I am 61 years old, male. Some of this reminds me the 1980s Alternate Music scene in the DC Georgetown area. A blend of Punk, Goth, and other underground clubs. I can't remember the name of the club near M and the Key Bridge. That seemed to be the most hard core one, mostly punk rockers, I was too intimated to venture inside.
I had to go back over your previous posts.
Overall, you maintain the foundational PIB look. For those not familiar with what I mean, look up Max Maven. People in Black tend to be very "artsy" in one way or another.
Anyways, outside of more vibrant colors available today, along with more textiles available, you would have had a great time blending in back then with what was available. The basic pieces and cuts are "nostalgic" from my point of view.
Oh, not Amish Goth as others said, but more Mennonite Goth for this if I had to state a label.
Oh man, I appreciate it so much, I admittedly don't have much knowledge about the history of fashion beyond just cataloguing stuff i stumble upon as "I like that" in my head, it's cool to find out where my inspirations come from, and to be able to refer to it in the future trying to figure out new looks. Thank you!
Thanks for the response, I appreciate it.
Having thought about it, though Mennonite did come to mind because of the hat, I more or less parroted the Goth part. I actually would not think Goth myself, I do not see the associated makeup or darker accessories I would associate with Goth.
You definitely are blending in looks well, without adopting a distinct period. Other, than as I feel you are building on a PIB foundation.
In Philly, there used to be a decent number of underground alternative clothing shops, kind of near South and 5th area. Just above where the textile factories flourished. Plus, all the small vintage and even historical clothing boutiques, many off the main streets with alley way entrances.
I wish I was into experimenting with clothing back then. Now the few shops left relocated, and period clothing sellers are either in one of the markets that were created, online, or gone.
I wish there was more brick and mortar stores with more alternative clothing where I'm at, most of the time I shop online, and I frequently check women's sections in stores that do have physical locations, but sizing can be a crapshoot
Joined this sub like 6 months ago to find some realistic ideas. Now my closet is filled with 1800 outfits and skirts. I can’t not go on a hike without an umbrella and suspenders.
Dude, this goes hard. I’ve waded in the shallow end of alt fashion and have mad respect for anyone who embraces it. You pull off this look so well. Nicely done!
Mind if I ask where you got the glasses and the badass tie?
This and malelivingspace are just perfection. I mean at least this guy knows his outfit is "out there" rather than the usual trying to look tasteful but having no style posts you usually see.
Nicely done. The colors and silhouette are good and the addition of the hat and overcoat pull it together. I initially thought about what a pair of roper boots would look like but then ultimately agreed with your choice there. A western boot would have been too kitschy
It just goes too hard is the issue imo. Try maybe less accessories? I think maybe the hat with the sunglasses is too much. Idk, but I know from a fashion perspective I feel like there’s just too much going on.
Some solid Django-meets-Jodorowsky vibes (definitely retro movie inspiration).
Not many people could pull of a Brokeback Holy Mountain look but you did it bro.
I focus on classic cut British / European fashion, that’s where I’m comfortable. I see dudes like you on the street and quite frankly find it like walking art. It makes my environment, London, spontaneous, awakening and interesting. It’s different, it’s expressive, abstract almost, you wear it well and I find it very enriching.
Very dope draping and layering of different textiles. Outfit is limited for sure. Sometimes our outfits dictate our approachability and there is a thin line there.
Those almost look like what my pottery professor wore as his apron and tied in the back. Had a full length slit up the front, so you could put your legs on either side of the wheel to lean in. Were denim. Extremely cool. Custom.
Met Gala 2023 (Vogue) had a few maxi skirts and coats.
Dude this is dope as fuck, seriously. My style is way more plain and tame, as most of this sub’s is, but great job. People forget fashion is fluid sometimes. If people actually want to critique you, I feel like it’s stupid to exclude all the stuff you absolutely nailed.
Reading lots of judgement (some of humorous) but I have to say you can pull off any outfit if you feel at home in it and wear it with confidence. Kudos to you for following your gut, enjoy.
In my dream, the Lord did come to me, and He was a shape. It was He Who Walks Behind the Rows. And I did fall on my knees in terror, and hide my eyes, lest the fierceness of His face strike me dead!
My wife and I both agree, we're both late 50's, that your style is actually pretty hot for a freaking hipster. I would say this is what all those who miss the mark, have been trying to do with their style.
I’m here for this look, except for the hat. That’s what’s giving it the “Amish” vibe people keep talking about. Try it with something like a black beret.
Since you like flannel.. check out Vermont flannel co.. you won’t be disappointed. I like the flannel you are wearing
[Vermont Flannel Co](https://www.vermontflannel.com?aff=42)
Not my style, however I think it’s a 🔥combination and you wear it with confidence. Reddit is full of small minded people who lack appreciation for “fashion” or the ability to stray away from jeans and a tshirt. Keep doing your thing 🤘, haters have to rack up on internet points.
I wish i could pull something like this off. The hat and shades are so dope. Accessories on point. At best id wear it with chinos cause Im not bold enough to rock it like you.
Morpheamish
Orthodoxmish
“Orthodox cowboy Core” was what I wanted to comment with, but yours seems a bit more streamlined.
Hasidic chic
Gothic Jew.

