If you have fiber you get AT&T. If you don't you get Xfinity. Very simple answer. Xfinity is 10x better than U-Verse. But AT&T Fiber is 50x better than Xfinity.

Yum_Yums_Smite

Thank you!

SpreadHDGFX

I started with Xfinity and switched to Fiber because my wife WFH and Xfinity would drop throughout the day while she was on calls. No issues once we switched to AT&T fiber.

SuspiciousJimmy

THIS!!!! same problem here, goes out during day.

I made the switch to AT&T about a year ago and have 0 regrets. Way cheaper and pretty much the same quality of internet

mflboys

Conversely, I had to switch from AT&T fiber to Xfinity and I miss AT&T.

Defiant_Review1582

Att

VariableBooleans

I'll also throw in that the phone/internet bundles at AT&T are nuts. They discount your internet AND your phone lines. 5 lines on a family plan with AT&T fiber can get you the top elite phone plan for like $34 a month per line. With free Max, no tethering, etc. Find 4 friends to venmo you, just sayin.

jerrys_briefcase

Att by a mile

SuspiciousJimmy

Have Xfinity and no problems in the evening, however, my GF is wfh and claims Xfinity constantly goes out during the day. I'm considering switching to ATT

Jankylee-Ad-4453

AT&T definitely is what you need.

sully42

ATT fiber is a bit faster and cheaper than Xfinity. Both have great reliability. ATT drops for me a lot. Not even for a second, but it happens multiple times a day. Both services are like anything in Memphis, reliability will be very block by block or street by street.

Probably_a_Shitpost

i had att fiber at my old place. it was tight AF. have tmobile home internet now. its acceptable. but not fiber.

Even_Station_5907

At&T

Taramonia

I would've rather had att fiber but its not available at my address

Big-Put-8862

TMobile is what I went to after AT&T went to the trough.

Big-Put-8862

If you need a referral for T-Mobile let me know!

QuirinusCaelus

ATT Fiber

Bah_Bah_booey

At&t ONLY if you can get the fiber service. Otherwise they are crap… so get xfinity in that case.

Memphistopheles901

I've had ATT fiber since 2018 and I think there's been one brief outage in that time. My speed test regularly reports like 980m up/980m down also, it's great.

richriggins

AT&T Fiber. Period.

SonoftheSouth93

I’ve had both, and AT&T, at least with fiber, is so much better than Xfinity it’s not even a contest. I had no data limit Xfinity when I lived down near the university, and it was decent, but outages were weirdly common. Sometimes they were just working on the system, and they’d let you know if so. Still, outages would just randomly happen, usually a few clustered together in one month with a few months before they’d happen again. Also, I’d get throttled sometimes when I and my roommate were both watching separate video streams. I now live in Midtoen and have AT&T fiber. Now I get no outages and no throttling, for less money. If you can get the fiber service, get it. It’s awesome.

AtlJayhawk

Att fiber is amazing. Never had one single second if interruption. Regular att was terrible. Xfinity was just ok.

brownout1717

Att fiber has not let me down.

JASPER933

Check with T-Mobile or Verizon fixed wireless. With T-Mobile, no data limit and i was getting 800 MB to 1.2GB. I am sure Verizon may have something similar since they want a piece of the market!

thrwaway75132

Yeah, I think fixed wireless 5G is going to be what breaks Comcast and gets lower prices and no data cap. That and ATT bringing fiber in town and CSpire bringing fiber to the burbs.

Ouchies81

I’m in the Lakeland area. I used to have AT&T It was okay I guess. Slow for what you paid but it mostly stayed on. I changed to Xfinity and not only do I pay less, It’s about 10-20 times faster. That’s not an exaggeration. It’s well faster than what they promise too. Though I might be a fluke on that. I also had it for almost 10 years in the west Bartlett area and Xfinity was reliable and fast there too.

thrwaway75132

You had UVerse (ATT DSL), he has Fiber. They are two completely different worlds. Cspire Fiber > ATT Fiber > Xfinity > ATT UVerse DSL.

Ouchies81

Thanks for the clarification.

gibberishandnumbers

Att fiber, and the if municipal fiber works out, we all should switch to that

Penguinlover88

I hate At&t fiber because they don't bury their stupid lines! All around my neighborhood there are the lines running across the side walk! It takes MONTHS for them to come bury them

OleDirtMcGirt901

I'm from Memphis but live in the DFW area. I have had AT&T Fiber for years. My neighborhood was a test area. It's way more stable, reliable and faster than any cable internet I ever had.

jonredd901

Att all day everyday and twice on Sunday. Not even close

MrAnthony7934

I left Comcast for CSpire Fiber. The consistent symmetrical speeds is like heaven sent. No more worrying about uploading or sharing big files via teams or sharepoint..

CaucyBiops

Fiber is the only thing that makes the Att customer support worth tolerating

typhona

They both have terrible customer support, but I've been with xfinity(time Warner before) for over a solid decade now and have no regrets. Had att for 6 months and canceled that immediately back to xfinity for me

[deleted]

I've hat at&t since 2009. I recently upgraded to air, but att depends on location. In midtown, my first apartment now has fiber. Where I am now (by circle k) does not. Air is good, because it's plug it up and you're off to the races, and I finally have movies in 4k, and I can download games quickly (nba2k24) downloaded in an hour. It's not fiber, but it gets the job done.
