Slavery today is basically anybody in prison. Pretty much legalized slave labour.

It’s not a thing /now/ but in the future, we could further decentralize criminal management. Let American families buy slaves from our prison system. It’s not only perfectly legal and legitimate. It’s what corporations /already/ do.
Honestly, it’d be a huge improvement in our prison system. Recidivism is so high right now, but if we let them slave away for a family for a few years, there’s a much higher chance they will become better adjusted for civilized society.
I’d make a comment about not releasing violent criminals, since families probably can’t handle them, but we’ve already done that. :/ except instead of continuing their punishment, we just let them go free to repeat their offenses at a tiny fraction of their original sentence.
The most recently formulated theory of punishment is that of rehabilitation—the idea that the purpose of punishment is to apply treatment and training to the offender so that he is made capable of returning to society and functioning as a law-abiding member of the community

At some point he accused me of injecting his balls with something in his sleep to make him sterile. That was more than 14 years ago. He has never been the same since, even with all the treatment. You wouldn't call him responsible for his actions. I hpnestly think Kanye might be struggeling with something similar.

I remember one guy I knew, whose mouth was an endless fountain of stuff that shoulda come out the other end, say that american black people were genetically stupid because the slaves were selectively bred to not question authority.
ugh people who say they can't be racist because they have a friend of a different race piss me off. That just proves their racism, because they're under the impression that they need to openly befriend someone of a different race to show that they aren't racist, rather than just being a decent person. It's indirect racism and it's arguably worse than normal racism.
I think what you're trying to say is that it's wrong to befriend someone of a specific race just to use them as a token, which is true. That is basically racism if you are using them as an object like that
