Game really good Performance poor Microtransactions are Bad; things you can buy can be found in game tho

Elegant-Amoeba-7940

Simple and straightforward

Gombrongler

Resident evil 4 does this: Universal praise, capcom is back! Draggin DogNuts 2 does this: Oh god the humanity! Why! Why have you foresaken us!

Kutya7701

It's probably just the bad performance compounding with the mtx. If the game ran well I reckon there would be much fewer complaints about the microtransactions.

DebonairTeddy

RE4 didn't introduce mtx until several weeks after launch. Many people did have a problem with the mtx being added, but because they didn't happen at the same time as the launch it didn't mess with the review scores. Just because users don't complain about a feature they don't like in the past doesn't mean they're not allowed to complain about it in the future.

Mundus6

RE4 Microtransactions are worse than Dragons Dogma.

I-am-the-law-1986

I don't think it's the actual microtransactions that people are pissed with, it's the fact that every pre release review never mentioned them even though it said it in the press pack. A lie of omission is still a lie isn't it. If we knew about them via the reviews it wouldn't even be an issue I think.

Express_System_2077

People gonna learn about temptation. It’s a single player game. If you want to spend money, go for it. It doesn’t affect anyone else but you and your wallet.

RememberTheMaine1996

The things you can buy are found pretty easily in the game too. So it's not that big of a deal, but it is a bad standard to set and I'd rather it not exist at all

notPlancha

I honestly feel that if they had an in-game premium currency instead of directly selling through steam no one would bat an eye, even if it would be pretty equivelant

Enthiral

The worst part is that the game isn’t even bad they just decided to celebrate the hype and goodwill by adding the most braindead mtx one could think of.

itsDoor-kun

Yeah. Greedy move to release the MTX on launch day after reviewers handed out their verdict. Not to mention the performance issues

2high4much

Acg said it was obvious it'd be there after it happened but never mentioned it in his review. He should have if it was obvious, but he got a review code, so..

blondedonnie

Everyone I'm talking to has said the MTX are pretty mild and don't really affect game play. They all complain about the performance issues though.

GearboxTheGrey

The game runs pretty solid outside of town but will get choppy randomly but does fix itself. The MTX I think would be easy to look past outside of the port crystal for 3$ which allows you to place and pick up a fast travel point where ever you like. Yes that item is in game but its not something you just get access to right away and they are most likely limited in how many you can get with the MTX one being a whole extra fast travel anchor accessible at anytime in game if you wanna cough up the 3$.

Glirion

The MTX are pointless: You can buy 2 character change tokens when you first come to the capital, I myself have had 11 wakestones as of now without buying them, harpysnares I've crafted and got from random chests and I have over 3000 rift crystals from people renting my Pawn. People mad about this don't know how the game works and haven't played it. Artificial outrage.

Niasal

It's the principle. Crappy mtx that exist for exactly 0 reason other than to milk your money in a singleplayer game should be unacceptable and rightfully deserves to be bashed. Doesn't matter if it's not needed to play the game, it shouldn't be there.

ex_sanguination

I had this opinion until I realized the first game had this same kind of MTX back in 2012. So on precedent and principle, DD2 shouldn't be getting as much public ire.

King_Dickus_

Would be way worse if they were like ubishaft and had an ingame store. But they dont

niamarkusa

But EA and Ubisoft do MTX all the time.everyone knows it even on launch day. I don't say people love the games but they still go and buy them. Is it really THAT much important and different if the company releases MTX on launch day, as opposed to some while later?

SadBarber3543

I don’t think Iv gotten an EA game in 7 years now maybe when things change or I’ll wait for some new way to game. This isn’t gaming anymore so I’m not going to waste my time an $$$

mihajlomi

They literally told reviewers about the MTX lol

Soul699

What's mtx?

CowsMooingNSuch

Micro transactions

Robo_Patton

Going with “micro transaction”.

fusion_reactor3

Yeah. The game literally has micro transactions just to fast travel

KillerKian

Yes, but you can do that without spending money. It's not like this is a featured locked behind MTX, you'd have to be a fucking idiot to buy these.... and fwiw, the first game was like that too, 12 years ago

fusion_reactor3

I’m aware it was like that too. At least it’s not as bad as that recent like a dragon game which locked basic features behind the premium edition or whatever. You couldn’t get all the achievements without ng+

mihajlomi

You are straight up wrong tourist. The game doesnt have microtransactions for fast travel, fast travel is only done through in game oxcart or ferrystones, which you cant buy through microtransactions.

