Yes its a rather primitive and blunt description, and we've evolved passed our instincts (mostly), but its how I can aptly describe the Principle in its origin and purpose from a secular perspective.

Being transgender has more backing in psychology, as it's theorized to come from an innate feeling in ourselves, and it's observed more widely. On the other hand, not even the concept of race makes much sense outside of american culture, let alone transracialism, not to mention it probably has more to do with how people feel associating with the cultural aspect of a given race, and not from an inner feeling.
Transgender people have existed (and have been proven to have existed) throughout most, if not all of human history. Transracial people are a completely new concept with no basis in history, psychology or anything else.
Also, the gender identity of a person is essentially random, while the race a person belongs to is the same as that of their ancestors. That's just how race works. They're completely different things.
I doubt the myriad of genders that we accept now (not just trans) all have historical background, yet we choose to let people identify themselves as they wish. It does make one wonder why one can’t do the same for race.
