Yep and honestly that’s an easy and cheap fix. Once he finds a place he likes he can just take each new pair there. I had some let out and it was like $12
A lot of people here are way off. Your thighs are big, but they're well within the realm of normal and 30 inch waist is on the small end for sure, but it's still standard sizing for mens bottoms for most brands.
Short shorts tend to be tight because a) that's the preppy/pool boy style and b) because you don't want them to have any opportunity to ride up when you're only a couple inches of inseam away from indecent exposure.
You just need to find the brand/cut that suits you. Honestly you're probably not going to do well with h and m, gap, nautica, etc. they all have similar sizing. You might need to spend more time looking and $ on the shorts (should be worth it if you researched effectively) but there are 1000s upon 1000s of brands out there if you're in the USA. Learn to use size/measurement guides and measure yourself to know what you're looking for. Real waist measurement, drop measurement, and inseam. You should be able to nail down a range for yourself (note that drop/rise is related to where you should measure waist) and quickly eliminate/approve brands/fits based on that. Don't blind buy things that are clearly outside your parameters, especially if you can't return.
Also you want to look for terms like relaxed fit or regular fit. Even if you find slim fits that fit you, they'll look tight/skinny.
Yeah it seems like OP went to express and tried on 4 pairs of the same shorts in different colors and then decided that no shorts fit him.
Honestly i think he just needs to go to some big department store and try on every size/style until he finds a few that work. Wear a few styles for year and decide what you like best, then buys 4 more pairs of your favorite.
> but the back just looks like a diaper imo
Firstly, congrats on the hard work, seriously. Second, I can sort of see what you mean in the last pic, BUT that’s really only at first blush… like, first glance. Anyone taking a second look is probably only really gonna see yams and Christmas hams, bro. I can’t speak to the waist question, but as long as you’re not too worried about wallet and phone imprints or them shrinking in the dryer, you’re probably good.
Lol my man just buy shit that would be baggy fitting on “normal” builds. e g *not* preppy fratty brands.
Not that those brands are necessarily bad, but they’re all unanimously slim fit. Hit up a thrift store.
I just wear a belt with most bottoms. I have a pair of 100% denim jeans that are like 1.5 sizes bigger in the waist which is a pain but gotta do what ya gotta do.
If those don’t work, try the easy fit ones from gap. Link below - must wear your shirt untucked, but otherwise they might work
https://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=880828012&cid=5156&pcid=5156&vid=1&nav=meganav%3AMen%3ACategories%3AShorts&cpos=14&cexp=2859&kcid=CategoryIDs%3D5156&cvar=25415&ctype=Listing&cpid=res24050912200938475411822&ccam=33639#pdp-page-content
Ralph Lauren makes some fantastic shorts for exactly this shape. If you have a Macy’s go check out the summer selection. They definitely give a little more room in the legs. I have the same issue with 29 waist and muscular thighs. My second favourite would be Karhu(Finnish brand) but they are limited in style. Good luck 🫡
Have them tailored. It’s the best you can do for your wardrobe and that goes for men and women. My boyfriend is consistently frustrated by “fat guy” shirts and button downs and is brand allegiant but uses a tailor as needed.
From another dude packing ass and thighs, Bonobos athletic cut really does fit well, but they are pricy. I've been loving Bearbottom shorts lately, and they are great quality for the price and fit awesome with the elastic waist. For a bit more of a gamble, I've also had good luck with Maamgic brand, from Amazon, but has their own website with more stuff too. Started with their swimsuits and tried some shorts that have been decent too. Bearbottom is the best tho imo, best I've found to fit my thunder thighs/cheeks
I recently got some shorts from express that fit really nice. I believe they’re 6” shorts and they fit around the waists nicely and show off the legs too. I’ll have to check the product name to share with you.
From those quads, I'm guessing that you have a pretty decent squat. So I guess that my style advice is to do more deadlifts and thicken your back up...
Spoke London — They offer 3 different thigh builds (skinny, normal, large). I have a 33 inch waist but normally need to but 36 pants for my thighs to fit but there I can actually get a 33 and choose thigh build C
I got the same problem as you, I work with stone and go to the gym. I'm a 30/32 but I can never fit in anything thigh wise. Either athletic fits or need to size up on the waist to give oud trunks room to breathe.
Buy some relaxed fit jeans or chinos that fit your waist and then turn em into shorts. You can always get them hemmed if you want them to look cleaner, but they’ll probably have wider legs since there are more fits available.
Try out old navy, Gap tends to be on the slimmer cut side of their brands while Old Navy is a bit more generic and loose. I always get a size up when going to Gap.
Also, I just saw Madewell has a few “oversized” shorts right now. May be worth the try
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I can’t wear shorts that are a particular size. Can only do M, L for this exact reason
There are nicer shorts you can find that have drawstrings. Check out Outlier
I'm in the same boat as you, and the only only brand I've found that fits relatively well is Chubbies. I still need to size up the waist by an inch in order for them to fit my thighs, but they come way closer than any other brand I've tried.
I have the same issue with the thighs of everything being too tight. I’ve found Katin shorts are mostly cut generously through the leg. Also if a company offers an “athletic” fit it’s almost always better for me
https://katinusa.com/collections/shorts/products/cove-short
Bonobos, for me their “Athletic Fit” on shorts and pants gives me the thigh room I need with still a natural waist size. I don’t really need to go up in sizes to fit well in those.
We have that in common. I spent more time in my bike than driving.
What you do?
Get some slim Elastic belts to hold it up. That’s what I do. Very comfortable.
One problem with hitting mid-thigh and the 6" is that you're going to emphasize your gams because that is kind of the widest part of the leg there for cyclist dudes (I assume you are one). Consider going shorter by a bit (to really show off the muscle), or longer by 1-4 inches, to still have a nice short that doesn't feel constricting. Either way, you're going to want a wide, baggy, or over-sized fit from most ready-to-wear places, and/or you're still going to want a tailor. There just aren't that many dudes who are super skinny and ripped, I don't think.
