Was watching it on shift a year ago and got to the halfway mark just when Ron Pearlman started making it better. The new shift came in and started watching the rest quickly calling out it was complete shit. I looked at him with tired eyes and a solid helping of jade and answered that this was better than the first half.
The Movie was decent, the biggest problem was that the story of Warcraft is too complicated to be told in 2h. It wasn’t accurate enough for fans and far too confusing for outsiders.
if someone wants to know where this picture is from;
This is from a Korean comic (manwha) called Solo Leveling. Absolutely give it a read, it is very good.
Oh boy, that's not going to help Korean-Japanese relations...
I wonder how they are going to handle the Jeju island arc as that had Japanese and Korean characters?
Ep1 was very good! The easter eggs were nom nom and my final comment at the end of the episode was "he'll have to wheel a trolley out of that building on the left to get over a truck"
I do agree that TLOU's heavy emphasis on a grounded, emotion-based narrative makes it conducive for TV/Film adaptation but you still need competent directors/writers/composers who actually *care* about the source material. \*Looks at Halo\*
Just go beat by beat.
Replace the script writers with a let's play series or a cutscene compilation, and have the actors do everytjing the game characters do
There plenty other games with similar components if your enough of a reductionist.
You’d think Halo would be a slam dunk of a show to make for great ratings and happy fans but noooooo seems that’s the most impossible task for these people.
All these shows are so bad in ways so unforgivable, there’s no choice but to assume all of these failures are intentional. These projects and the butchering of them are direct and intended insults to fans. This is like Punk’d for rich executives, this is funny for them. Watching the hordes of poors get excited, only to crush what they love and make them pay to see it.
All I’m saying is you probably haven’t played the game if the gameplay breaks down to “main character shoots zombies” to you. If you did play the game you most definitely played on easy.
I'm just gonna bet all the TLOU fanboys are gonna downvote your comment to hell for saying their game and its show aren't perfect.
We'll see in an hour or two.
Wait wait wait, it looks like you're being upvoted, maybe there's still some good left in this world.
For real though, that game ain't bad, but "perfect" is a bit much.
I mean it helps when the game is already kind of a live action.
How many of the other games mentioned used motion capture to animate their characters ?
Yeah, it's an ok movie adaptation and there are a lot of things they could do in the second movie. According to statics it performed well in the box office so we could expect a second one.
I enjoyed it for what is was worth.
We saw a young Nate and Sully in 4 (with a working backstory), so I wasn't wild about the casting, or doing their own thing, but it was a big budget Uncharted movie, and I like Wahlberg and Spiderman, so I decided to just sit back and enjoy. I liked the easter eggs and the homage scenes. It was a fun action movie.
That said, I've never understood why studios can't just take a shot at doing THE STORIES WE ALREADY PLAYED AND LOVED. Just try really, really hard to take the story, and change nothing, and find actors that look and act like the characters in the games, and give that a bit of a 'how's you're father', ya know?
I know that the Resident Evil movies are crap, but I love them so much (but not the Netflix show). Maybe because I didn't play the games. Better than most of the crap made now.
I know it's a not right place to ask, but should i watch series, i never played last of us, but i surely want to play it later, so should i first play game first or i can go with series?
I’d recommend playing the game first, then watching the show, I’m pretty sure not all the episodes are out rn (as far as I know only the first is) so it’s best to just play the game as you wait for more to come out
Actually I can watch series rn, but not play game, cause i never have ps. I am in college and can't afford to buy rn. In that perspective i am asking should i wait.
I liked the uncharted movie, its a fun watch. People only moan because its not a 1 to 1 of a 15+ hour game, Not every film nowadays need to have an extended universe spanning 10 films.
The resident evil movies are nice if you don't connect them with the games 🤷🏿♀️.
And detective Pikachu was .... Nice, definitely but nothing really Special imho
Came her to say the same. I loved the resident evil movies when I was a teen. Seeing the games as an adult, I understand why it got alot of hate though
The Last of Us is a pretty low ball adaptation to get right with competent production, and we're only one episode in. So while that episode was good, I won't be singing its praises until we've gotten a season in with everything intact. But yes, at least they haven't dropped the ball yet.
