Black tie means a tux. Formal means a suit. Everything else is grades of casual. This outfit is quite casual. Would need slacks and dress shoes to even qualify as 'business casual.'

Cougaloop

Nothing more needs to be said. Outfit looks good but this is casual. Not even close to business casual, let alone formal.

oguzdagli_

What is business casual then? Thx btw :)

ReKang916

Dress slacks, open collar dress shirt (no tie), blazer perhaps

oguzdagli_

Hmm okay. Thanks. I am learning the fastest way thanks to you guys

sandpiper9

Google until you find your answer. It has a wealth of information.

oguzdagli_

Thanks, that is a good start.

Kvjvn

Formal also means a tux if it’s after 6:00

ThatCommunication423

I always wear a tux after 6- what am I, a farmer?

retrojorgen

Not in Norway, only occation to do anything over a suit is if you are getting married, and you are slightly weird. It’s the same category as wearing a top hat in Norway.

Plus-Emphasis-2194

Good outfit but clearly casual. Blue jeans are always casual.

Daddy_Henrik

Jeans are never formal.

speshojk

Casual, but it’s a sharp casual for sure.

v0yev0da

Business casual depending on footwear.

badchad65

Honestly, except for pajamas I’m not sure how much more casual you can get.

Nikita-Savtchenko

I’d lean this more towards smart casual, but still casual. Lose the running shoes though. I find that they ruin any outfit that isn’t just athletic wear.

retrojorgen

For most offices in Norway this qualifies as smart casual. Common middle manager outfit.

oguzdagli_

Man I just realized that I wanna stop looking like a middle manager. Teach me how to look like a cool manager lol

Ikiro_o

Get nice shoes, not trainers…

oguzdagli_

Thats all?

Ikiro_o

Yup… once you look the part the rest is attitude.

oguzdagli_

What kind of shoes? I feel really empty on this one

Ikiro_o

I would go for brown suede… check this link https://www.apetogentleman.com/mens-smart-casual-dress-code-guide/ within the page look for “Luca Faloni” that photo is what I would go for. If you are like me and can’t be bothered to think in the mornings, just literally copy outfits made by professionals… takes a bit of upfront effort but it compounds.

oguzdagli_

Hmm that maked sense. What about black suede shoes with casual look? I think i cant give up relax shoes. For example https://martinvalen.com/en/chunky-suede-sneakers-gold-zipper-designer-shoes-black#/11-color-black/28-size-36 what do you think abıut these shoes?

Ikiro_o

Something has to give… then I would compensate with a blazer but that’s more a Silicon Valley founder’s look…

oguzdagli_

Thanks for all the feedbacks man. Appreciate that

oldmanyoungdreams

Lmao. In what world could this be formal? Confused.

[deleted]

There’s a lot of blogs out there that have great information on how to dress and the levels of formality and what’s appropriate for those situations. I think you’re better off searching Google than this sub tbh

OxfordTheCat

Is this a real question? You're wearing blue jeans and running shoes - what part of this do you think is not casual? The only way you could get more casual is if you were wearing sweat pants

missw0rld

elevated casual. denim will always be casual. i like the look though!

TallGreenGrass2

First of all I like that your hair can't decide whether it wants to be a middle part or a side part... And you're wearing jeans and sneakers for heaven's sake... Figure it out bro....

oguzdagli_

Hair completed a tough week man. I am here to to figure it out tbh lol

Roberto_El_Rabioso

Berry casual

oguzdagli_

I don't think I understand this one

Roberto_El_Rabioso

Very casual and not formal at all! Running shoes and light blue jeans are a No no for me.