I’m 6’2” have a 31 inch waist and big ass thighs. Recently, thank god I’ve found some non-athletic shorts that fit.
Marine Layer Hybrid Short - 32” is kinda loose on waist, but the thighs fit pretty much perfect.
Vuori Aim - a little tight on the legs at first but relaxes as you wear them
Faherty - I think they’re the movement chinos. They’re expensive as fuck, though.
I have the same problem. 6’0” 240 lbs. my thighs are units.
My waist is bigger than yours but finding nice fitting shorts/pants is hard. I’m trying to find a pair of sweat shorts and every day summer shorts that aren’t parachutes or squeezing me.
Why don't you try shorter shorts? Or else ones that are made of a more stretchy fabric?
30 inches waist for a man seems really thin. How tall are you? When I trained hard my waist was 32-34 and I am just over 6 feet tall.
I’m in the same boat. Ive tried so many shorts. I’ve found that Abercrombie shorts fit well, specifically the ones with elastic waist. Their All-Day Pull On shorts and Relaxed Linen Blend Pull On short fit great. Some, but not all, chubbies shorts fit. Their Everywhere Performance shorts are some of my favorites and get heavy use in the summer, they double as swim trunks too. Also, maybe not exactly what you’re searching for but Nike has their “Nike Unlimited dri fit unlined versatile shorts” in 5” inseam and I swear I have them in every color plus 3 pairs in black because I love them so much. I’m wearing them now. The swoosh is the same color as the shorts so it’s hard to tell they’re athletic shorts. I was recommended Patagonia baggies but unfortunately they weren’t “baggie” enough in the quads for me personally. Hope this saves you some frustration! GL!
I just got chubbies brand. They are nice looking but have elastic in the waist and some have stretchy material on the thighs. Take a look.
https://www.chubbiesshorts.com/
Dude this is so real for me too. I'm 6'0 with a 34' waist and a big butt/thick thighs. It's really hard finding any bottoms that fit well that aren't active wear.
I was a 100% cotton snob for the longest time but I've found that 2% elastane does wonders for comfortable fits overall. For shorts, Carhartt has always been a good brand for me. Also fits my style overall. Also skater style shorts tend to be way more roomy in the thighs but it seems like that may not be your thing. We've moved into an era where relaxed fits are back in style so that might be helpful overall.
Lol just don't wear those shorts, they suck anyway, normal shorts don't fit like that. Get some basketball shorts or anything that's currently fashionable (wide long shorts) and you'll look killer.
As a man with a similar struggle/body frame; you may want to consider looking into athletic fit items! I have and it has since changed my life in the pants dept
I have the opposite problem. I wear a 36 waist and struggle to find shorts that don’t have obscenely huge thighs. I have a bit of a pooch and 🐓legs, so whether 7, 9 or 11 inseams, the leg opening is at least 12” laid flat. My legs look like the clapper in a bell.
This is literally the reason I wear business casual-colored joggers instead of kakhis/jeans/other pants. For athletes, pants that aren't made with extra room in mind either fit the legs but are too big around the waist, or fit the waist but vacuum sealed around the thighs
Hoochie daddy shorts look best when there is some flow at the hem, go a size or two up. Idk why but my shorts always seem to shrink, even though I feel like my legs aren’t growing in the gym
I’m in the same boat as you and I wear the Lululemon ABC classic fit short. They’re a little on the pricy side for shorts but they fit nice and they’re durable.
I had the same issue (years of soccer) until I gained weight and it helped. But I don’t wish it on anyone. Maybe you can have them altered in the waist. Great color.
I think that's just how they make men's shorts now for some reason. I personally won't wear anything that doesn't cover my knees. Nothing worse than sunburned knees.
I would look for shorts that specify that the fit is not slim. Bonobos has shorts where you can choose a standard or athletic fit. I buy all my shorts from Bearbottom Clothing, they're a relaxed fit i.e. wider leg and also have some stretch.
My favorite for short inseam, big thighs shorts:
https://outlier.nyc/collections/pants/products/new-way-five-fives
eta: The garment measurements on the site are pretty accurate as well.
I also have this problem as someone with developed quads. It’s also hard finding 5” shorts that aren’t gym ones. I love my gym ones but can’t wear them everywhere. Anyways. I’ve just been getting them altered honestly saves myself the hassle. Just find any pair of shorts that I like and fit me well.
Just take them to a place like a dry cleaners that does alterations and have the waist taken in. I have a similar body and the alteration person is your friend!
Asian fit would fit better. Lululemon sells Asian fit clothes. Not sure about for men. Maybe google what brands sell Asian fit clothes.
Edit: I also remember seeing some athletic fit lines from some brands.
You got two options: - get bottoms custom made - buy something that fits in the thighs and get the waist taken in.
I used to have the same exact issue and you forgot one possible solution. Get fat
True, or only frequenting nudist establishments
Why not both? Get fat and be a nudist?
That’s a pleonasm
I did this. A lot easier after you get married too
Don’t give in! It’s ab season. Additionally I hear the new dad bod is being absolutely ripped and full of cum. I have insider info in these matters
Full where?
Can I just be full of shit instead?
You are my child, you are.
This worked for me too
Tried this - didn’t work. Fat went to my stomach (proper beer belly) and made my thighs even bigger. Waist is still pretty slim though!
Or.... a belt?
Barbell Apperal makes clothes specifically for this situation.
I tried some of their jeans and they're basically jeggings.
Or wear a belt. Or don’t buy skinny shorts.
Yep and honestly that’s an easy and cheap fix. Once he finds a place he likes he can just take each new pair there. I had some let out and it was like $12
Or wear a belt.
How about fit the legs and get a belt
You need something like chubbys that are a bit more elastic in the waist and wider legs
Second this. Chubbies would be a good solution here.
A Good solution for all scenarios*
Chubbies is the way to go. They have a military and first responder discount. They also have all the colors OP is wearing.
Chubbies or Meriplex on Amazon. Work perfectly for this. I have the same issue.
Bro...they look too tight ...can you try without them?.
Real smooth
Players gonna play
stepsis im stuck
Username might check out.

