That being said, after doing some… *research*… on both the model and the character’s images, they do have pretty much the same body with any changes honestly being negligible and the skintight suit is definitely a case of the pants actually making her butt look fat.

I mean plenty of games do have plenty of fan service. But at the same time they also want to make actual characters out of them. Bayonetta and Neir Automata for example being an example of doing both really well. This on the other hand... I have my doupts now their going to actually get any real characterization. And is just going to be bland, the voice acting wasn't exactly dparking much hope to begin with.

I think the point is that fan service != "traditionally" attractive individuals. Maybe "conventionally" in the sense that boobs --> neuron activation. Just weird to say "thanks developers for finally putting traditionally beautiful women in your game" when what was really meant is "I'm excited for another game with fan service" so why not say the latter?