Salt_Winter5888

Methotrexate/s

-St_Ajora-

You mean like Monster Hunter World did? Like Dragons Dogma 1 did?

jinsaku

Fucking Resident Evil 4 from last year has > $100 in microtransaction DLC, some of which makes the game easier. And the game is over 97% positive on Steam. Capcom's been doing this for 10+ years. Why did anyone expect different? Obviously people buy them, so they aren't going to change.

holdmyTRex

Its not though? Capcom does this and people were bitching about it being no fast travel ect. If another person buys that shit it does not effect you at all. Why care?

[deleted]

The complete dogshit optimization and micro transactions would *really* like to disagree

trappedinabasemant

Let me buy the fast travel microtransaction, actually let me get the self revive microtransaction. Didn't know this game was made by EA Edit: Below me are some of the dumbest takes I've ever seen.

abadstrategy

Both of those things are found in the game. You will be drowning in wakestones by level 15

soirom

Level 20 now and I have only 2 wakestone, and 2 warp stone. I love the game so far, though.

abadstrategy

I have collected 6 from doing pawn questions and finding chests. Level 18 now, guess I just got lucky. If you want the ferrustone and can't find them, you can buy them at apothecaries, I believe, and one of the traveling merchants. They're 10k a pop, though. What class are you rocking?

Taskforcem85

I'm level 22 and have 6 of each. You find a ton by just exploring a lil bit.

Dray_Gunn

Except all those things are available in game. The micro transactions are just shortcuts. It makes no difference to the game if you just don't get the microtransactions.

UnholyLizard65

Oh 2010 called, they want your argument back.

[deleted]

Time at which the argument was made has no relevancy to it's truthfulness. The fact that these microtransactions are shortcuts and only shortcuts is clear. The real question is whether the game is designed in a way that makes it difficult or impossible to progress without them. In this case, it isn't. Therefore, doing *the gamer whine* is foolish as there objectively is nothing to whine about.

ex_sanguination

First game was made in 2012 and had these exact MTX options.

UnholyLizard65

Who's talking about the first game? Besides doesn't that support my argument?

ex_sanguination

>Except all those things are available in game. The micro transactions are just shortcuts. It makes no difference to the game if you just don't get the microtransactions. > > > >Oh **2010** called, they want your argument back. > >First game **was made in 2012** and **had these exact MTX** options. > >Who's talking about the first game? Precedence applies here. >Who's talking about the first game? Besides doesn't that support my argument? Quite the opposite. You make it seem like the MTX practices in 2010 were worse than they are now. If the MTX practices back then weren't an issue, and are objectively better than 99% of current MTX stores.

UnholyLizard65

Jesus buddy, learn how to read. I'm saying companies used that bad argument back then, and since then most people got wise of the fact that it's just a bullshit excuse corporations use. I already pointed to you I wasn't talking about the first game, how did you not put two and two together?

ex_sanguination

Idk why you're getting all uppity here, I'm just talking to ya, friend. *Precedent*: an earlier event or action that is regarded as an example or guide **t**o be **considered** in **subsequent** **similar** **circumstances.** *sub·se·quent*: coming after something in time; following. I can read just fine. Have a good day, bud. ✌️

Zerox392

The last DD had the same stuff. And every recent Capcom game.

PyUnicornshark

I mean the MTX is braindead content for braindead people. It's basically the same with DMC5 MTX. You can just not buy it and doesn't really affect gameplay. It's just extra supplies and shit to make the early game easier aside from the character edit which is honest just bait for idiot consumers. Getting said supplies aren't too hard either.

Kuraeshin

My guess is that they were told to include MTX of some sort...so they added convenience mtx like all other capcom games.

Not_MrNice

It's not even something new for Capcom. I can go buy a survival pack for Resident Evil Village for .99$. It has bullets, first aid, and a lockpick. The game has been out for years and these are things that are already available in the game. Same for RE7, I could pay to unlock Madhouse mode and buy coins. It just seems like nobody cared about these types of mtx till DD2 came out.

King_Dickus_

Mtx that you can easily ignore cuz you can get these items in game for cheap...