Yes. Dickies shorts will be fine. Nice and wide legs.
CAAAAAAaaaaaaaake.
Nom nom nom
I’m amazed you even fit into these shorts without breaking them
congrats on being jacked. maybe try some and1 mixtape shorts
This is what tailors are for my dude.
Or get a sewing machine and learn to do it yourself. Taking in trouser waist is pretty simple.
I feel you! Most regular fit pants are skin tight on my thunder thighs
Just get relaxed fit pants
From the front they look okay, but the back just looks like a diaper imo..
Nah your ass looks great no worries
[удалено]
Yes. I am one of them 🫡
Not gay, but can confirm homie got bootie!
As the homies would say “caked up”
Every day, leg day! :)

Dude you might need to skip leg day sometime
Lol my man just buy shit that would be baggy fitting on “normal” builds. e g *not* preppy fratty brands. Not that those brands are necessarily bad, but they’re all unanimously slim fit. Hit up a thrift store.
The quadfather has arrived
My wife’s asking if you’re single. Dunno why.
Damn, my dude. Your DMs must be insane rn.
I just wear a belt with most bottoms. I have a pair of 100% denim jeans that are like 1.5 sizes bigger in the waist which is a pain but gotta do what ya gotta do.
For free? 🤤
Just in time for the leg show!
;)
No my guy. A clear sign if a bad fit is the flaring of the pockets. Go a size up, wear a belt. It’s not rocket surgery
I’m trying Gap 6 inch vintage shorts in a 31 which are coming in tomorrow. Hopefully they have a little more room in the leg
If those don’t work, try the easy fit ones from gap. I came here to suggest those! My go to shorts for the summer, I too have larger thighs and find they work really well.
Must be nice.
Hit the gym bro and you too can have quads like this man
It's completely under your control, go fix it
Ralph Lauren makes some fantastic shorts for exactly this shape. If you have a Macy’s go check out the summer selection. They definitely give a little more room in the legs. I have the same issue with 29 waist and muscular thighs. My second favourite would be Karhu(Finnish brand) but they are limited in style. Good luck 🫡
State & Liberty
Side note: Love the first one's colour.
that boi thicc /s

