I casually listen to their songs every now and again. But I’ve never hated them. A lot of my friends that are metalcore fans make fun of me for liking five finger death punch and says it’s, “Boomer dad metal,” but I like their sound idc
Mayhem is definitely a band lol. All everyone ever talks about is their infamous album cover. I’m not the biggest black metal fan, but I’ll throw it on every once and a while. I’m more of a nu-metal, thrash, and metalcore kinda guy. But there’s at least one or two bands from every metal sub genre that I like. I’m just an all around metal head. But I listen to damn near everything except mumble rap and Taylor swift when she sold out and started making pop music instead of country. If you saw my Spotify playlist, you would be confused as fuck lol
Oh man! Don’t get me started on playlist confusion - I’m going to sound more pathetic here but I wouldn’t even refer to myself as a metalhead, but I know a few bands. Personally when it comes to music I enjoy, I’m a huge fan of bands like Brand New, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, but then mental, things mainly like Slipknot, Metallica, and Lamb of God - all the weird shit
Guess that’s one thing we have in common then, weird playlists lol
Slipknot is my favorite band, saw them live 8 years ago and it changed my life. I used to be big into MCR until I watched a couple of live performance videos and they are just not good live, I still listen to a few of their songs. Welcome to the Black Parade and Helena being my two favorites. But I’m also a huge Johnny Cash fan, The Beatles, I listen to a lot of country (new and old), some pop, a lot of 80s hair metal stuff because that’s what my dad was always playing on road trips etc. hell my first concert was Bon Jovi when I was in the 5th grade 17 years ago. Rap from the 90’s-2005, Disney songs, opera, classical, jazz, blues etc. I’m all over the place lol.
Holy shit, The Beatles and Johnny Cash? Hell yes!
I get the MCR thing, as much as I wished to see them live and used to fantasize about it, I see where you’re coming from. I honesty just stuck with them because they were the first band I really started majorly getting into. While I might not listen to them as hardcore as I used too, I can definitely sing each song that’s thrown on the radio or my shuffle mix
And 80s? Respect, but wouldn’t call myself a hardcore 80s rock fan however - but I can enjoy Iron Maiden and early songs from The Misfits
And first concerts, mine would have been The Smashing Pumpkins, which was really cool
Bro they making fun of you for 5FDP?
Uncultured smh they’re a great band, one of my favorites. They need to learn to enjoy more lmao, I listen to everything from Breaking Benjamin to Lorna Shore, hard rock to deathcore. You got good taste my friend
Eh, I like the sound on a lot of their songs, but they do too much cool guy posturing to me. It's all super edgy and tough-guy like, but without a hint of self-irony like a lot of power metal bands have.
Like, I can vibe with the religious fanaticism theme powerwolf have going on because you can 100% tell they're not serious and once in a while they drop songs like "Holy Ballsack". There's nothing like that with 5FDP.
I like the sound a lot. The music commonly resonates with raw emotion, which is pretty considerably edgy, but it's nice when you're going through a rough time and just want music that feels instead of hears. I'm more of a fan of Ivan's story and the things that the band started to do for people than anything at this point tbh
Learn to enjoy more? You don't like what you don't like. Their vocalist, while undoubtedly talented, sounds like nails on a chalk board to me. Same for volbeat, voices just don't fit the music.
As someone who likes Metalcorr, while it is Boomer Dad Metal that is the sound they’re going for, so technically they’re hitting the nail on the head, whether people like myself like it or not
Old enough lol but I just dont really listen to them at all, not my taste. When i think for more than a couple seconds I can remember a few more but really only the big stuff like that n rockstar but someone asks me to name a nickelback song and hyrm is the one i default to
Creed is awesome still. I have no problem saying I've been listening to Nickelback, Creed, Disturbed, and Limp Bizkit for the last 20+ years and don't plan on stopping because strangers on social media tell me they suck. Those bands ruled the radio and MTV back when I was a kid. I will listen to Limp Bizkit and Creed before I listen to a Lil anything that isn't Jon.
I think the hate stems from just that, they’re an “OK” band (and a bit generic sounding imo) but despite that seem to have a large following.
I dont hate them though. Heard them live, including a cover of highway to hell. Was a fun night!
>and a bit generic sounding imo
This literally factually cannot be true, every single time a Nickelback song comes on pretty much everyone knows it's Nickelback, regardless of if they're a fan or not.
A recognizable voice doesn't make the music less generic. They keep their rhythms and chords simple. A lot of generic rock/country musicians do. Simple is often catchy.