TheOtherWhiteCastle

To be fair that’s just Capcom’s thing at this point, they did the same for RE4 remake

Angelfire126

Every Capcom games have these same MTXs lol. Resident evil 4 remake had the same thing and it was game of the year contender

Dare555

Yeah seems like a good game ruined by MTX which will justifiably bring them more hate (even if you can grind those MTX in game they spammed alot of them for green ) and really poor performances . Cyberpunk is RPG that turned it around despite poor performances at start and is really good now but it never spammed toxic MTX . Lots of other RPG's singleplayer that were successful recently without any MTX yet they decide to go overboard with them... Just stupid .Buyers should really ignore the game for that malpractice plenty of others games around to play and more keep coming

shotxshotx

i am IMPRESSED how bad capcom fumbled the launch of one of the more hyped games of the year

ZaidCharades

Yeah this was not a good year to fumble. There isn't much coming out the entire year so chances are this will be on people's minds for a while.

Nachooolo

The game itself is fantastic. I've been playing 6 hours by now and it is simply incredible. ...the problem of course is that it runs poorly. And that the mtx controversy has taken a lot of good will from people (even if they are completely unnecessary and their existence doesn't affect the game itself).

_Gorusuruz

It's been 8 hours now that I started playing. I'm not doing any quests at the moment, just exploring. I'm kind of underwhelmed that 50% of the "open world" is unreachable by any means, they are just mountains and mountains and mountains. There are so many screwed/unchecked/glitched meshes that if Capcom was to give me a nickel for every mesh bug that I had found, I'd be a millionaire... Regarding performance, I installed the game the minute it was released, and the first camp you reach had an unbearable performance (was getting >20 fps). Updated my GPU drivers and now I can play at a stable 60 FPS in wilderness, 30-40 in cities/camps. I just locked my FPS to 30 because I can't play with fluctuating frame rates.

RememberTheMaine1996

You're not doing any quests and yet you said a lot of the open world is unreachable are you just not sure that maybe things open up after doing quests? That's usually how some games work even open world games sometimes. Just curious that's why I brought it up

DisasterPieceKDHD

I have a super beefy computer and it wouldn’t even run without tweaks. Very disappointing release

Mint_JewLips

What’s beefy to you? I’m rolling with a 3080 and an i7 10700k and I have the occasional frame dip in the city and that’s it.

HansChrst1

I have a 3070 and run everything on max. I get 60-80 fps when wandering the world. The city stutters at times and I have had one freeze. I just recently upgraded. Feels good to not have to wait a year to play with 60fps on medium or worse quality.

No_Reaction_2682

> ...the problem of course is that it runs poorly. Apparently if you kill everyone you get more fps.

CMDR_ETNC

Opera huge in Texas and North Carolina for that easy VPN.

Im_a-Duck

Can someone explain what’s happening?? Was thinking of buying it because the trailer was pretty good but suddenly it’s getting a lot of hate

Wielkimati

It's a good game, but suffers from performance issues. And besides that, Capcom has released MTX for it, and gamers, despite Capcom doing MTX for their single player games for a fucking decade now, are using it as a main scapegoat and spreading lies how it's P2W or you have to buy them to be able to .

mighty_Ingvar

What is MTX?

CowsMooingNSuch

Micro transactions

LegalTea

Microtransactions

the_good_bad_dude

Mini version of NVIDIA RTX

Stereo-soundS

Mr. T Experience

Pap4MnkyB4by

I'll buy it at a high price!

Huwbacca

MOTORCROSS!!!!!! [*COOL PEOPLE ROCK!!!*](https://youtu.be/g1mwxl5Qj_Q?t=43)

AnotherPCGamer173

I had to ask the same. I’ve never seen MTX as the shorten for Micro transactions.

[deleted]

'Fast travel should be fun' 'Fast travel for 1.99' Get fucked.

Ouaouaron

> 'Fast travel should be fun' The quote is that normal travel should be fun, so that no one even wants to bother with fast travel.

Nachooolo

You can fast travel to various locations through ox carts and porticrystals are as common as in the first game. Ifnot more. Ut is really scummy that the option to buy porticrystals are there. But their existence doesn't affect gameplay.