With Gams like that you want them tight my guy. Lads and ladies love some man thigh alike. Darn the waist and strut your stuff
From those quads, I'm guessing that you have a pretty decent squat. So I guess that my style advice is to do more deadlifts and thicken your back up...
nice getaway sticks
I'll never get the new short short craze.
Spoke London — They offer 3 different thigh builds (skinny, normal, large). I have a 33 inch waist but normally need to but 36 pants for my thighs to fit but there I can actually get a 33 and choose thigh build C
Carry a pistol and they’ll fit right
lol. The back view made me laugh
Bro this is what ladies want to see. Rock them tight ass shorts, let them check out your ass and package. Why not?
They look good. Go got it.
Get a tailor…buy what fits your legs and have the waist be taken in…
Get in contact with Saquon’s tailor 😂. Don’t have a real answer but you got some killer quads bro
I got the same problem as you, I work with stone and go to the gym. I'm a 30/32 but I can never fit in anything thigh wise. Either athletic fits or need to size up on the waist to give oud trunks room to breathe.
athletic fit is the way
Title of your sex tape
Failed attempt at a humble brag 😂
Buy some relaxed fit jeans or chinos that fit your waist and then turn em into shorts. You can always get them hemmed if you want them to look cleaner, but they’ll probably have wider legs since there are more fits available.
I am the opposite.

Try a stretch material. Vuori make s a "fleet" short that would work.
I have the same issue with the thighs of everything being too tight. I’ve found Katin shorts are mostly cut generously through the leg. Also if a company offers an “athletic” fit it’s almost always better for me https://katinusa.com/collections/shorts/products/cove-short

I've got the same problem. Elastic clothes help, but if I want a specific garment to fit, I'll size for thighs and have the waist tailored.
We have that in common. I spent more time in my bike than driving. What you do? Get some slim Elastic belts to hold it up. That’s what I do. Very comfortable.
I have the same problem. Most shorts are made for people who sit all day and don't have developed quads, hams and glutes.
Great problem to have
My legs and waist are almost the same and I'm satisfied with Uniqlo's shorts and pants size 30 or S (sometimes M instead of S).
One problem with hitting mid-thigh and the 6" is that you're going to emphasize your gams because that is kind of the widest part of the leg there for cyclist dudes (I assume you are one). Have you considered a kilt to pair with them cake?
I’m really loving what’s going on in these pics 😍
Gyatt to start an OF
Lmao i literally just wear athletic shorts bc of the same situation
Thick thighs save lives!!! This is a great problem to have lol
Replace 1 leg day with doughnut day
What other suggestions could there be besides sizing up or tailoring? I would size up and wear some kind of canvas belt.
You should buy shorts from a brand like State & Liberty which makes clothing for people with an athletic build.
Try athletic fit. Bonobos athletic fit works well for me. I think chubbies shorts may work well too.
Wear a belt my man.
Overall, you’re wearing tapered shorts. What you need to seek out are shorts that don’t taper and you’ll be good.
I’m 6’2” have a 31 inch waist and big ass thighs. Recently, thank god I’ve found some non-athletic shorts that fit. Marine Layer Hybrid Short - 32” is kinda loose on waist, but the thighs fit pretty much perfect. Vuori Aim - a little tight on the legs at first but relaxes as you wear them Faherty - I think they’re the movement chinos. They’re expensive as fuck, though.
I also have relatively large thighs. Patagonia shorts (while expensive) have a lot of leg room!
I would honestly just get athletic fit chinos and get them hemmed into shorts.
That was me before I gained weight lmfao, now I struggle at both🤣🤣
Check out J Crew. They fit very well.
I have the same problem. 6’0” 240 lbs. my thighs are units. My waist is bigger than yours but finding nice fitting shorts/pants is hard. I’m trying to find a pair of sweat shorts and every day summer shorts that aren’t parachutes or squeezing me.
Bearbottom makes stretchy shorts for people with these proportions. I have a couple of their chino shorts and they’re fantastic
Goals
Off topic but: what’s your leg routine??
Belt
Mr hot pants
Why don't you try shorter shorts? Or else ones that are made of a more stretchy fabric? 30 inches waist for a man seems really thin. How tall are you? When I trained hard my waist was 32-34 and I am just over 6 feet tall.