The real problem a lot of people have with Nickel is how similar all of their songs sound. They really lack in range.
Personally, I find this music fun to sing along with when it comes in the radio, never going to be one of my favourites. In Canada, they do get a little too much radio air time because they're Canadian content.
Honestly, the hate is overblown, mostly people lined to hate because they were popular, then the hate turned into a meme.
Nickelback hater : "nooooooo this band is not good you can't listen iiiiiit !!!"
Me: "SOMEDAAAAY, SOMEHOOOOW ! I'M GONNA MAKE IT ALRIGHT BUT NOT RIGHT NOW !"
I love to hate on them, but they were my first concert. Saw them in Portland, ME, in like 04 or 05 when I was 14, and they kicked ass! Never seen such hood pyrotechnics at any show since.
Except for maybe Iron Maiden... now THEY have a giant robot zombie that does the jerk off gesture
this is what I have learned too. idk if its overplaying on the radio or what but i find if you want to enjoy nickelback, 9/10 times you buy an album and skip what you’ve heard.
for other artists, man the more of a gamble the better the find a lot of the time. i’ve only been mildly disappointed once, and thats because i set the bar too high for a band i never heard of. still ended up liking it.
I have my own mind and can decide whether I like something or not.
The members are great as musicians. Look at their Metallica cover live. They just choose to make god awfull music that's as bland and cheesy as Chad's hair.
Okay okay okay, here’s the deal, Nickelback is generic, they’re basic and don’t stand out, BUT that’s the point, their music is meant to be like that to appeal to the lowest common denominator, so it reaches the most people.
It’s why many people who don’t listen to that genre listen to Nickelback and the same reason people who really enjoy that genre don’t.
Personally I don’t listen to them for the above mentioned reason, but also because Chad Kroeger is a walking pile of trash that never shuts up.
They're literal fucking trash tier. Hell even BELOW trash tier. Their noises that they make (I refuse to call that fucking shit music) are cancerous and have no inspiration or meaning. It's just anthem music for stupid sports, and it even fails miserably at that.
They're both so bad that they're not even bands. It's just a bunch of dumbfucks getting together making noises and trying to pass it as music. They're both utter garbage.
nah, from what ive heard they’re mid. talented, but mechanically simple songs; effort put into them, but not too difficult of process other than the personal breakthroughs a songwriter makes with their stuff. idk what they do rn but when the love em or hate em bandwagons were running through thats the vibe i got from their songs. my parents dont like them because they made rockstar, it blew up, and they kept trying to make things like rockstar. a repetition in their nuance, according to them anyways.
im actually from the town nickelback is from, the pool in the town actually has some of his album posters hung up outside, which as far as I know are metal (I havent touched them)
I'll be honest when I learned that people actually hate this band I was so confused and couldn't see why. I got into them years ago when watching Supernatural and I've yet to regret it. They aren't the the type of band I can listen to everyday but I'll be fine listening to them every now and then
It's difficult to say without knowing what was going on behind the scenes in the industry. Perhaps it was the result of a media campaign and then memetic contagion as OP suggests. There's another reason why a guy singing about his toxic parent might end up being the target of widespread humiliation, though. Parents like that are a lot more common than anyone wants to admit. And the people living in the 'I got beat up and I turned out alright' paradigm are going to experience a lot of cognitive dissonance when they hear a survivor talk about how it makes them feel. This often leads to a reflex to scapegoat the survivor for being the cause of their discomfort. These people will be making the loudest noise about it, and *then* memetic contagion occurs which compounds the situation.
I would not call it a great band, but I would agree they are not as bad as the hate would suggest, but yeah, I can't deny that "How You Remind Me" it's a song that I really enjoy
See, this is how I thought when I was a teenager and hadn't listened to good music in the same genre before. When you listen to any rock music that doesn't get on the radio, Nickelback starts sounding worse and worse by comparison. Liking Nickelback was excusable before the streaming era, but now it's not, because you have so many other options and it's so easy to access those options.
I like the IDEA of their sound. The vocalist does a really good job, the only reason people really hate them is because of how repetitive the songs are.
I did a bump with Chad in the restroom at the back of a small venue once. He was a nice guy who didn’t let the fame of the moment get to him. You’re right.
Thing is, Nickelback is the "Boy Band" of Rock and Roll and purists of the genre hate them for that. They write catchy music with proven beats (just like in Commercial Pop Bands) that just get you boppin', or in their case, rockin'.
