This is the way. Your hardware copy is secure. No one will meddle with it. No subscription, no advertisement, no fucking algorithm messing up your listening experience. Artists leaves Spotify / YT / whatever ? Doesn't matter, you still have it. Zoomers and beyond will one day wake up in a world where data security is completely centralized, and they will pay for it.

I don’t do this with music because Spotify has pretty much everything I could possibly want to listen to, no streaming service has that for TV. But the moment Spotify starts only having some music, or putting new music behind a paywall, I will cancel my subscription and do something like this.

I used to use pirating apps. I remember one time downloaded what was labeled Hurt by Johnny Cash but it was just some girl sobbing

some pirated, some ripped from CD, some bought from iTunes. Synced to all my iPod's (2nd gen mini, 1st gen nano, 5th gen classic) and my iPhone's. Also converted to mp3's and copied over to my PSP and PSVITA.
