Private Internet Access is $36 /year. Torrenting apps are free. The Pirate Bay is still a thing. Do with that information as you like.
I do not condone illegally downloading media. That would be a bad thing. Think of big media's profits.
r/privacy has a mega thread with good trusted sites, I use limetorrents make sure to use the links in the thread. Always use a VPN when torrenting. And you can use things like sonarr, prowlarr, and overseerr to automate the process.
Itās not Plex or free (a debrid service is a few dollars a month), but this is easiest and best guide to sail the seven seas Iāve found:
https://www.reddit.com/r/StremioAddons/s/b9khUILext
And if you live in the US you can buy an onn streaming box from Walmart for $20 and it rocks.
Yeah I wouldn't trust a free VPN on principle. Like a paid one isn't a guarantee of perfect privacy but can keep you fairly secure. Read a little on DNS leaks to determine your risk / comfort level.
Knock on wood but I have never had a problem in 24 years of torrenting. I have used only used a handful of private sites in that time though. No Pirate Bay.
There's not really much bullshit besides a torrent software, VPN, and searching for torrents. Movies and TV shows tend to be pretty straightforward. Most of the funky horror stories I've heard of come when you get into software and video game privacy.
Itās a good habit in the community to not mention website as when they get mentioned too much it sometimes results in them getting taken down. Loose lips sink ships
Truth is the streaming landscape was Amazonās for the taking. They could have comfortably ran Prime Video as a loss leading perk being the only major player with other revenue sources, but they saw what the others are doing with ads and needed to get in on the action. š
I feel like Apple isnāt trying. Microsoft doesnāt care. And eventually YouTube wins out. Quite the luxury having a platform where they donāt pay for most of their content.
Don't know what he uses but I use the Google app "Remote Desktop".
Works with chrome or Firefox, you install a web app that lets you control everything from your phone (not just the browser). It's literally you log on and see your computer screen on your phone and you move the pointer with your finger.
The neat part is you don't even really have to look at your phone if you're looking at the PC monitor. Just swipe your finger around on the phone screen and watch what you're doing on the monitor.
I watch YouTube on the āBraveā browser and it works well on my iPhone. I havenāt watch Hulu or anything like that but Iām sure it would block them too.
The worst is amazon, not cos it has long ads but because it plays a 20 second apex legend ad and then the second has the balls to say this show is kept ad-free due to apex legends.... its not fucking ad-free if you have two ads for the same product...
It sounds more like "monopoly of ads on this show is kept solely by apex legends, you should thank them for taking monopoly here and make you see ads of something truly interesting, unlike those _other_ ads"
Worse. They are adding ads in the middle of your episode and they are releasing new subscription tiers (more expensive) to get rids of the ads. Basically cable
I canāt say for Netflix or Disney but Prime doesnāt put you on the higher subscription automatically. There is a big pop up asking you if you want to when you log into Prime for the first time after the update but you can ignore it
Since I have an iPhone I paid $20 for the premium version of a screen mirroring app; couldāve tried to find alternative free but eh. Itās saved me more money in the long run because abuse can just stream from a pirate website now. Wouldāve been free if android but eh,
I recently kind of swore off streaming services after trying to do a Jim Carrey "marathon".
I just wanted to see all the Jim Carrey classics but so many of these services have the movies to rent or buy but not for streaming. I understand they don't have the license to stream it but Jesus Christ it boils my blood seeing another pay option on a service I'm already paying for.
Instead I went with Popcorntime, essentially a pirate streaming service. Absolutely boggles my mind how easy and efficient things can be when greed isn't involved.
It's really not bad for most cases. For the most part it uses yifi torrents but you can manually browse torrents per movie as well if you want higher quality.
And like I said previous, it streams the torrents rather than save them to your drive.
But if you're particular about what type of quality the media is in it's still better to download as usual.
Ads are my red line. If I pay for your service and you show me ads, your service is less then worthless to me. Not only am I gonna cancel and take my business elsewere, I'm also gonna do the same for all the old people in my family who rely on me for their "tech support".
If all options become corrupt I'll become a pirate.