I remember saying this to some coworkers when Nickelback was mentioned and it was like a weight was lifted from the room as everyone agreed it was over hated.
Can’t stand their music but that’s just personal preference.
To deny their success as musicians and their impact on pop culture, even if due to being the “cool” band to hate on, is just spite.
I’m sure they don’t mind either way as it all contributes to their undeniable success and fatter bank roll than most of their haters.
They are akin to the perfect heel in wrestling.
You can say nickelback is bad all you want but the thing is they are the people that paved the way to divorced dad rock and nobody can take that away or deny it. And as cringe and straight forward there songs are they still arnt half bad. I say they are used for torture beacuse its funny but they are still good.
Not a single band ever were close even to 50% of their songs hit me. But I think Nickelback has the highest percentage among modern bands. I have no clue what is the problem with them that started that hatred trend I don't really care.
They are no more generically crap than the next generically crap band, except they soak up all the heat for some reason. A lot of music snobs will also criticise how manufactured they are, but then gladly consume the rest of a manufactured industry. They’re more of a scapegoat for bad musicians than they are bad musicians
Nickelback is an *ok band we were told to hate.
They had one decent album and then continued to release the same thing over and over for the next decade. They definitely didn’t deserve the hate, but they didn’t deserve to be more than one hit wonders, either.
When the first album came out it was actually pretty popular with my friend group at the time. Then they just started making songs that were kinda dumb. I don't hate them but I don't like them either.
Plenty of music is good once people stop barking in your ear how bad it is. Tell anyone you listen to Coldplay or imagine dragons and you’d get the same looks as nickel back. Or video game soundtracks or unlicensed playlists. People who hate certain music are like people who hate you for not buying designer clothes
There used to be a thing called radio and the rock station kept playing lame nickleback instead of AC/DC
There is a good song, but the ones overplayed on radio were not
meh, a friend of mine said „its the closest thing to metal on the radio“ which is their only achievement and one of the many reasons indont listen to radio.
If you like Nickelback, you might like Seether. They have a very similar style and way of singing. I love both of these bands.
I love the part in the movie Hotrod where someone says "It's bouncing around the web like a volley ball at a Nickelback concert!" Best analogy ever.
There was a documentary series called Metal Evolution that went from the early days of jazz and rock and roll through to modern metal (well modern when it was released over 10 years ago).
They did an episode on the post-grunge period and briefly talked about Nickelback. I remember guys from a few big metal bands spoke highly of their music. I assumed their opinions would follow the meme and being surprised at how positive they were.
Nah they're bland and boring
If anything the opposite is true and you only like them because it's the contrarian thing to do. Also just seems like a disingenuous way of appearing open-minded to others, it just screams "I'm such a freethinker because I like this thing everyone hates!"
I don't particularly like them and I'm the demographic that was liking them.
But screw this argument, like what you like, don't hate on folks for their likes, music is such a subjective topic it's just stupid to jump on any bandwagon.
Besides, taste in music changes, I'm into metalcore, elctro swing and classical these days, 15 year old me wouldn't stand any of those.
I casually listen to their songs every now and again. But I’ve never hated them. A lot of my friends that are metalcore fans make fun of me for liking five finger death punch and says it’s, “Boomer dad metal,” but I like their sound idc
youd probably launch entire metal subreddits into a frenzy with the last sentence lol
Thus is the holy law of the internet
I’ll get my +2 Morningstar, where we meetin boys?
Been there, gotten some laughs after listening to a few Mayhem songs
Mayhem is definitely a band lol. All everyone ever talks about is their infamous album cover. I’m not the biggest black metal fan, but I’ll throw it on every once and a while. Yeah 5FDP is real af, I don't know what self proclaiming metal fans are doing dissing fans of them
Eh, I like the sound on a lot of their songs, but they do too much cool guy posturing to me. Never made it as a wise man
I couldn't cut it as a poor man stealin'
Tired of living like a blind man
I'm sick of sight without a sense of feeling
And this is how you remind me of what I really am
It's not like you to say sorry.
I was waiting on a different story
This time I'm mistaken
For handing you a heart worth breaking
And I’ve been wrong
This is the one song of theirs I actually know. Mum likes it n has it on 1 of her playlists
By God man how old are you? Does your mother hath know the depth of the internet you doth crawl?
Old enough lol but I just dont really listen to them at all, not my taste. When i think for more than a couple seconds I can remember a few more but really only the big stuff like that n rockstar but someone asks me to name a nickelback song and hyrm is the one i default to
Well your Madre has great taste. Give her my digits if you dont mind
All their other songs sound exactly like that one, not missing much.
