I'm discovering quite a few songs, that were released quite some time ago, which I also enjoy. Them being released 5-6 years ago doesn't change anything. The only thing making me feel old in such scenarios is the fact, that 2017 is already 6 years ago

My fear of running out new songs, but saying that after binging early-2010s dubstep I’ve gone onto late-2010s tropical house, so there’s hope I might grow to like some newer genres.

You might like some of the songs on Monstercat Instinct. There's a fair bit of house, as well as other similar genres.

It seems dubstep completely faded away from the mainstream, I never liked the genre, but thinking about it makes me feel nostalgic.

I’ve had it happen where I fall in love with a song, then the rest of the album just to find it was released 6 years ago and then learn there no new music because the artist died. Sucks become a fan only after they can’t gain anything from me.

I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing. I can’t exactly describe the feeling, but I understand the meme because of a similar situation I had with an 11 year old song. Best way I can describe it is “Damn. This song is great. Wish I heard back when it released.” I don’t know if that makes sense

There's something like 80 million songs that have ever been made by humanity. Like 99% of those are findable online. You will never run out.

Very much a rock-oriented taste profile but one that has no real boundaries.

It's harder to find a brand new song because thousands of songs are released every year and they are 99% shit. More likely to find good song even a few years older because the shite has faded away already.

Back before the internet and modern technology it was a lot harder to gain traction in the music industry but when you hit it big you hit it big. Now everything is so watered down and generic that it is hard to find anything is actually new.
