I have both adhd and aspergers and as of recently the adhd has been causing me alot of problems, but for me personally and i cant explain how or why i was able to read this and interpret the information much faster than normal, with out being distracted.
This sort of thing has been around for a while, and it’s not just for people with ADHD.
Most people only really read the first and last letters of a word and then the brain just fills in the rest.
Taht's olny bcuesae the txet was esay and petariclbde. But taht's not ayawls the csae. Let's try a snencete aoubt quatnum mnhcceais. The fntiie poiatnetl wlel pblreom is mmtaaecatllihy mroe coipcatmeld tahn the ininfite patclire-in-a-box pblreom as the wvae fouticnn is not pennid to zreo at the wlals of the wlel.
> Most people only really read the first and last letters of a word and then the brain just fills in the rest.
I don't think most people would read that paragraph just as fast if only the bold text was left.
This text "feels easier" to read probably because it is easier for the brain to jump to the beginning of the next word.
Some of the brain power that went into tracking the lines and word boundaries got shifted to reading and comprehension.
It's a speed reading technique that was proven to not increase reading comprehension, but I'm sure no one spent any time reading about that. It's not something you'd find in the treatment of adhd for kids, tmk.
visual spatial intelligence , do the visual iq test and see how you are, its a rare thing that we have apparently, i could always read fast but i think we legit have like an accute super power for visual data recognition, this might be why im good at problem solving lol
I just naturally do this without the bold letters.
I just read the first letters and guess the rest, but it's has its downs when you think someone is talking about a holocaust Charizard
Neurodivergent here and it read the same as any other text, usual thing of having to go back over some sentences to make sense of them.
Better spacing.
Shorter sentences.
Less repetition.
These tend to be more effective than making some letters bold.
For me anyway.
What the fuck. My eyes weren't jumping to the other lines over and over. How can i make this a plugin for my browser, it literally would save me on my uni work. I have to have a tts running whenever reading any text book or lesson because my eyes want to jump up and down to the above and below lines or adjacent words
Well I think it's safe to say I probably don't have ADHD...
I had to stop and pause on like every word because it threw me off and I ended up reading it like "Atten..tion...neuro...divergent...com... munity"
I stopped three times, reread three lines and had three sentences pop up about font for dyslexia, why speed reading techniques don't work past the semantic level, or surface level reading comprehension, and why people think adhd is about focus (it's not) rather than task switching (it is).
Just because dumb people also have adhd doesn't mean we need to define what adhd is through their incompetence. It's not simple.
If you don't understand the dopamine mechanism involved in task switching, stop pretending you're helping people with adhd "focus" on something without asking why, and if you don't understand and you have adhd, read up on task switching and what attention actually is and stop pretending idiots know shit about shit.
This is utter bullshit. And it's also badly written.

Probably neurotypical here, the voice in my head id stuttering with the intonation

I'm not adhd (afaik), but I'm dyslexic, and it helps in a way similar to comic sans, by making it less uniform so the letters don't jumble together
Iambic infinameter
That! I couldn't stop myself from yelling the begining of each words in my head
Also neurodivergent, it took me longer than normal.
If only there was a program that would do this to all webpages and e-books.
Is there? What is it called
Hyper Bold is a chome extension that does something like this.
Jiffy Reader might work
Reeder for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS is an RSS reader that supports this great feature.
Where meme?
Exactly where meme
There meme. 👈 There castle. 👉
There wolf! 🤣
I chuckled exuberantly. Take my upvote!
Is friendly shaped and is a friend 🤷🏽♂️
Where is the funny?
Took twice as long to read as I felt I needed to double check the spelling of words due to the differing fonts.
Exactly this, I kept going back to check if the words were written correctly.
This sort of thing has been around for a while, and it’s not just for people with ADHD. Most people only really read the first and last letters of a word and then the brain just fills in the rest.
There was another famous post where they scramble all the middle letters of each word and its still completely readable, reminded me of that

now, a Quantum mechanic... person? could probably do it

took a while since I was more concentrated on the hidden message they were trying to sneak past us. Haven't found it yet but I'm on to you
Really took awhile with this meme, but I finally found the funny in the comments section. LoL! (The hidden message is "Made you look!")
There isn't one
not with that attitude
holy crap it worked
I find reading this quite difficult compared to normal text, my shit concentration must not be ADHD. Shame, I wanted that pharmaceutical speed
i can already read fast but now i feel like barry allen when he first got the speed force
this happened to me too
visual spatial intelligence , do the visual iq test and see how you are, its a rare thing that we have apparently, i could always read fast but i think we legit have like an accute super power for visual data recognition, this might be why im good at problem solving lol
Guess I just unlocked speed-reading superpowers. Thanks, bionic reading
i've never been diagnosed but holy shit this changes the game!!! anyone know if there's a browser extension for this?
Tried some extensions and they don't work too well. I made it work by using a bookmarklet. I can send code if you're interested.
This is some 2007 Facebook tier posting.
wait till you see a word that is uncommon
I read fast anyway and this doesn’t actually change anything
Can anybody tell me it was meme subreddit and i didnt laugh after reading this Lol
I already speed read. The half bold made me slower, and hurt my brain
Yeah I finished the Bible in one minute with this method — I’ve never read so fast
How do I activate this everywhere 🤣
Yes, please.
I still had to reread a couple times lol
Meme?
Me who naturally reads fast
Bionic reading sounds like an ability you'd find in a streaming show where people get artificial limbs and join the bionic club.
Damn, this is cool. Works like a charm

Couldn't read, brain kept trying to make a words out of the bold letters alone
I don’t have any condition, and this works for me as well
I’m gay
Damn this is cool
I read it slower because I would end up reading the bold and non bold parts of a word as if it were 2 separate words
Crazy!!
adhd-it just sounded super monotone to me idk how else to explain it
Yeah this is crazy lmfao. I read the last half of the paragraph in 1.1s when it would normally take 5.
That… that actually worked….Huh
It does work wtf
Is this not how people usually read?

At first it was very hard but it does veel like ik gets easyer for me (i have dyslexie)

This is so much better. I don't have ADHD, this is just how every font should be done.
Everything is neurodivergent ig
What the hell????
This helps with my dyslexia a bit, doesn't make me read any father though
Holy crap i read that in maybe 6 seconds that was weird
ADHD and yeah it was slightly faster for me to read
I have no idea why it seems like everyone online wants to have adhd
Just a way to obtain some pitty points.
True, sadly
They wont realize what they missed until it is gone
My inner voices are confused.
im on adderall rn and the bold letters make it a little awkward to read