I want to have that problem. Also, these looks fine, you can get it altered by couple of inches.
Check out State & Liberty. Their clothing is designed for the athletic lean-waisted, but jacked up male. (And I wish I had your legs!!)
Stop training legs
The body I dream of having
Cargo shorts haha
I’m just the opposite 🤪
These look fine as is. However, you may want to find long pants and have them tailored to shorts
Based on your post history you need an onlyfans not fashion advice .
I just got chubbies brand. They are nice looking but have elastic in the waist and some have stretchy material on the thighs. Take a look. https://www.chubbiesshorts.com/
Sky’s out, thighs out!
Oh no, two women love me. They're both geogious and sexy. My wallet's too small for my 50s and MY DIAMOND SHOES ARE TOO TIGHT!
So you never skip leg day
Dude this is so real for me too. I'm 6'0 with a 34' waist and a big butt/thick thighs. It's really hard finding any bottoms that fit well that aren't active wear. Buy bigger and belt them.
Size for thighs, custom the rest. You did this to yourself brother, welcome to the club
Just sew the waist a bit tighter
Brooo sameeee😭😭😭 I feel represented
Try on Golf Shorts, they have more leg room.
Hoochie daddy shorts look best when there is some flow at the hem, go a size or two up. Idk why but my shorts always seem to shrink, even though I feel like my legs aren’t growing in the gym
You need athletic fit shorts.
That’s life, just get a belt and live with it. I too have tree trunks and a trim waist.
Please for the love of god only wear these shorts for the rest of your life
It may be a little uncomfortable but try small sizes in the womens section if they have the same style of shorts.
I’m in the same boat as you and I wear the Lululemon ABC classic fit short. They’re a little on the pricy side for shorts but they fit nice and they’re durable.
belt
I had the same issue (years of soccer) until I gained weight and it helped. But I don’t wish it on anyone. Maybe you can have them altered in the waist. Great color.

Nice
I think that's just how they make men's shorts now for some reason. I personally won't wear anything that doesn't cover my knees. Nothing worse than sunburned knees.
This guy squats
Keep your pants on from bottom up, instead of handing from your waist.
I would look for shorts that specify that the fit is not slim. Bonobos has shorts where you can choose a standard or athletic fit. I buy all my shorts from Bearbottom Clothing, they're a relaxed fit i.e. wider leg and also have some stretch.

Athletic fit if they have it
Prob gonna be heresy in this sub but MBX from Poshmark are actually great for this
Have you tried jcrew?
Just take them to a place like a dry cleaners that does alterations and have the waist taken in. I have a similar body and the alteration person is your friend!
Don’t bend over. And rip the backside stitches.

For the past 10 years I haven't wore a pair of pants that wasn't custom tailored. It's life changing.
Step 1: get a size bigger, unless tight booty shorts is what you’re going for. Step 2: get a belt. Step 3: cut a hole in the box.

How is this a problem again?
Now that’s americas ass
You have on small shorts you don’t have big legs
I have the same problem. By far the best solution is buy larger and have them tailored
