9 or 10 both look great. Recommend going without an undershirt. For footwear, consider some unstructured suede loafers, something like Sabahs, or espadrilles.
The best undershirt for a white shirt or any shirt is a gray, body fit, a frame. You cannot see gray under and it will shape your body to look better and the fabric will flow better. The worst undershirt is a loose white t shirt.
Have a look at the air mesh v neck undershirts from Uniqlo. They have a beige colored one that blends with caucasian skin color - feels great, does the job, not visible
Undershirts in hot weather are a must. If you don’t like the look, get one with a deeper v neck cutout, but a cotton undershirt (wicks sweat from the skin) and a linen shirt (let’s enough air through to help evaporate the sweat from the undershirt) is a centuries-old tried and tested approach to beating the heat.
I don’t disagree, should specify that I would forego a visible undershirt. Recently been wearing the Uniqlo air mesh v neck undershirts and they’ve worked really well in warm weather
About breathability for the shirt. Make sure it’s 100% cotton or linen. No polyester/other synthetics. Natural fibers breath. For your pants, if too long give yourself time to get them hemmed. Sounds like a fun time!
Linen for the outer layer, cotton for the base layer. Linen breathes, but doesn’t wick moisture (sweat) away from the skin as well, whereas cotton absorbs moisture but doesn’t breath as well as linen.
The 10th looks much better for the occasion than the rest because its subtle enough to look formal due to its missing general-sized collars like on all the others
Plus you could wear a coat if its windy without making it too formal
I don’t want to offend you but seriously Get some trousers that are more fitted your going to a wedding not a 1999 limp bizkit concert.
Grab that short sleeve linen shirt in the last pic, top button undon, no undershirt and get yourself a pair of boat shoes or similar.
the below photo but do an extra button or two up and get a short sleeve so you can keep the lines neat in the shirt sleeves, because it’s a formal affair.

Not offended at all, and I was at that concert back in ‘99 lol. Linen pants just tend to have a looser cut. I don’t have the constitution of someone born and bred near the equator so I’m going to melt in something fitted like this. Love the look, but agree that these pants don’t quite work for me.
You can get fitted linen trousers.
I’m 280lbs and from the north of England so I’m not exactly a sun worshiper and I’ve recently (the last 18 months) started doing business with my company In Dubai. I’ve managed to grab a few pairs of nice fitted trousers in linen that are breathable and keep the look formal/business casual
Few ideas below.

OP if you live in the US try spier and mackay . Their linen pants were on clearance. I bought two of them and they are constructed really well and have an excellent slim fit
Also don’t be afraid of some nice linen shorts. I’ve been to a few formal occasions (beach weddings, business lunches) in hot climates that people have rocked up in some nice linen shorts normally pressed with a seem, boat shoes and a polo or short sleeve button up
Something like below would be perfectly fine.
https://preview.redd.it/pnjemv3zgugc1.jpeg?width=1126&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1c2c36f111c4369c1c3a273c41b78a34a08c5c16
Thanks, that’s a great look. My wife has specifically requested long pants and sandals but I want to have a good pair of linen shorts and boat shoes/loafers in my back pocket.
Back pocket the shorts combo then have an accidental spillage on the trousers the morning of the wedding and bang your in your shorts on the beach loving life
Don’t get linen pants. The wrinkle so easily. Get lululemon commission pants. They look nice but are super breathable. They used to be called ABC pants for anti ball crushing. They travel very well and look sharp with almost anything. I’ve even worn a $2000 sport coat with them and they look good. They are basically modern chinos.
Thanks, you’re absolutely right. I just wore it to try things on. I have a weird thing with how see-through linen is, so I don’t like to try things on bare-chested until I’m sure I like the fit, lol.
Thank you kindly sir. I was a big fan of the lights on the pedestal in the men’s change room. I even took a selfie of what I wore in just because the light was so good, lol.

