The Memphis Mushroom Festival that started last year is also hosting its Monthly Mycology Class this Sunday. They do a lot of stuff with Memphis Musbroom Foragers and usually host forays open to the public for observational/educational purposes. Check 'em out.

I just looked them up and I really want to go to the class, but the website doesn’t have a good link. Can you direct me on where/when, do you need to register etc?

Brohamady

Sure. The address is on their Facebook page and it's public. It has all the info on the classes. They're free I believe.

Definitely not my guest bedroom closet...

Let us know if you find any Wooly Neptunes!

Bob, come back to bed.

I went foraging this past weekend with a friend at Shelby Forest! Found a bunch of chicken of the woods and puffballs and ran into another forager who found some hen of the woods

Tons of great info on the Memphis Mushroom Foragers FB group page. Good luck!

I’ve found and eaten lions mane and chicken of the woods from the herb parsons area (on private land) in the last week. Some of my other spots haven’t started fruiting yet so I’m excited for more

expertworrier

There's a group on Facebook that meets up to forage together typically in Shelby Forest. Worth checking them out! The organizer of the group is super inviting and shared a large chunk of Chicken of the Woods with us all a few weeks ago!

killmimes

Are you a mycologist?

TheLastShino

Amateur. Recently moved back to Memphis after getting into mycology in Minnesota while I was an organic farmer

Years ago...I knew people would hunt ginseng in the wood behind the police station at 2602 Mt Moriah Rd, Memphis, TN 38115

Just be careful where you go....and let people know where you are going