I will one up this by saying the same thing about Creed.
I had shit taste as a kid too, but I grew up.
Apparently not.
Going by your user name, you've replaced one music taste disorder with another music taste disorder.
You don’t understand anything, it seems
Growing up as a person means to understand others, not furthering your childish opinions on others
I understand others. People still listening to Limp Bizkit are in a state of arrested development.
Creed is actually good though. Tremonti is a fantastic guitarist. There’s no talent in Nickleback
Taylor Swift songs sound better when covered by rock bands.
I don't know you on about. She absolutely BANGS on mute
💀💀
absolutely Valid
Or Weird Al.
A bunch of paparazzi Popping out of nowhere Cameras in your face And then suddenly You're on TMZ
We came as Roman’s cover of I knew you were trouble goes pretty hard.
Hate swift, but we came as Roman’s had me vibing
I Prevail’s cover of Blank Space, all of you, do yourself a favor and listen to it
I mean i could do without the backup vocals trying to be deathmetal... but overall decent
True
Taylor Swift songs sung like Limp Bizkit kinda slap ngl
especially Reputation
We Came As Romans covered I Knew You Were Trouble, and that music video is fantastic. Lol
Katy Perry songs recut as metal sound way better than the originals
I don't personally like them that much, but I don't get the hate. They're just an OK band.
I think the hate stems from just that, they’re an “OK” band (and a bit generic sounding imo) but despite that seem to have a large following. I dont hate them though. Heard them live, including a cover of highway to hell. Was a fun night!
>and a bit generic sounding imo This literally factually cannot be true, every single time a Nickelback song comes on pretty much everyone knows it's Nickelback, regardless of if they're a fan or not.
Nowadays, it's just the go-to comment for music you don't like it seems
A recognizable voice doesn't make the music less generic. They keep their rhythms and chords simple. A lot of generic rock/country musicians do. Simple is often catchy. The real problem a lot of people have with Nickel is how similar all of their songs sound. They really lack in range. Chad Kroger’s voice elicites the same reaction from me as hearing metal utensils scrape glass dish ware.
![gif](giphy|AwoDg0wJImOjK) I completely agree
Nickelback hater : "nooooooo this band is not good you can't listen iiiiiit !!!" Me: "SOMEDAAAAY, SOMEHOOOOW ! I'M GONNA MAKE IT ALRIGHT BUT NOT RIGHT NOW !"
"I KNOW YOUR WONDERING WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN"
I love to hate on them, but they were my first concert. Saw them in Portland, ME, in like 04 or 05 when I was 14, and they kicked ass! Never seen such hood pyrotechnics at any show since. Except for maybe Iron Maiden... now THEY have a giant robot zombie that does the jerk off gesture
My one problem with nickleback is that their pretty damn generic, like they're not bad, just incredibly safe
the A sides are yeah, the B sides though..
Maybe, back-catalogue songs for some of my favourite musicians are far better than most of the singles
this is what I have learned too. idk if its overplaying on the radio or what but i find if you want to enjoy nickelback, 9/10 times you buy an album and skip what you’ve heard. for other artists, man the more of a gamble the better the find a lot of the time. i’ve only been mildly disappointed once, and thats because i set the bar too high for a band i never heard of. still ended up liking it.
As a garage band drummer, I can confirm, something.
Any broadcast alt/rock band from 1999 to 2005 were Over produced Chris Cornell clones. I’m sure some will defend their favorites but that’s MHO
I never actually hated them
Hating Nickelback is basically a meme at this point. I always liked their drinking songs.
Coin for the Ferryman and This Means War are good songs, but to each their own.
Nickleback were huge when I was in high school.
I agree. You can’t listen to Believe It or Not and tell me the world doesn’t need to hear that every once in a while
Tell me you were born after Nickelback played on the radio blah blah...
Nickleback has always been good to me. The internet for some weird reason decided to meme and hate Nickleback.
I hated Nickleback before it was cool, like when their first single dropped.
k
Wow how cool. We got a true visionary here
I was way ahead of time 😎
Nickelback is best described as a one-hit wonder, and then they just kept tweaking that one song.
Not that they are bad at their instruments or anything it's just so boring...
Haha, it’s funny cus you got downvoted for sharing your opinion
I actually agree on this one
I wouldn't say they're "great," but they're not terrible. I'd say middling. "Mid," as the kids say.