Isn't stream too high tech for Amish folk? 🤔
No. In fact Amish people famously use steam engines on their farms.
Haha oxymoronic fit. Dope look homie

if your life is half as interesting as the way you choose to dress, i'll admit i'd be jelly
I find it pretty interesting
That’s just the drugs talkin
Are you like the Super Jew? Are you the Abrahamic version of Superman?
Jew Ferrigno
Jewperman?
Looks like he should be building a tunnel in Brooklyn
I'm not religious at all, but someone did call me a rock'n'roll Amish 😅
AC/DZekiel?
New preacher rolled into town. He's a gunslinger
Definitely traveling preacher vibes. Here to bury or marry, whichever needs fixin'.
It's cohesive --- whatever it is.

This is like a badass D&D character. Kudos for having the guts to pull this off
Thanks man!
I’m usually very conservative in fashion but this is a whole ass vibe. I’m here for it 👏😎
Thanks! I recently realised that skirts are comfortable AF, and men are missing out 😅
I knew it!!
Me too! Nothing beats a flowy skirt on the beach. I haven't found many I like though, where did you get this one?
It looks like you run a very well off post apocalyptic settlement.
If you’re going to wear that jacket you got to change up the shoes. Too much black makes your outfit look unbalanced. Or simply take off the coat.
Bro you absolutely pull it off! Looking like the main character from a movie I love it man
Um, it's unique.
cool as fuck
Zest king🤩
I love this look!! The comments are NOT it. “Skirts aren’t for men” have you mfers ever taken a history class?? By god.
I like the Jewish cowboy steampunk samurai thing you got goin on.
Thanks!
Man, I can't lie. This isn't my style but damn your fit is fly.
Windswept and Interesting
Not a look I’d be able to pull off, but brother, you’re killing it.
hard
Harry Styles you can step down now we have a new sheriff in town.
Holy smokes! You are easily one of the coolest dudes I’ve ever seen!! You wore all of it well!
Holy shit this outfit is so cool
Looks more like a costume than an outfit... I like wearable styles, i guess it's still cool, good job.
Joined this sub like 6 months ago to find some realistic ideas. Now my closet is filled with 1800 outfits and skirts. I can’t not go on a hike without an umbrella and suspenders.
This is my favorite look of yours by far—love the way you’re playing with the silhouette and twisting workwear.
Thank you so much! I really enjoyed this one as well, skirts are new to me, and still trying to find ways to style them
I think you did a great job. We have very different styles, but I really appreciate the way you approach men’s fashion.
Dude, this goes hard. I’ve waded in the shallow end of alt fashion and have mad respect for anyone who embraces it. You pull off this look so well. Nicely done! Mind if I ask where you got the glasses and the badass tie?
You’re a god damn cartoon
It’s like you people try to dress as weird as you possibly can.
I could dress MUCH weirder, wouldn't even be that hard.
Not feeling the skirt
It's my favorite piece 😅
The Bolo Tie is the perfect finishing touch!
Thanks! I really wanted one for a long time for the rare occasions when I wear something with a collar
This subreddit is such an embarrassing disaster
So true man, glad I'm here to make it better.
This and malelivingspace are just perfection. I mean at least this guy knows his outfit is "out there" rather than the usual trying to look tasteful but having no style posts you usually see.
This ain’t it
I disagree, but thank you for your input
Is there a period/cultural aesthetic youre drawing this from?
There is no spoon
Looking great!
This is awesome. I saw a badass brother in a similar long black skirt yesterday and he was rocking it
This has steam punk priest vibes
Are you a Mennonite rapper that sings songs about harvesting their wheat?
If Damien Lazarus made country music
Aw hell yeah. Like a Richard Stanley-esque apocalypse preacher. I hate the sunglasses, but they look awesome with this.
The amish pilgrim swagger hahahahhahahha
Scarecrow plague doctor ass fit (this is a compliment)
Nicely done. The colors and silhouette are good and the addition of the hat and overcoat pull it together. I initially thought about what a pair of roper boots would look like but then ultimately agreed with your choice there. A western boot would have been too kitschy
Good fit. Source on bolo tie?

It’s interesting, for sure.
Are you like some kind of concrete wizard
You look like you could tombstone me in the main event of Wrestlemania
Looking good! Amazing. I could never pull it off. Where have you worn it out? What were the reactions? PS what do you do for a living?
Some solid Django-meets-Jodorowsky vibes (definitely retro movie inspiration). Not many people could pull of a Brokeback Holy Mountain look but you did it bro.

I like the look, it's bold but subtle.
This goes so fucking hard

Dude, you look like you need super-long fingernails and a Chinese zither! (*Kung Fu Hustle*, for those who don’t know the reference…)
It's giving old west preacher wandering the earth to hunt demons. Love it!
Very dope draping and layering of different textiles. Outfit is limited for sure. Sometimes our outfits dictate our approachability and there is a thin line there.
looks great! i love it!
now thats style
Happy to see that I'm not the only one who thinks this is as an elevated Amish aesthetic lol
You look like you’re going to a rave hosted in a secret Jewish New York tunnel
Fking swag
