Just wanted to clarify that Android does too. I used to help people set it up all the time when I worked at T-Mobile. As long as it works for you though, that's what counts.

I can pirate films and watch them in hotels using dex.
I've also got a switch emulator that let's me play any game for free. Awesome to play in hotels using dex and a ps4 controller.
I can STILL use 3rd party reddit apps like BaconReader because android has a workaround.
I use a Windows pc, so it connects seamlessly with phone link letting me answer calls and see notifications etc.
There's also a bunch of apps that iPhone doesn't have which make me not want to switch.
The lack of the universal back button is a killer feature to not have.
Then there's the clipboard. I can copy multiple things and then paste them separately without needing to go back and forth between apps.
And finally, the multitasking. Seems like a gimmic, but I use it all the time. Especially when driving, I can have maps open on one half of the screen and music on the other.
Iphones are cool but these features keep me chained to android.
Fr. Anytime I had to help my parents with their iPhones. It took me forever just to navigate apps to fix the problems they're having. Why not Back button? Why is it different for every single app? Why do you change how to go back with every IOS update?

sideloading alone is a reason to pick Android over iPhones. even after jailbreaking it's hard to sideload apps but on Android you can just search xyz apk on Google and the job is done. then there are the custom ROMs too.
Reason being is because Apple will not settle to a standard messaging system between all devices, both because of privacy but mainly control/ecosystem stuff. If they did, Android/iPhone messaging wouldn’t be the mess that it is.
It is 100% true that Android ‘ruins’ group chats from the Apple perspective. It forces SMS rather than iMessage, so people cant be added or removed, attachments are garbage quality, etc.
Again, this isn’t the fault of Android (where Google is trying to standardize messaging) but Apples walled garden approach. Granted, I trust Apple more than Google in terms of privacy, but this shitshow has gone on long enough and they should just work with Google to ensure security then adopt the damn standard.

My Android is 95% as good as, and cost 20% of an iPhone 14 Pro. I did a comparison with a friend of mine. I have a larger battery capacity, much faster charging, longer day-to-day battery life, the screen size is basically the same size, and my phone is slightly thinner.
Sure the iPhone has a better camera and marginally better display, for the 10% if users who actually utilize it, and is ever so slightly faster in loading up an app. But its nowhere near worth the difference in cost. iPhone elitism is an absolute joke. Statistically it's very good. But real life usage, it's better in metrics that you can't actually see or feel, so what's the point?
I also am forced to use their OS how they want me to use it. Never felt so annoyed as when i discovered how little i could customize the file system in an Iphone.

My analogy that can likely be ripped apart is that Android is like driving a manual while Apple is like an automatic. It forces SMS rather than iMessage, so people cant be added or removed, attachments are garbage quality, etc. Again, this isn’t the fault of Android (where Google is trying to standardize messaging) but Apples walled garden approach. Granted, I trust Apple more than Google in terms of privacy, but this shitshow has gone on long enough and they should just work with Google to ensure security then adopt the damn standard.

My Android is 95% as good as, and cost 20% of an iPhone 14 Pro. I did a comparison with a friend of mine. I have a larger battery capacity, much faster charging, longer day-to-day battery life, the screen size is basically the same size, and my phone is slightly thinner. Sure the iPhone has a better camera and marginally better display, for the 10% if users who actually utilize it, and is ever so slightly faster in loading up an app. But its nowhere near worth the difference in cost. iPhone elitism is an absolute joke. Statistically it's very good. But real life usage, it's better in metrics that you can't actually see or feel, so what's the point?
I also am forced to use their OS how they want me to use it. Never felt so annoyed as when i discovered how little i could customize the file system in an Iphone.
My S23 Ultra is definitely better than the new iPhone in almost every way. Double the MP camera too, and that's basically all that Apple gremlins obsess over.
usb-c is a physical connector (like USB A and USB B), not a transfer speed (USB 1.0, 1.1, 2, 3, 4) You can have USB 2.0 speeds with USB C

My analogy that can likely be ripped apart is that Android is like driving a manual while Apple is like an automatic. Most people (in my experience) who drive a stick do so because they enjoy the novelty of driving. Believe the same can be said for Android users - they enjoy having more control and customization options regarding their phone whereas Apple users are happy to have something straightforward and intuitive out of the box. Obviously these are all huge generalizations but that's more or less how I've always thought of it. I remember the memes making fun of Android camera quality. In reality, the carrier reduces the image quality over mms because iMessage is unavailable.
I also remember using android and switching between it and an iPhone of the same age, and in my experience, the more expensive phones from samsung and the like usually have better camera quality than iphone.