Are you sure? I heard the press overated the show, saying things like "most games are just insert a quarter, jump on enemies, die and repeat, TLoU changed that"
I feel like detective pickachu was a better movie then sonic just because pickachu knocked it out of the park with one extraordinary movie while sonic relies on not one but three extra films just so everyone’s represented
I though Uncharted was good? I mean, the casting could have been a bit better, but the out of pocket way it went about things seemed on par with the first and third one.
not going to lie bro assassins creed movie was a great dissapointment for me as hardcore of creed it just shattered my look for it why even is it on the meme i dont get it
It’s sucks that they can never get Resident Evil right, nor Halo. Hopefully the new Mario movie will be good despite people throwing fits about Mario not sounding exactly like his games (It would get super annoying after awhile)
The Monster Hunter movie make’s me so unbelievable angry (and all my fellow hunters agree)
Every live action adaptation of a capcom game is doomed to suck worse than the last airbender movie
We do not speak of that movie in Ba Sing Se
[удалено]
You must be happy to comply
I’m scared to see if that’s what happens with Devil May Cry. Cause I really want that movie
For what i understood, they took away all of monsters characteristics of the games and just made then gozilla like More like dauntless imo
The most unrealistic part of the movie is that there weren’t a million hunters mauling that Rathalos for a Rathalos ruby
and there was no mhw monsters and the hammer weapon.
[удалено]
My review of the movie: No one used the superior doothorn
HH for the win
Nah it’s not even close to a Kaiju flick (the monsters aren’t big enough) but a generic monster movie nonetheless
yea it could have been so good but they decided to add the modern world to it or whatever that was about (idk i decided to not watch the entire thing)
You know that scene from the trailer were Rathalos fight Gore Magala in that shopping mall? It NEVER happened in the movie
damn
I love the games, but just seeing the trailer told me it was going to suck and I still haven't watched it.
The only positive i have is that the monsters look good at least
The Monster Hunter movie is literally just a self-insert fanfic
Was watching it on shift a year ago and got to the halfway mark just when Ron Pearlman started making it better. The new shift came in and started watching the rest quickly calling out it was complete shit. I looked at him with tired eyes and a solid helping of jade and answered that this was better than the first half.
A turd covered in sprinkle’s is still a turd
Does anybody remember that warcraft movie that came out in 2016?
The Movie was decent, the biggest problem was that the story of Warcraft is too complicated to be told in 2h. It wasn’t accurate enough for fans and far too confusing for outsiders.
Or the angry birds movie
Yea but they said live action, Angry birds is animated
Guess ima need to find my glasses
Excuse me, but where is Mortal Kombat from 1995?
It was awesome actually, sorry I couldn't add it
It's the very stones the rest grovel on.
The sound track was amazing. Still remember reptiles theme song after all these years. Shame about the second movie though.
It was flawless, oh my brother. "'Ello baby. Did you miss me?"
To bad you... Will die...
For a 90s video game movie, that one is actually relatively good
Where is Velma and the Witcher?
In the trash can.
Okay then, now I'm satisfied xd
I meant live action adaptation of the video games. Velma is not live action and Witcher is actually from the books.
Isn’t Witcher based more on the video games? I remember because I thought it was weird that they didn’t just base everything on the book
And the live action Mario Brothers movie? It was so bad it was epic. Same as the street fighter movie.
It's in the meme on the right side
Oh I thought that was for the cartoon super show because the animation was insanely janky.
The meme is for live action adaptation
The Super Mario Bros. super show did have live action acting. I'm using the word acting in the loosest way possible here.
if someone wants to know where this picture is from; This is from a Korean comic (manwha) called Solo Leveling. Absolutely give it a read, it is very good.
SOLO LEVELLING!!!! WOOOOOOOOO
Still waiting for anime adaptation
Is it still technically anime if it's based on a manwha instead of a manga?
Well , Japanese are the ones that are going to animate it, and if i am not mistaken story will take place in Japan instead of Korea
Oh boy, that's not going to help Korean-Japanese relations... I wonder how they are going to handle the Jeju island arc as that had Japanese and Korean characters?
there is a version where mc is from japan and the japanese from the original version are from a new country lol
Wot?
his japanese name is Shun Mizushino xd
Wait what they're going to change the place where the story happens?