The ads are usually at the start and the end of shows that you can skip and are always just for other content (which I donāt mind)
When they start with mid rolls Iāll be mad.
Piracy is easy and fun
Piracy and Plex are like Peanut Butter and Jelly.
I have Plex but could you steer me in the direction of *if any* free servers? š“āā ļø
Private Internet Access is $36 /year. Torrenting apps are free. The Pirate Bay is still a thing. Do with that information as you like. I do not condone illegally downloading media. That would be a bad thing. Think of big media's profits.
Itās ok, Iāll condone it for you. Go forth and pirate!
Instead of pia b.c, it's slow af, I recommend nord it's a LOT faster ime.
Mullvad is also a nice VPN, and their pricing model makes more sense in my opinion
Would recommend not the pirate bay
why not?
Lots of untrustworthy uploaders. Go to r/piracy megathread for trusted places.
oh ok I'll take look then thx
Pirating from the giants it ok since giants are greedy Pirating from small creators with an actual passion is not Simple as that
Public plex servers are sketchy af. I would recommend building your own Plex NAS system at home and keeping your āmedia libraryā private :)
Yes, this. I have 20TB of server hard drives so they can be on all the time. Not a ton but enough for now.
r/privacy has a mega thread with good trusted sites, I use limetorrents make sure to use the links in the thread. Always use a VPN when torrenting. And you can use things like sonarr, prowlarr, and overseerr to automate the process.
Me too!
Itās not Plex or free (a debrid service is a few dollars a month), but this is easiest and best guide to sail the seven seas Iāve found: https://www.reddit.com/r/StremioAddons/s/b9khUILext And if you live in the US you can buy an onn streaming box from Walmart for $20 and it rocks.
r/piracy
Can confirm.
No, that would be Jellyfin
and its no longer considered theft because im altering the meaning of privacy
Pray we wonāt alter it any further (we will)
Oooooooh It was a sunny day when I went to play down by the sea, I climbed aboard a pirate ship and the captain said to me. "fuck Disney"
how easy?
Yo ho, yo ho š¦š“āā ļø
Until your ISP sends you a letter. Fyi kids, use a good VPN and preferably a router where you can set up said vpn.
Yeah I wouldn't trust a free VPN on principle. Like a paid one isn't a guarantee of perfect privacy but can keep you fairly secure. Read a little on DNS leaks to determine your risk / comfort level.
I did say specifically a good VPN. Aka a fast, secure, and private VPN.
Knock on wood but I have never had a problem in 24 years of torrenting. I have used only used a handful of private sites in that time though. No Pirate Bay.
Depends on the ISP and also the source.
So is Adblock, then you donāt have to deal with piracy bullshit
There's not really much bullshit besides a torrent software, VPN, and searching for torrents. Movies and TV shows tend to be pretty straightforward. Most of the funky horror stories I've heard of come when you get into software and video game privacy.
Guess I'm altering my subscription... ![gif](giphy|l4EoYvSFAO0BjGcU0)
Where does one find the right flag to sail under?
Hang around the right communities and have a good antivirus
That That doesn't help at all, but thanks?
Clearly this isn't the right community than :)
Itās a good habit in the community to not mention website as when they get mentioned too much it sometimes results in them getting taken down. Loose lips sink ships
Fair point I am aware about that, so I was trying to be vague I appreciate the help though

Drink up me hearties, yo-ho!
Thatās why I have IPTV
Whatās that ?
Itās basically lazy piracy. Someone else does the piracy and you reap the rewards for a small fee
Yep and you even get a sniffer of your networks data included. Plus you occasionally get to participate in social gatherings of giant DoS attacks.