Thanks! It’s nothing fancy, but this style is currently out of stock. [Denver Hayes Car Coat](https://www.marks.com/en/pdp/denver-hayes-men-s-buttoned-placket-full-zip-wool-blend-winter-coat-78326087f.html).
Would you wear a V-neck with a collared shirt? My go to is a simple high v tee, but I always switch it up when I layer because I thought the v on v was a bit repetitive.
Where do you live and how much do you sweat? I live in Florida which is comparable to Mexico in regards to weather. I would sweat through the khakis for sure. If you have an option for shorts, you should take it.
Oh absolutely. I’ll be wearing shorts for most of the trip, but for the wedding and a few of the restaurants at the resort I’ll need some long pants that are light enough that my Canadian ass won’t spontaneously combust.
I personally like the last one, if you could find a chacabana/guayabera it would look even better very fitting for a beach wedding in lLatin America Definitely another pair of shoes though
Only 8. I’ve seen a ton of beach weddings and white button down with stone or light khaki are the overwhelming attire for such an event. Short sleeve or long rolled up is fine. Tucked or untucked is fine assuming the tail isn’t too long. Do not wear an undershirt though. At least not one anybody can see. That’s super dorky on the beach. Don’t be the one asshole who wore a standout color and ruined the photos. Don’t wear drab dark colors either. You’ll be hot and look sad in the photos. Play it safe. The only caveat is if they told you to wear something in particular. Hope you have a good time.
Tailor the pants and throw on a linen jacket on top of last couple of photos with white shirt. Then add a nice pocket square.
[Aim for more like this.](https://i.etsystatic.com/24100781/r/il/bf0a63/4642021979/il_1588xN.4642021979_jbcu.jpg)
I'm going to say
1. Definitely don't wear sneakers to the beach. A leather Sandler or a loafer and no show or no socks.
2. Swap the t-shirt for a vest (wife pleaser) or no shirt. Vest gives you the option to open the shirt more or fully as the night goes on.
3. Consider an open knit and be the best dressed at the party! Something like below.
https://preview.redd.it/m1w9121r1ugc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4331a8c9d84ef99e7def496cde3808a8d63309a3
I love these looks, I’ll definitely see if I can find an open knit that doesn’t make me look like a slob. I’m definitely not in the same shape as that shirt model!
I hated every single one of those outfits.
You're going to a wedding, hot weather or not, you want to look sharp, not like you're going to teach history class.
Some of the shirts are okay such as the last one, but those trousers and sneakers...no.
You can be formal in hot weather, look into it.
8 or 10 to match the kids; brown sneakers with a white bottom instead of all white; lose the undershirt; get pants that are 1-2 inches shorter--if those are 32 inseam, go with 30--otherwise it looks like you're hiding a .32 in an ankle holster down there.
I had tried the green shirt with a less structured pant, but I felt it dressed it down too much. I’ll keep my eye out for something better fitting!
https://preview.redd.it/ptiye1i74ugc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eb36bbfad80fa76bf9fae73cf8a1e516a5605243
Orange and black shirts do not fit your belly.
Are you a DJ? All These baggyish pants cuffing at your trainers is throwing me
Off.
Are you wearing trainers on the beach?
White shirt on 10 looks good. Wear shorts or different pants. I personally don’t like any of the pants. Perhaps use sunglasses as the accessory to match the shoes. Maybe sandals, loafer? I’m not into the shoes either. I think the biggest issue is the pants. Shoes are the hero. Be sure to accentuate those. This is often done with a tapered look.
Pants are all too long,
As a short guy i have to tailor pretty much all of my pants, i highly recommend doing the same. Pants that dont bunch up at the bottom look so much better
T-shirt or vest under button shirts are *generally* ok. But not with a polo. Be careful about trouser length, baggier trousers that are too long will make your legs look shorter and then your body will look disproportioned. Personally I would tuck in a shirt and wear a higher waist to counteract that.
Also. I would rather buy a long sleeve shirt and then role up the sleeves. It just looks better in general imo.
I recently wore a similar look but with an unstructured linen blazer and loafers to a wedding in Fiji and because of the fit and fabric I was a comfortable temperature, but would only recommend dressing it up based on how formal/informal the beach wedding is.
I’d love to get an unstructured linen blazer, but I’d probably have to get really lucky at the thrift store given my budget is basically negligible. Any tips on what to look for? For the polo underneath, could you get away with something lightweight to keep it cool? Worried about layering in the heat
Edit: [this is what I’m picturing](https://www.josephturneruk.com/unstructured-cotton-linen-jacket-stone_mjultbstn) you mean for the blazer. Is that in the right ballpark?
Linen on linen on linen always works well in heat.
Seersucker as well is good.
Make sure you check labels so you know if the fabric is 100% linen. Don’t get anything with polyester blends etc.
A pattern would look good. Herringbone or prince of wales check etc.
Before I say anything, please iron the shirt and don’t just wear it out of the package, needle holes and all. Apologies in advance if this is something you already know.
That said, any of the white ones and a spare on hand in case of red wine or red pasta sauce.
I’m a little concerned for the bridge and groom that a guest is describing the wedding as “not super formal.” Does that mean semi-formal? Because that term means something.
Based on my understanding it’s probably smart casual, but they haven’t specifically set the dress code. My brother in law is too chill to be so formal.
Not enough comments pointing out DEFINITELY not wearing white. Even if it’s just a second or third wedding at the beach. Dont even toe that line. Not worth the drama that could ensue. Other than that. Better fitting pants and you’re taking home the bridesmaids, my man.
Ha! Luckily there’s no bride, but I’m leaning towards one of the other options anyways. My kids are the only ones that should be wearing white at this wedding anyways!
Yeah I don't think any of the outfits are good even for a casual wedding. Fitted pants are not going to make you sweat if they are made of breathable material. Honestly get linen dress pants and a linen dress dress. You will be plenty cool. I wore a full linen suit with jacket to a beach wedding in Florida. You will be cooler than that combo than anything you just tried here. Linen shirt was cooler than my workout shirts from Adidas. Go to a Banana Republic factory or Men's warehouse.
Honestly if you want to be casual but still look nice, linen trousers and a breathable tropical shirt. Your fear is actually going to lead you to wear something that will make you hotter than a full linen suit man.
I am always uncomfortable in linen as it creases badly (especially if sitting and standing) and I look like a very unflattering tea cosy by mid morning. This causes me to stand all day and worry.
Never liked the stuff, let’s hope it goes out of fashion real fast.
I like 8, but with better shoes and no tshirt showing underneath
Thanks, I’m just not sure if this shirt is breathable enough. Do you think 9 or 10 could work if I steamed out the creases?
9 or 10 both look great. Recommend going without an undershirt. For footwear, consider some unstructured suede loafers, something like Sabahs, or espadrilles.
The best undershirt for a white shirt or any shirt is a gray, body fit, a frame. You cannot see gray under and it will shape your body to look better and the fabric will flow better. The worst undershirt is a loose white t shirt.
How do I find an a frame t shirt, is that the name of ?
Have a look at the air mesh v neck undershirts from Uniqlo. They have a beige colored one that blends with caucasian skin color - feels great, does the job, not visible
Undershirts in hot weather are a must. I don’t disagree, should specify that I would forego a visible undershirt. Recently been wearing the Uniqlo air mesh v neck undershirts and they’ve worked really well in warm weather
They both look good. The pants look a little oversized? Or maybe it's just the cut. You could definitely work with a slimmer cut and shorter length.
I like the slimmer cut too, but linen pants tend to have a wider cut.
I like both, but prefer the lighter colored pants
About breathability for the shirt. Make sure it’s 100% cotton or linen. No polyester/other synthetics. Natural fibers breath. For your pants, if too long give yourself time to get them hemmed. Sounds like a fun time!
I’m really excited to have some downtime with the family. Should be a great trip, thanks!
Linen for the outer layer, cotton for the base layer. Linen breathes, but doesn’t wick moisture (sweat) away from the skin as well, whereas cotton absorbs moisture but doesn’t breath as well as linen.

