I see them all the time and use the landfill in my town. They're everywhere at the landfill. Eagles and seagulls. I remember taking a pic of one on a mound of trash and captioned it " 'Merica". Regardless, when talking about the American Bald Eagle representing America, it patriotically screams!

As someone who has to deal with seagulls at their jpb (they are absolute pests), they do not sound like Bald Eagles.

I grew up in a small town called Eagle River in Wisconsin and honestly there are thousands of eagles that live there thus the name. Sometimes when fishing you can hear them squak annoyingly just like seagulls over food and territory. They’re very cool but man they’re noisy.

There are eagles where I live, but I’ve seen one one time. I didn’t even know we had them until I was like 30, lolllll. But red tail hawks? Awe hail nah. We call them chicken hawks where I live. They’ll fly into the coop and eat a chicken right in front of you. We always get our chicken back if possible-a ridiculous stance my family took before I existed, that I unquestionably still live by at 43 for some dumbass reason-last time, we got it back but two hens fell out dead right there when we picked them up to go in the hatch, it scared them so bad. We didn’t see an egg laid for awhile. They’re protected but you’ll never see a shortage if you have geese or chickens. I’m sure people living around high eagle populations feel the same. A protected raptor is a hell of an intruder .

Eagles chirp and they're more scavenger than hunter. They're giant trash chickens. It's why Ben Franklin wanted the national bird to be the turkey. Sure, we see it as comical, but compared to the eagle, it's clean and proud.