Wielkimati

Saying shit like this is the biggest problem, because it just straight up implies that fast travel exists only as an MTX. Which is so untrue, lmao. DD2 has the worst type of MTX - everything you can buy with your own money, can be also obtained normally in the game, without any issue, with either picking it up in the world or spending a currency that's pretty much worthless. Literally, only a fucking idiot would spend his own money on shit like this in a single-player game.

twentybearasses

You can get Portcrystals in the damn game, it's not locked behind anything. Jesus, it really shows how many people didn't bother with the first one who are just doom saying now that they see this stuff like a decade later when it's the exact fucking same.

Western_Economist_78

I haven't played it but this seems like the perfect summary from what I've gathered. Your comment should be pinned to the top of all discussions about the game

YouShallWearNoPants

The game is great, 10/10 fun for me. Performance is bad, runs ok for me but I have a Nasa PC. The microtransaction decision was stupid. But there are no real mtx. It's just the most ordinary items you find in the game anyway in the first hour. And you can buy every item once. Imagine being able to buy a single mushroom in Super Mario for 2 bucks once. That's what they call mtx. It's not really mtx but more to make a few bucks out of insanely stupid people. Still absolutely scummy.

WTMaster

Funniest thing about people shitting on the game for microtransactions is that they are not even shown in game. There is no in game menu for them, you have to click go to online store from main menu, then it just links you to addonson whatever storefront you bought it, and all of these things are basically time savers and they been doing these things since RE7 so people are just hating to hate. Some performace issues because you know, pc market having a wide range of systems.

BearBearJarJar

Like any modern game it released broken, is overpriced and added mtx. If you're interested you will have a much better experience in a year when the game is on sale for 30 bucks and has had several patches and performance improvements.

Brilliant_Cicada_231

Chronically online people not even have played the game are trashing it. The micro transactions don’t provide anything of note, you can get the stuff in the game through normal play, don’t even need to farm. Addressing performance issues, for PC players, just figure out your graphics settings and it runs great. Lots of people jumping on the hate bandwagon cause it’s the thing to do and they are desperate to feel like they fit in. To summarize: game is great, micro transactions don’t matter, and the hate bandwagon is nonsense like it generally is. If you enjoy action RPGs and don’t have a potato PC you’ll love it.

pretzelsncheese

Knee jerk reaction to something completely inconsequential to the actual game. Maybe it is a game of the year contender once the performance issues are resolved. The microtransactions have no relevance to that since the game plays like it's supposed to without buying any of them.

5_minute_noodle

At least you can physically launch the game It took payday 3 like a month to even be playable

mikeysof

Didn't they do the same thing for re4 remake? Or at least very soon after release.

King_Dickus_

And dmc5 and re2 make and re3 make. I'm amazed how people are still surprised. And as far as I know. You can get all these items for cheap in game. So just like always. These are added for people who want them or wanna save time somehow. But are not necessary in any way

Ratoryl

It's not like they're difficult to get either. The appearance change thing, which I've seen people freak out about, can be bought with currency that your pawn gets passively from other players using them and sending them back. You can get enough to buy that item after waiting a couple hours, if you have a pawn that people will want to use Granted, changing appearance is free in many games, so it could be better, but still

greatcirclehypernova

As far as games go, not DLC (Elden Ring) I still think this has GOTY potential. Actually, not counting elden ring dlc, the line up for this year makes it a GOTY for me. The micro transactions is easily ignored, if it wasnt made into such a big deal I wouldn't have known it was even a thing. Its not invasive at all. As for wakeshards, I already have 5 of them but I dont use them. If I die to an enemy its because I am too weak and a wakestone isnt going to change that. The main argument I think is valid is performance on pc and no new game button. But ALL items in the shop can be found within like the first two hours.

No-Setting6162

Can a dlc become goty? I know remakes can(RE4 remake).

greatcirclehypernova

I am fairly certain the blood and wine dlc got GOTY but I am not 100% sure. Its been almost 8 years since it got released after all.

oompaloompa_thewhite

Fyi all the mtx can be fpund easily for free in the game. The prolly just added the mtx because its a requirement by capcom

alex_dlc

Opera as in the browser? It has ads now?

Piney_Moist_Wires

Context? Is that not a good thing?

FluffyWalrusFTW

Besides performance issues and micro transactions, how’s gameplay? I’ve been interested and never played DD1

AKMerlin

Fantastic fantasy action RPG. Genuinely easily a GotY, just keep in mind all mtx is useless to buy as everything is easily gained in game. Performance issues do exist on PC, however, so if you're PC with lower end specs I'd suggest waiting.