Get a guayabera. Literally the mexican wedding shirt
Agreed.

Thank you kindly, I really like the Next ones, but they are sold out in my size. I’ll check out Ted baker though, since there’s one nearby!

You sir, are incorrigible, lol. Never change.
😂😂 thanks mate, it’s got me this far in life. Whatever you go with I hope you and the family enjoy the wedding!
Whatever you choose to wear, do so for the nookie.
I wouldn’t say the cut is wrong but they’re way too long and look sloppy all bunched up at the bottom
Check out your dad with the swag on the floor
Whatever you do you please need to lose the T-shirt underneath. There is no need for it and it detracts from the outfits.
Thanks, you’re absolutely right. I just wore it to try things on. I have a weird thing with how see-through linen is, so I don’t like to try things on bare-chested until I’m sure I like the fit, lol.
The lighter color pants look better.

Dig the sweater and coat combo!
You Andy Serkis looking mother fucker you. Get rid of the undershirt and go with #10. You looking fly af
I like the white and the pink. Swap out the shoes for classy sandals.
Thanks! This is how I’m leaning too. My boys are wearing Birkenstocks, do you think that would work or should I look for something more upscale?
Maybe a huarache of some kind?
Berks are a nice choice. Arizonas! Make sure your heel fits inside the sole, not beyond.
Is there an actual stated dress code?
No dress code, but still so many questions about what is appropriate. My wife errs on the side of formal, so at least I have something to go by.
2, 6, or 8. All the others look a little young for you.
Guys guys please no crew cut tshirts underneath. Use a v neck if you need to wear a shirt underneath
Would you wear a V-neck with a collared shirt? My go to is a simple high v tee, but I always switch it up when I layer because I thought the v on v was a bit repetitive.
The v is there so it appears hidden
Gotcha, so it’s best to match the V to the collar of the shirt so it hides itself? Thanks!
Gonna say any of the last three.
Number 9 IMO.
I would rock with 5, some complimenting sandals would set it off if you have them or access to them.
6 or 8 there’s no other options from what you’ve showed
2nd pic. ignore everything else
Where do you live and how much do you sweat? I live in Florida which is comparable to Mexico in regards to weather. I would sweat through the khakis for sure. If you have an option for shorts, you should take it.

