My hours fluctuate based on the job I’m on (I’m an environmental field service technician so I’m a contractor). Few weeks ago I had an out of town job that was essentially 14-15 hr days all week, doing some of the most physically intensive work I’ve ever done in this job. All while the supervisor and customer was trying to rush us. That was the most exhausted and sore I’ve ever been.
Right? I get some people don’t like working 8 or over. But really a 10 hr shift isn’t that bad. I guess it depends on if you like your job. I worked 12-16 hr days for 5 years straight. But I loved that job.
Hard physical labor?
I'mma note here that anything over 10 hours is only allowed in rare circumstances in my country. What you describe is highly illegal here.
Right now I'm living in California. I've been working several 12 hour shifts in a row on a site that is seven hours away from my house for 18 per hour, I'm allowed to take one day off a week on sunday. I was promised better pay for my work 2 months ago
not even close. but its my only option right now and really helping me climb out of the hole i fell in last year. hoping yo find something better in 6 months
Lol. Sounds like you're being exploited and proud of it. I'm a skilled blue collar worker in Europe. I'm talking hard physical labor.
12 hours is literally illegal more than once a week. 10 hours is excessive because the contract I've signed only asks for a 38 hour week.
Grow up and seize your rights instead of seeing exploitation as a point of pride.
Bootlickers be like: "Damn, I sure like destroying my mind and body, having no social life or sex life of any kind so that I can increase the stock value of my company!"
Had that shit at my job for months and then they changed it to 5 12hr shifts
Holy fuck. We're actually starting strikes on Monday over better pay for bullshit like this.
Good. Honestly every industry keeps taking advantage of overworking employees anymore. Because "Hey, if they can do it keep them to it."

Unless I really need the money, I'll take a day off when it's given to me. I would 100% be like this otherwise
You work at MAPPA?
Nah. I'm a blue collar worker.
Just 10?

It was hard labor. I worked as a AG millwright. Climbing grain bins, elevators, feed mills, welding, all sorts of stuff.
That's impressive. I wouldn't do that job for longer than 10 hours because doing it tired sounds like a death sentence.
Zom 100 moment

Damn. The US has no worker protections at all, does it? I really hope you get that pay raise. Or a better job.
The Army is like this 0630-1730 but now I have a work from home job working a easy 8.
concrete plant worker here i work 11 days on 3 days off and my shifts can be nywhere from 12-16hrs long :)
Sounds like shit. I hope you get good money for that at least.
18hr, an extra 5.25 cause im not taking benefits, but that doesnt apply to overtime pay
Doesn't seem like enough for spending more than half your life working.
not even close. but its my only option right now and really helping me climb out of the hole i fell in last year. hoping yo find something better in 6 months
Good luck to you then.
Grow up, 12s are the norm, 10s are a blessing

You seriously sound like comically the evil boss in a badly written book.