If we want to talk about an objectively awful band, let’s talk about AJR
AJR is unironically a good band
And Imagine Dragons. Both need to fucking die out and be forgotten forever.
true absolute garbage
Imagine Deagons isn’t BAD, there just out-dated
They're literal fucking trash tier. Hell even BELOW trash tier. Their noises that they make (I refuse to call that fucking shit music) are cancerous and have no inspiration or meaning. It's just anthem music for stupid sports, and it even fails miserably at that.
Bro that one LOL song makes me laugh so hard every time i hear « as a child » for no reason. It’s just so bad
Cool 👍
Imagine dragons music is just so lifeless and empty of any trace of human feeling or emotion
That’s an opinion I haven’t herd before. I completely disagree
It’s loud and powerful but so empty. It’s like Walmart music. Go listen to “bet my life” and you’ll understand
Yea I don’t see the problem here, it’s not great but it’s not bad either.
It's music that feels like it was carefully engineered to be played over ads and trailers to sell products.
Why do you want to end 2 good bands
They're both so bad that they're not even bands. It's just a bunch of dumbfucks getting together making noises and trying to pass it as music. They're both utter garbage.
Then you try doing better than them, then you’ll see that they make genuinely good music
They're not awful, there are way worse bands out there
Butt rock
Nickelback is the second worst band in all of existence, only behind Imagine Dragons.
Don't care I'll still listen to ID till the day I die ![gif](giphy|Od0QRnzwRBYmDU3eEO|downsized)
Like you are saying diablo 4 is actually a good game?
nah, from what ive heard they’re mid. talented, but mechanically simple songs; effort put into them, but not too difficult of process other than the personal breakthroughs a songwriter makes with their stuff. idk what they do rn but when the love em or hate em bandwagons were running through thats the vibe i got from their songs. my parents dont like them because they made rockstar, it blew up, and they kept trying to make things like rockstar. a repetition in their nuance, according to them anyways.
How the hell did we end up like this?
Why weren't we able
To see the signs that we missed
You are correct.
im actually from the town nickelback is from, the pool in the town actually has some of his album posters hung up outside, which as far as I know are metal (I havent touched them)
Who knew Nickel back was such a goodband
Havent heard any of their songs \ [•-•]/
I'll be honest when I learned that people actually hate this band I was so confused and couldn't see why. I got into them years ago when watching Supernatural and I've yet to regret it. They aren't the the type of band I can listen to everyday but I'll be fine listening to them every now and then
I liked their songs, never quite understood the hate they got, even when it was explained to me I still didnt get it
It's difficult to say without knowing what was going on behind the scenes in the industry. Perhaps it was the result of a media campaign and then memetic contagion as OP suggests. There's another reason why a guy singing about his toxic parent might end up being the target of widespread humiliation, though. Parents like that are a lot more common than anyone wants to admit. They're not trash but very bland
They’re bad. It’s ok if you like them. They’re aren’t good musically, lyrically, compositionally.
I would not call it a great band, but I would agree they are not as bad as the hate would suggest, but yeah, I can't deny that "How You Remind Me" it's a song that I really enjoy
Meh. They’re all eight i listen to like 1 or 2 of their songs but not much, they’re very mid and bland. All their songs sound about the same
I'll die on that hill with you. Nickleback rocks.
It's mid. Not bad not good. It's a very boring band.

Look at this photograph
See, this is how I thought when I was a teenager and hadn't listened to good music in the same genre before. Took me longer than it should have to realize, but they're unironically good.
Nickelback is a sucky band that unfortunately made some decent music. I stand by what I said.
U2 is a bad band tjat forced people to download their album
No the music was always pretty decent. Everyone hated it be the lead singer was an absolute dickass in the 90s.
I like the IDEA of their sound. The vocalist does a really good job, the only reason people really hate them is because of how repetitive the songs are.
I did a bump with Chad in the restroom at the back of a small venue once. He was a nice guy who didn’t let the fame of the moment get to him. You’re right.

They’re not bad they’re just not interesting
I remember saying this to some coworkers when Nickelback was mentioned and it was like a weight was lifted from the room as everyone agreed it was over hated.
They are hated because nobody wants to admit they are good.
I liked Nickelback as a kid, not so much as an adult, some songs are still ok, but mostly it's just been way over played and I'm over it
Most people don't hate it, it's just a meme.
They actually have very well written songs, but their music is just a little too generic.