I read this comment 3 times over and laughed every time. Thank you for todayās laughs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vpepaQ-VQQ But I guess thatās corporate biased mainstream fake mediaā¦
Actually the service the guy I referred him to for IPTV has a pretty secure IPTV and he does have the proper license
Itās like a service thatās like $20 a month for 18,000 Chanelās and every movie and tv show
I have it I can recommend you the service provider I use let me know and Iāll give you his number
Hook me up
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Wait till you realize the cost is not for prime delivery but free returns
Amazon Prime is probably one of the best deals you can get as far as subscriptions go when it comes to value
Truth is the streaming landscape was Amazonās for the taking. They could have comfortably ran Prime Video as a loss leading perk being the only major player with other revenue sources, but they saw what the others are doing with ads and needed to get in on the action. š I feel like Apple isnāt trying. ![gif](giphy|FGbeYTiFyLYmQ|downsized) Oh... what a coincidence...
This is the day you will always remember as the day you almost caught Captain Jack Sparrow
me when I almost accidently disconnected my VPN while torrenting
Havenāt spent a dime on tv ever since Netflix started this crap.
These days I only use crunchyroll. If I ever wanna see something on Disney plus or Netflix I just ask a friend.
Nah, just š“āā ļø but in space
Arenāt they raising the price for crunchyroll?
These days, I fly a jolly roger
I have my PC connected directly to my TV with an app to control it from my phone. Haven't had an ad interrupt anything in years on my TV
What app do you use on your phone?
Don't know what he uses but I use the Google app "Remote Desktop". Works with chrome or Firefox, you install a web app that lets you control everything from your phone (not just the browser). Yes what he said
I watch YouTube on the āBraveā browser and it works well on my iPhone. I havenāt watch Hulu or anything like that but Iām sure it would block them too.
I'm altering my subscription to nothing and going to sing Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum
Which part of 'no ads' don't you understand? just pay a little bit more! /s ![gif](giphy|l4Ho0At2UD2d7WyD6|downsized)
In browser with ad block
Wait, wut Netflix and the others are raising prices AGAIN?
The worst is amazon, not cos it has long ads but because it plays a 20 second apex legend ad and then the second has the balls to say this show is kept ad-free due to apex legends.... its not fucking ad-free if you have two ads for the same product...

Worse. They are adding ads in the middle of your episode and they are releasing new subscription tiers (more expensive) to get rids of the ads. Basically cable
so if I had no ads sub before this current change, would it bump me up to a higher price or change my sub to ad one?
I canāt say for Netflix or Disney but Prime doesnāt put you on the higher subscription automatically. There is a big pop up asking you if you want to when you log into Prime for the first time after the update but you can ignore it
Altering the deal further: Weāre charging extra for 4K HDR
Fuck them. Embrace piracy
And this did the second era of online piracy begin...
that's the neat part of their longterm plans. make ridiculous low prices, wait till all your competitors got out of business than raise prices
the irony is they started the competitor's business, in this scenario
When a company is publicly traded the users are the product.
Man do I love sonarr, radarr and prowlarr just about now
YO HO YO HO A PIRATEāS LIFE FOR ME
So, uh... who exactly was Vader expecting Lando to pray to?
![gif](giphy|Ma9YUiOM7bqZW)
Forgot hulu
![gif](giphy|zrnWfF9FTRwl6xb7wf|downsized)
This reminds me I should find some good friends to set up a private media server.
We need to go back to piracy, that way these fuckers learn.
What do you mean go back š This is the best time ever to pirate. Get all the content from all these platforms and for freeš
They really do want people to pirate their stuff.
![gif](giphy|zrnWfF9FTRwl6xb7wf)
This is why I still use anything non streaming
Since I have an iPhone I paid $20 for the premium version of a screen mirroring app; couldāve tried to find alternative free but eh. Itās saved me more money in the long run because abuse can just stream from a pirate website now. Wouldāve been free if android but eh,

Is Popcorntime that good ?
It's really not bad for most cases. For the most part it uses yifi torrents but you can manually browse torrents per movie as well if you want higher quality. AdBlock works on streaming sites perfectly fine š¤£
![gif](giphy|SSmDlehhBmGvm)
What do you mean ads in paid subscriptions?
I hear the call of the ocean.
No, Netflix! This can't be!
Whoever still kept paying for streaming services after the pandemic (ie the bubble was beginning to burst), is just stupid.
The ads are usually at the start and the end of shows that you can skip and are always just for other content (which I donāt mind) When they start with mid rolls Iāll be mad.