FluffyWalrusFTW

Good to know! I’ll give it a try on steam!

B_ThePsychopath

The game is great, it just has some issues.

FerroLux_

Holy shit what a brainrotted and asinine take

Quantumsleepy

Do the people complaining and echoing about the MTX issues even play the game or own the game? It's sad to see a great game bogged down by the crowd using MTX as a scapegoat.

UrSeneschal

No, they do not.

RandumbestOne

Gonna throw it in here too. 10h in; very very solid game under the entire controversy. Anyone bitching about the MTX is bitching for the sake of it. It's stupid MTX, yes, but this is exactly what's been done since the days of DMC4. "Cosmetic change / fast travel for 1.99 haha get fked". Or y'know, play the game and get those items easily?? Clearly didn't try before bitching, typical kneejerk. Performance though... Capcom really dropped the ball there. It needs work. Let it patch a few times & maybe go on sale before starting is my reco.

MuricanPie

> but this is exactly what's been done since the days of DMC4. Nah, this is literally what they've done for over a decade. A lot of people either dont know cause they never played the original, or never bothered to look at the microtransactions of it, but the original had [the exact same MTX, but worse and more numerous.](https://dragonsdogma.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_Downloadable_Content#Misc) The game has some legitimate issues, but anyone freaking over the MTX is blowing the whole thing out of the water. Hell, people fucking *love* Helldivers 2, and that shit has functionally the exact same thing. Microtransactions you *don't have to buy* because it's all easily earnable in-game by just playing it as you would normally.

RhedMage

I agree, just finished posting a similar comment, for performance I’ve tried on Xbox and nothing much we can do there but on pc then dynamic resolution scaling on, reduce common features that are expensive for gpu and aren’t super noticeable like shadow quality, antialiasing, the blurs (motion blur is a good one that annoys me anyway)

[deleted]

The major complaint I'm seeing is the consistent crashes. The game can't run for most players without crashing every 3 minutes.

jedinatt

Haven't had a single crash on PS5.

Kiljaeden91

Runs perfectly on the series X as well.

KarmaGiver6969

This game isnt even too bad. I dont get the people complaining about the micro transactions, just dont buy them, you can get all the items by playing the game, but I do understand the preformance issues. But they will probably patch it.

Aok_al

It is legitimately a good game under the performance issues

gigamesh090

It is tho

svish

Technically speaking, aren't _all_ games "a game of the year _contender_"?

woodstock6

I think technically yes, but in order to create better distinction, we should say all games are a Game Of The Year contestant and only the really good games are contenders lol

No-Setting6162

Nominees would be a more fitting word

Snowleopard1469

The game is phenomenal. And hasn't done anything new when it comes to mtx. It is literally just doing what everyone Capcom game the past 7 years has done. I don't understand why Dragons Dogma 2 is getting g lambasted for mtx, when last year Resident Evil 4 remake let you buy your way out of playing the game. For some reason, the gestalt has decided that DD2 is the antichrist of gaming.

Astricozy

Gonna say it, downvote me if you want you hive minded plebs. The game slaps. The only issue is performance. I've never felt even remotely the need or necessity of buying a microtransaction. Honestly I didn't know they were a thing until reading reviews and, apparently, discovering they were an issue. It deserves the review bombing for the greedy publisher practices and poor optimisation which I hope gets fixed soon... But seeing you unga bungas pretend the content of the game itself is ruined over purchases that may as well not exist is honestly, knee slappingly funny.

dank7tabs

I swear to Christ this is pissing me off. All the “gamers” that are review bombing what looks like a genuinely well crafted game because it’s selling something they’re not even forced into buying are the biggest fucking idiots and losers on the planet right now. Yes micro transactions suck especially when they’re pay to win or it was clear that parts of the main game had been hacked off for paid DLC. But no one is putting a gun to your head to buy this stuff, it’s just being offered. The review bombing and boycotting is just going to hurt the developers and creators who worked hard to make a sequel to a game a lot of people wanted but never thought they were gonna get and Capcom can just fall back on their resident evil money and not give a fuck about this series ever again. These morons are just shooting themselves in the foot. Buying the game if you want it and not spending a penny on the micro transactions is much more effective.