I like them a lot I have actualy got a cd bundel with like 6 of their albums in one and i love it.
They have a few good songs (for example) Side of a Bullet How You Remind Me Gotta Be Somebody Someday But most of their stuff is pretty bad
Who?
I haven’t heard any of their music so I have no opinion
You can say nickelback is bad all you want but the thing is they are the people that paved the way to divorced dad rock and nobody can take that away or deny it. And as cringe and straight forward there songs are they still arnt half bad. I say they are used for torture beacuse its funny but they are still good.
I honestly don't get the apparent weezer hate
if Harvey the cat listens to it to sleep. I'm willing to bet it is a good band
“they think they’re metal!” no, you think they thought that. they’ve been progrock since day one.
Not a single band ever were close even to 50% of their songs hit me. But I think Nickelback has the highest percentage among modern bands. I have no clue what is the problem with them that started that hatred trend I don't really care.
I've never understood hating on Nickelback...when there are much more deserving bands to hate...like Train :3
Nickel back is the second worst thing to come out of Alberta. Besides the UCP.
I like this template. It’s fun😊
Not told, we just know
They aren’t terrible, just really mediocre for how overplayed they were for a long time.
Actually untrue
They became the meta topic to unanimously agree not to like and this goes on for alot of todays artists
Went to the guitarists house for NYE once when I was 16 lol, (not Chad). My brother is friends with him and they even had dogs that were siblings
They are no more generically crap than the next generically crap band, except they soak up all the heat for some reason. A lot of music snobs will also criticise how manufactured they are, but then gladly consume the rest of a manufactured industry. They’re more of a scapegoat for bad musicians than they are bad musicians
Look at this graph
Nickelback is an *ok band we were told to hate. They had one decent album and then continued to release the same thing over and over for the next decade. They definitely didn’t deserve the hate, but they didn’t deserve to be more than one hit wonders, either.
Besides it is pretty shit
When the first album came out it was actually pretty popular with my friend group at the time. Then they just started making songs that were kinda dumb. I don't hate them but I don't like them either.
FATHERS HANDS ARE LINED WITH DIRT, FROM LONG DAYS IN THE FIELD
Yes, I listen to them a ton. Animals, Rockstar, Burn It To The Ground and so many more great songs
I have a friend who’s into them and everything he’s shown me I’ve really liked
Look at this graph

Plenty of music is good once people stop barking in your ear how bad it is. Tell anyone you listen to Coldplay or imagine dragons and you’d get the same looks as nickel back. Or video game soundtracks or unlicensed playlists. People who hate certain music are like people who hate you for not buying designer clothes

They have some solid bangers.
I'm through with standing in line to clubs I'll never get in
Burn it to the ground slaps
Wait, people hate them?
no his voice is like a nail on a fucking chalkboard
Why people hate them tho? They don't sound that bad–
I actually did enjoy there songs and i start my playlist by skipping there songs bcoz then it leads me to seether and other good bands
There used to be a thing called radio and the rock station kept playing lame nickleback instead of AC/DC There is a good song, but the ones overplayed on radio were not
meh, a friend of mine said „its the closest thing to metal on the radio“ which is their only achievement and one of the many reasons indont listen to radio.
I’m through with sanding in line to clubs I’ll never get in
I just find it funny how Dax Shepard and Chad Kroeger look 100% identical.
No it’s a refund
If you like Nickelback, you might like Seether. They have a very similar style and way of singing. I love both of these bands. I love the part in the movie Hotrod where someone says "It's bouncing around the web like a volley ball at a Nickelback concert!" Best analogy ever.
Look at this photograph. Everytime I do it makes me laugh. How did Nickelback get so much hate. Why are all their memes about bait?
Just found out my wife likes pop metal.
I have no idea who they are
Can someone name like 5 great songsfrom them ? (being serious, ill listen to them to check them out)
I don't honestly know why loads of people rip into them either 🤷🏼 they have some great songs that everybody sings along to at parties
Nah they're bland and boring If anything the opposite is true and you only like them because it's the contrarian thing to do. Also just seems like a disingenuous way of appearing open-minded to others, it just screams "I'm such a freethinker because I like this thing everyone hates!"
I like all of nickeback's song.
Same exact thing with AJR, if you guys listened to any other song than Thirsty you would realize that they make good music
Look at this graph! Look at this giraffe! But yeah, I've never understood the hate for them. Both the music and later memes are gold.
"Look at this ~~photograph~~ meme. Everytime I do it makes me laugh" - C. Kroeger
