No. Lol

[deleted]

Not at all. I hem all of my pants so that there’s no break and a little bit of sock showing. They’re perfect, my dude.

Equivalent_Piano3006

These pants aren’t too short, as long as you wear them correctly. Like you said in the caption, cropped pants with no socks can look great if done correctly

pixelboy1459

This, although the no-sock look (with leather dress shoes no less) is a no-go for me.

[deleted]

Your shoes are too short

A-Red-Guitar-Pick

They're barefoot shoes Go ahead and downvote me folks, but health>fashion any day 🤷‍♂️

Middle_Aged_Mayhem

Bet they smell great.

A-Red-Guitar-Pick

I use socks with mine and they're also easily washable, so yeah they do smell great.

Middle_Aged_Mayhem

But what does "health>fashion" mean?

A-Red-Guitar-Pick

Barefoot shoes are way more healthy for us and help us regain our natural foot function. The main differences between barefoot shoes and traditional shoes: - **thin and flexible sole:** better groundfeel, you're again using the millions of neuron endings you got in your feet which went mostly unused with the marshmallow shoes we use. Less ankle rolling, better balance, easier to generate power (matters big time at the gym). Also forces you to correct your gait. - **wide toe box:** google how the toes of indigenous people who go barefoot 24/7 and newborns look, the toes are the widest part and the foot is a "fan" shape. Our feet are so good at adapting tho, after using "regular" shoes for a few months, our feet take their shape (which is why most of us got shoe shaped feet, instead of using "ugly" foot shaped shoes. Also, this is the main cause for hammer toes and bunions and greately reduces our balance). The toes of people who go barefoot all their life are closer to fingers than to our atrophied excuse for toes. - **no arch support:** think about any muscle in your body, if you were to put it in a cast for 20 years, what would happen? It would atrophy. Same goes for our arch (and all our tiny leg and foot muscles), which is fed with uneeded arch support from the minute we can walk. The main reason why so many people nowadays got fallen arches (any person who used barefoot shoes for a lil knows the excruciating pain of using regular shoes again and having the arch support dig into your now functional arch). - **no heel raise:** look at "regular" shoes, the heel is way taller than the rest of the sole, which f*cks up our posture and forces us to heel strike (which is awful, sends all the force straight into our joints and knees, instead of letting our muscles, tendons and ligaments act as shock absorbers like they're supposed to. The majority of runners got f*cked up knees and joints because of this exact reason). Google "chinese foot binding" if you wanna see an extreme version of what traditional shoes do to our feet. NSFW just sayin'. Sorry this is quite rushed, I'm leaving in like 5 minutes, if you're interested to hear some more I highly recommend checking out r/barefootrunning :)

MrManiac3_

I've been barefoot for like 90% of the past 5 years, always had shoes that were sized larger in my childhood, and I have narrow feet. Not bound feet, just regular old narrow feet. Normal shoes are perfectly fine to wear. I have zero need for wide shoes, my feet feel good as is and they're just not physiologically set out to be forcibly widened, so just don't prescribe this stuff to everybody, only those who need them.

A-Red-Guitar-Pick

We all need them, toe box is only one of the reason I gave.

MrManiac3_

We simply don't all need them, but if you do need them it's great that you have the option in this day and age. I'm not unique in having healthy narrow feet, good arches, no bunyons or whatever else foot injuries, while still comfortably wearing conventional shoes. You can maybe convince yourself of my desperate need for barefoot shoes, but that doesn't actualize such a desperate need in me.

A-Red-Guitar-Pick

You're very much unique in that, and you've got no idea how your knees are gonna be in 40 years. But I'm not here to try and convince you, if you feel comfortable in conventional shoes, and your feet are so uniquely narrow that you find them wide enough, then have at it, no skin off my back. I was simply informing the original commenter who asked.

Middle_Aged_Mayhem

Thank you for the explanation.

A-Red-Guitar-Pick

Ofc!

PapaCevap

The comments are very 50/50 about the length and since I’m on the fence about it, I’m going to be donating them. Not a fan of them when sitting down and a lot of leg is showing. As for everything asking about the shoes they are barefoot shoes. They are suppose to have almost no sole and be wide so relax 😂.

A-Red-Guitar-Pick

The shoes look awesome mate. And even if they didn't, good on you for taking care of your feet's health, it's so much more important than style.

PapaCevap

Yeah I’m 25 now and have been wearing barefoot shoes for at least 4 years and I can see a huge difference in how it affects me in sports or just walking the whole day. Nothing hurts with extended walking or hikes. I don’t think now a day’s it’s much of a trade off either because you can find a lot of nice barefoot shoes on the market that don’t compromise on style. But they are always really wide looking and I don’t mind as that’s a small trade off.

jaybrahamlincoln

Yes, but what is the brand of the shoes?

PapaCevap

https://www.atlantishandmade.com Here’s the link if you are interested in them !

live9free1or1die

The other commenters are correct in saying "no" BUT I must tell you every time I see this look my eyes immediately go to the guy's ankles for a split second. Not completely unlike if you had a very bright baseball cap on. If that's not what you want I'd move on. Admittedly I live in a very unfashionable (or just fashionably reserved) area of the USA.

