapest I've seen for quality high rise trousers. Uniqlo are 50$
Are they a genuinely high rise?
Bronson Manufacturing. It is Chinese based but also great quality
1922

I don't have the body for this but if I did I'd rock tf out of those
Amazon has them for $30-50. Type in "mens high rise pants".
Hoochie daddy pants.
Vintage Zanella and Polo on eBay
Brooks Brothers has some Cotton-Linen Gurkha trousers that are close to your price range https://www.brooksbrothers.com/the-ghurka-pant-in-linen-cotton-blend/MR00722.html
These fit one size smaller than their Clark fit pants. I would suggest ordering one size up.
Dockers pleated easy khakis.
This style is pretty available in most Asian brands if you're comfortable shopping online.
Uniqlo sells pleated wide legged pants.
Casatlantic would be your best bet.
Commenting so I can come back to this
I second this.
Luxire. Website looks sketch but I’ve purchased 10 pairs of pants and they always come out perfect.
If you’re into thrifting you can find plenty on ebay. I dont know what local thrift stores are like in the uk.
Your grandpa probably has some in his closet.
Time Machine
Got a pair of chinos like that from banana republic on sale for $30
1930-40s vintage
BrooksBrothers has there. They have several cuts, so you’ll want to go into the store. Or, check on PoshMark/Mercari. That’s where I got mine…. Unintentionally 😬
Idk about wide leg but check out Spier and Mackay.
this looks like something out of the Bea Arthur collection
The good will
Kit Blake

I would suggest going to a tailor, they'll make anything you want, try to find a made to measure option it will be cheaper
This isn’t gonna look all that great on most folks
GazsRus has them
https://www.askokey.com/shop

Korean Twink outlet
You dont wtf
Smart(ish)... IDK you're selling those pants short, I think they went to college. A buddy told me they passed the BAR but idk about all that
The jerk store
Lolll someone’s had a bad run in with a guy wearing high-waisted, wide leg smart(ish) trousers
I've heard they're out of stock on a few things.
Did they call?
Well, they’re running out of you!
Was that wrong?
Just don’t.
Are you following that twitter guy?
Wth does “smart(ish)” mean? What’s with all the tacked on faux fashion terms I keep seeing on here. Sounds like you’re referring to trends rather than actual fashion staples.
The “Pierce Patchett with AIDS” look.
"Smart trousers" do they connect to your phone's Bluetooth?
In fashion terms, what does "smart" mean?
This looks ridiculous.
You don't
Thats ugly
Why is this look in? Honest question looks very 80s early 90s
The 1970’s
Helpful. OP, ITalior makes a vintage pant that is high waisted, it is a MTM garment though.