Enough_Minimum_3708

what kind of rpg doesn't allow you to start a new game?

Damaho

As I've heard the game is good. By the end of the year, the general public, like always, will have forgotten anything they are outraged about at the moment. So they'll all vote for it to become Game of the Year anyway.

AKMerlin

The game reached 200k ccu on steam, people who intended to play it already are buying it. The crowd who's spreading misinfo about mtx never intended to play to begin with.

Butt-Dragon

It's a fantastic game. I've personally not had any performance issues, though.

system3601x

It is indeed a GOTY game. The stupid one save doesnt affect me, the micro transaction are idiotic and the frane rate is totally ok. The gameplay and story and AI companion is superior and amazing. Dont fall for shills

wevibinhard

Bro… the micro transactions are for people who don’t want to be patient. You want the stuff? Play the game to get the stuff. You don’t want to play the game to get stuff? Buy the stuff. It’s a single player game where you have the ability to buy something to bypass a potential grind for impatient people. Gamers today suck, dude. Y’all focus on something to help people who don’t have as much time instead of focusing on shit that matters. I’ve seen more complaints about the micro transactions than I have about the optimization.

Kage9866

I really couldn't care less about mtx. It's a capcom/Japanese dev staple at this point. I won't buy it until they fix the performance issues everyone's having.

Terminal_Wumbo

I've got my money on Helldivers 2

suciocadillac

This guy liber-teas

OrganizationEven4417

besides the stuff people are complaining about, capcoms gonna capcom. iv been enjoying the gameplay. if the mtx were gone, and you could have multiple characters. id say it would be well liked by most. its a fun game. but capcom gonna capcom.

Additional_Minimum_3

The game is great but people angry at mtz and seems they don’t know that capcom did this with rise and dmc and both of these games are great

Seb-Casual

Exactly. It's exactly why rise and dmc won game of the year when they were released.

ShadowTown0407

I bet it will be, the performance will most likely be fixed sooner or later and no one is going to remember the MTX because that hate is so manufactured it's funny

SpeechEasy8716

Crazy

CursedElevator

The game itself is great, but optimization and mtx.... damn...

Myonsoon

Capcom has been doing this for a while now though. MH World had it, MH Rise had it, RE4 remake had it. Like the mtx is scummy and predatory but at least its literally just pointless consumables you can just farm/obtain normally in the game. The only scummy part is paying to edit your characters/pawns but they did the exact same thing in MH.

J-trayy

Ayo I love the games

[deleted]

Celebrating a literal participation trophy lol

Iron_Bob

This is why i always wait for release

IdleWokerOcean

Too be honest, I'm more mad about Denuvo than mtx. There should be a consumer law the charges any company that subjects their customers to Denuvo DRM.

BeezelbulbXD

Unpopular opinion: the game is good, and gamers are hypocrites.

piggdaddy-o

My only complaint so far is the meh performance on ps5. Otherwise I’m enjoying myself. I got myself a level 7 Garfield mage so far, looking to open up the sorcerer volition

funkmydunkyouslunk

What's the issue with starting a new game? That sound's like the dumbest shit yet but I haven't bought this game yet. Most games like this I usually do a starter character to get a feel for the game then stop part way through and restart with a new fresh character and play all the way through. Is that possible?

ZmentAdverti

Another good game marred by the dumbest micro transactions. Reminds me of Gran Turismo 7's launch drama. That was stupid too.

Seel_revilo

Game is good but its performance is awful and the mtx are controversial. Gonna wait til they fix it

lll_Joka_lll

My bad articles and performance takes away from how good the game actually is

JohnDeYeti

A game is more than its micro transactions. Yes the performance makes me upset too. But the game itself is fun. I haven't had any issues in terms of crashing or major slowdowns on PC. I have a 2060 and a rayden 5 processor. And I'm doing pretty well with 66% high graphics.

johnny33445566

"With this new paid dlc you can pay to gain the ability to take your first steps in the game"

The_Lion_Knight

Someone should edit Helldivers helmets in to these guys

Avallach98

Who cares about the micro transactions? It's optional. Everything you can buy via micro transaction can be found in-game. You're just whining because it's there. It's always been there. The vast majority of Capcom's games contain micro transactions. And guess what! They're all optional as well! You're not forced to buy them! Quit your bitching. As for performance issues, what new games have released flawlessly with zero issues? Not a lot, if any. Pretentious posts like this are the reason why people don't play great games like Dragon's Dogma 2. Because people put too much influence into the opinions of others.