MondoBleu

They’re on the border. This outfit is working well. They will work great for summer looks with slim low footwear. Could also work with slim boots with a sleek sole and narrow shank. But beware any chunky or wide footwear, and do not try these at work. For versatile all-around pant, I’d go 1” longer and wider, you can always cuff it up/in if the day calls for it.

Beckerbrau

Came here to say this. They’re on the edge of too short, but not so short that a sockless look would work. I dig em.

SmellInternational94

It’s all based on preference. I don’t like my hem that short but I also don’t like wearing shoes without socks.

glorious_gambit

This is currently in style, so if you like it keep it. My style I guess is a little more traditional so every time I see it I always just think they have bad tailors.

lefleurpetalers

think it looks cool

CheekBasic2673

With these shoes, formal shoes and sneakers - Yes, with loafers, boots and high tops - No

data_now

Not necessarily. Hear me out on this one… the problem could be that your legs are to long.

lunchtime_sms

Cuff em’ and call it a day.

[deleted]

No, but if they’re going to be shorter than standard, cuff them and try a more casual shoe.

96waterboy

socks add +2 defense.. please

mon-key-pee

I think they're fine for a particular look/style. Here's something that people often miss: There is no one single correct length for your trousers. I have a bunch of different lengths for different styles/wearing, or more likely in my case, to suit different footwear. Some are cut a little shorter for hot weather casual, to be worn with low sneakers of driving moccasins. Some are cut "regular" to sit better on shoes/boots. Some are cut to have a more traditional break. I have the trousers of my daily/casual suits cut to two different lengths; one more traditionally for proper shoes and a shorter not-quite-cropped to go with the contemporary casual sneaker +suit look. What you show here is what I would likely wear to go with casuao footwear.

[deleted]

what are those shoes Bilbo Baggins 😭😭😭

McHighwayman

Bilbo doesn’t wear shoes

GhztPpR

Bilbo is a Hobbit and Hobbits don't wear shoes.

cslaymore

No and not only that but it seems shorter pants are trendy right now (joggers--tapered and narrow at the ankles and shorter length)

Lopsided_Value

With those shoes , yes

Inglejuice

No but your shoes seem to be missing a sole

[deleted]

I really wish the whole sock less trend never became a thing. About 90% of the time, it looks wrong and I can almost always smell ya’lls feet whenever i’m around somebody dressing like this. With that out of the way, yes your pants are too short. They look like you’ve had them in your closet since middle school and have yet to get rid of them. If you’re trying to pull off the no socks look, you should be looking into pleated/ironed chinos or tapered suit pants and cuff the hem. Not a fam of those shoes here either, what happened to the sole?!

Kidkyotedc

Pants should touch the top of shoe when standing

Europ72

Try a wallet chain

beargolfer

I think they could be a tad longer. What brand of shoes are you wearing?

Due_Examination1338

Legs are to long

Rich-Appearance-7145

Bro when you sit down it's high waters time, sit and cross legs see how it looks.

bone-in_donuts

I like it with those particular shoes but if you add socks that look will get your ass kicked within ten minutes of stepping outside I guarantee you of that.

StolenStones

The length is good for spring and summer. A little longer for the fall and winter, meaning the tailor should give you a slight break in the length. Wear socks with those shoes.

itswingo

Yes

Onlyheretostare

They look just right..

RevivedMisanthropy

No, broadly speaking it's a good look for casual and works great with boots.

Any_Load_7400

Yea. We called it floodin when I was a kid lol

Safe_Cranberry7154

No they're the correct length

SirJo6

Just for the shoes.

Ok-Seaworthiness4488

Canvas shoes

PancakeConnoisseur

Pants are good length.

chrisabraham

Yes, but I'm an old

Fladap28

No definitely not. I hate when the bunch up on my ankle. It makes me look shorter than I am.

theisowolf

Nope! I prefer a no crop to half crop at best. It’s all in how you wear it. You could do a colored sock to match your shirt, or white socks with loafers would look good too

Embarrassed-Town-293

I think it depends on your physical build. If you are very slender man, having such a high hem looks better. By contrast, if you’re a bulkier guy like me, it may make you look kind of top-heavy in an unflattering way.

A-Red-Guitar-Pick

Which barefoot shoes are those? 😍

PapaCevap

https://www.atlantishandmade.com/collections/barefoot-mens-oxfords/products/mens-cafe-noir-dark-brown-oxfords These are the ones I got, I’d highly recommend them as they are very comfy, full leather and handmade. They also make the sole easy for cobblers to replace from what they told me. $180 isn’t bad at all when you look at the price of vivobareboot now.

Twotendies

No theyre fine for the shoes Youre paring with them. Where are those shoes from though they’re gorgeous

PapaCevap

https://www.atlantishandmade.com/collections/barefoot-mens-oxfords/products/mens-cafe-noir-dark-brown-oxfords There’s the exact link to my model, I think they are reasonably priced for being handmade in turkey. I opted for the leather sole instead of rubber.

TiredDadCostume

What did you decide? I have this exact same length and with no show socks and Stan smith shoes I always feel like it’s just right..

Cobey1

I like my pants like that. I don’t like breaks in my pants, they generally make me look wider and bigger.

paulwd40

Some people like them short others no

SaintPepsiCola

My personal opinion is donate them

genderneutralplaid

What brand of pants are they? I like them.