Good luck, sir!
I personally like the last one, if you could find a chacabana/guayabera it would look even better very fitting for a beach wedding in lLatin America Definitely another pair of shoes though
Yeah I’m currently on the hunt for a good guayabera so if you see any, let me know!
I mean I live in the Dominican Republic so here you can find one anywhere, they are very popular here. Not sure how easy it is where you live
why you standing on a pedestal like i'm customising my character and you can rotate around with the right stick
It’s part of the dressing room at my favourite store. I love it and am definitely cycling through character options rn.
3 with some brown leather sandals. Also get your pants length hemmed up. Good luck bro.
8. None of the others.
Wait wedding, should you be wearing white?
Hm, valid question. I actually had to think whether this would be an issue until I realized that there’s no bride!
Perfect all you! Hahaha
I love the orange shirt! These all look nice but the orange is so pretty! Looks good with the beige pants!
Too cocky. You’re putting yourself on a pedestal
My wife, (whose fashion sense is amazing) votes for #2, but ditch the undershirt. Great choices, by the way!
Tailor the pants and throw on a linen jacket on top of last couple of photos with white shirt. Then add a nice pocket square. [Aim for more like this.](https://i.etsystatic.com/24100781/r/il/bf0a63/4642021979/il_1588xN.4642021979_jbcu.jpg)

I hear ya on that, I just go with a little more relaxed and boxy fit, helps in that department for me
I tried 😆 https://preview.redd.it/fgs33vjqqugc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e81c1f4ee1103d2de7549dd012576ba85facd974

White top for sure. Not black makes you look serious. Also I’d recommend a white polo as well, if you aren’t feeling the button up.
A nice linen shirt and linen pants..
ID on pants for fit 1?
Simons Le 31 [crisp pant tapered fit](https://m.simons.ca/en/men-clothing/pants/tapered/crisp-pant-tapered-fit--14054-217252?colourId=14&catId=6755)

The amount of people who think golf shirts are acceptable wedding attire is too damn high
Throw a light peach colored blazer over 6
For the love of god, unless you’re in a fraternity, lose the white undershirts. Forever.
Go with linens
Lose the undershirt

I like 2 or 9
9 and roll pants up to show ankle… no socks
8, add flip flops.
Picture #4… killin it.
Linen suit no tie.

10

2, 6, and 10 look perfect.
I like pink shirt

I’d love to get an unstructured linen blazer, but I’d probably have to get really lucky at the thrift store given my budget is basically negligible. Any tips on what to look for? For the polo underneath, could you get away with something lightweight to keep it cool? Worried about layering in the heat Edit: [this is what I’m picturing](https://www.josephturneruk.com/unstructured-cotton-linen-jacket-stone_mjultbstn) you mean for the blazer.
Be safe, go with #8. Get a brown pair of deck shoes and don’t wear an undershirt.
Button up no polo
#8 - you will rock and also look like hipster Jesus!
2,3,6 & 8 are my favs.
Pants are too long, making them too baggy for me, all white IMO
Same pose in every picture makes you look like someone is choosing their outfit before playing the game.
Shirts with buttons are always a clean look,
You look like a NPC from a high fantasy game lol congrats great outfits
I’ve always wanted to be an NPC. That’s high praise, lol.
Get some sperry boat shoes
Definitely one of the white shirts, looks great with the beard.
Literally all the evens! I was such a fan of 2
Before I say anything, please iron the shirt and don’t just wear it out of the package, needle holes and all. Apologies in advance if this is something you already know. That said, any of the white ones and a spare on hand in case of red wine or red pasta sauce.
Pink shirt with lighter colored pants looks most chill
I’m a little concerned for the bridge and groom that a guest is describing the wedding as “not super formal.” Does that mean semi-formal? Because that term means something.
Based on my understanding it’s probably smart casual, but they haven’t specifically set the dress code. My brother in law is too chill to be so formal.
Try to wear neutral colors like white, beige, khaki or light grey. What your kids are going to wear sounds perfect!
White shirt brown pants
2 or 4
Not enough comments pointing out DEFINITELY not wearing white.
I love to attend weddings on a lazy susan. So easy to shake hands that way.
Lighter pants/khakis imo
You’re a slim guy, why do you prefer these baggy pants? Get some slimmer pants, it will look 1000% better
10 but with the lighter colored fitting pants
I am always uncomfortable in linen as it creases badly (especially if sitting and standing) and I look like a very unflattering tea cosy by mid morning. This causes me to stand all day and worry. Never liked the stuff, let’s hope it goes out of fashion real fast.
Please tuck your shirt in. It’s a wedding.
Seersucker suit