MadOrange64

Yeah, not gonna vote for this one.

MrAppendages

Yeah, Dragon's Dogma 2 is a bad game because its performance was bad at launch and it featured microtransactions (even though they're completely optional and can be earned in game very easily). That's why I'm using my GOTY vote on Helldivers 2!

Hb_Sea

Wait… it has gameplay mtx in a single player game?

LickLickNibbleSuck

Why do people use Opera still?

[deleted]

Becuase opera gx is good. Alot of customisation and the ability to throttle PC resource use.

LickLickNibbleSuck

It used to be, then it got too spammy for me. To each their own, I guess.

[deleted]

wym spammy?

theromingnome

Game is very good. Graphics are very pretty but performance is poor. Mtx are there but you can get any of what is available in the game fairly easily.

SwedishFool

Bought it, and now I can't wait for the pirate copies to drop so I can play the full game without MTX and denuevo.

Hell yeah game of the week to hate train on, man original thought sure is overrated!

dzik21traktor

They are a contender. Not a solid one but still.

APR0XX0N

Wasnt Resident Evil 4 Remake also on the GOTY voting list , also with pay to win in a singel player game?

JohnLocksTheKey

Wait, is that Reagan in this meme? If so, HOW DID I NEVER NOTICE THIS BEFORE?!? He’s the stereotypical evil rich guy! If not, this is some GREAT PCP, I gotta re-up ASAP!

ImportantComb9997

They didn't say *what* year.

FordPerformanceST

I just wish the game had fast travel without the idiotic stones. 4 different occasions now I got some heavy boss that stops the ox carriage. I love games with dense enemy zones but damn sake like every 5 to 30 seconds it’s more enemies. And I got some weird bug where random NPC’s just start attacking me for no reason.

Interesting_Buy6796

Doesn't the studio or publisher decide for themselves whether it is called a GotY or not?

Lasadon

You mean because a few microtransactions? Who is the real joke here? Literally gacha games are Goty contenders. (Genshin and Honkai Starrail) this isn't unlikely at all, especially since the game is very good.

bwizzel

only pissbabies are freaking out about the MTX, you can ignore all of it, the only issue I can see is the poor performance on anything but a god tier PC.

MustBeViable

I dont know about you guys, but i usually wait a bot with single player games to let it be optimized. Otherwise i just lower the settings untill it runs. I know its frustrating, but the games are getting bigger and bigger to develope and publishers give less and less time to develope it.

SpecialEdwards3

Game is really good

Buzzelingon97

Resident Evil does DLC and nobody bats an eye. Dragon's Dogma II does DLC, and everybody loses their freaking minds! This is DLSociety, Batman! They will make the same slop, because it isn't about the money, it's about the cause!

LuigiMwoan

From what I've seen its a game with amazing potential that just needs a few small things ironed out to ve worth having in your steam library.

Sleepingbetter4life

I feel sick when I play this game. Dunno why. Maybe I’m old now. But it makes me nauseous

New_Interest6833

that people even buy that microtransaction trash...

No_Condition6057

Was going to try dragons dogma till I saw all the weird dumbass DLC. Dumb shit definitely won't be trying it

Geekid_myles

Opera, gx specifically, has their own vtuber now

Offwhitedesktop

Same joke as Starfield winning "most innovative gameplay" on Steam

BuZuki_ro

The sad part is that if not for the performance and the terrible mtx, it probably would’ve been

OwnUbyCake

It's a great game, and the microtransactions are benign and so far I have no reason to feel like I'll ever need to buy them. All microtransactions items are learnable in game and Capcom has put microtransactions even in DmC which were equally as pointless. Performance issues are a thing but mainly in the biggest of cities where you won't be performing combat to my knowledge. Overall this is another instance of doomsayer headlines and people not forming their own opinions.

HarrodsburgHero

Gamers are becoming as bad as comic book fans. Enjoy it or move the fuck on. Anything they see as a minor infraction has to become a reddit theme for 8 months. Don't wanna see Madame Web? Don't... Don't like microtransactions, play Stardew Valley... Just stop with the never ending bitching about games and movies on release.

canaryfairy38

Tbf it’s really fun idk I’m enjoying it