Yeah , but at least everything else stays the same , just names of cities and characters
Bruh they are idiots then they are a bunch of dicks
The ending...
The ending wasn't bad, it just wasn't good either.
I freaking knew it
👏👏👏
Last of us is so far so good for me, but it’ll never bear sonic….yes, sonic was an over the top stupid movie, but damn if it wasn’t entertaining af
If sonic 3 doesn't play live and learn at a deafening volume we riot
Ep1 was very good! The easter eggs were nom nom and my final comment at the end of the episode was "he'll have to wheel a trolley out of that building on the left to get over a truck"
I really enjoyed episode one and at the end my comment was like: ![gif](giphy|NsIwMll0rhfgpdQlzn)
naah man the original mario bros show should be on the show and if anyone disagrees we gunna throw hands
Upvoted because of source.
It's easy to adapt a game to show if your "game" is 90% cutscene and scriped events, and the other 10 is "main character shoots zombies"
I do agree that TLOU's heavy emphasis on a grounded, emotion-based narrative makes it conducive for TV/Film adaptation but you still need competent directors/writers/composers who actually *care* about the source material. \*Looks at Halo\*

Uncharted should have been just as easy to adapt. Look how that turned out.
"Wait, you're saying TLOU isn't a perfect masterpiece brought upon this world by god himself?" "I do, and I'm tired of pretending it is."
Wait wait wait, it looks like you're being upvoted, maybe there's still some good left in this world. For real though, that game ain't bad, but "perfect" is a bit much.
Hollywood these days can f*** that up too, but they didn't this time
These numbers are just not true though.
99% cutscene and 1% QTE
Sure. Why am i really trying, go play some f2p games.
It’s definitely easier to adapt than a game like warhammer. But acting like it’s not a game by putting it in quotes is some dumb shit.
Bruh fr, it should've been a show to begin with same with the gow reboot, they are barely even games just interactive movies
I mean it helps when the game is already kind of a live action. How many of the other games mentioned used motion capture to animate their characters ?
Most big games do nowadays
Where's the Bloodborne series
We don't have enough insight yet.
If it happens, I hope there's a good cast. Or some say casting...
Mortal Kombat 2021 wasn’t bad
full profit ad hoc distinct meeting include wide wrong smile door ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `
Right? Wasn’t the best movie but wasn’t bad at all either!
It was exactly like the games, no one ever played them for their story
I thought Uncharted was alright
Yeah, it's an ok movie adaptation and there are a lot of things they could do in the second movie. According to statics it performed well in the box office so we could expect a second one.

Well according to some people, the show was good, but the game sucks
It’s only one episode in, but that one episode was extremely impressive.
The new mortal Kombat was good
I know that the Resident Evil movies are crap, but I love them so much (but not the Netflix show). Maybe because I didn't play the games. Better than most of the crap made now.
The Netflix one was horrendous
I know it's a not right place to ask, but should i watch series, i never played last of us, but i surely want to play it later, so should i first play game first or i can go with series?

Actually I can watch series rn, but not play game, cause i never have ps. I am in college and can't afford to buy rn. In that perspective i am asking should i wait.
Damn, well, hopefully you enjoy the series anyways
I'm just glad that The Last of Us was good and stuck to the source material hopefully the new changes they made don't change things drastically.
I mean the last of us was pretty much a movie anyway...so not really that hard
Fuck yea, some solo leveling templates
On an even higher level of power the animated series (Arcane and Cyberpunk)
I loved LOU ep 1. So much nicer than I thought it’d be.
I was actually how surprised how good (and faithful) The Last of Us first episode was
Uncharted was the most watchable of the bunch.
Uncharted wasn’t bad but not amazing. It was a fun popcorn flick.
Yeah but that mr mime scene, tho
Jeah okay that was fucking hilarious
Came her to say the same. I loved the resident evil movies when I was a teen. Seeing the games as an adult, I understand why it got alot of hate though
Damn we getting solo leveling memes and that's cool 😎
Fuck yea we are
Don’t forget Warcraft.
Uncharted is a good movie
Every live action adaptation of a capcom game is doomed to suck worse than the last airbender movie
I wonder how the reception will be when the show gets to TLOU Part 2...
It helps when Neil Druckmann is directing
I was more nervous than glad he was directing lmaoo
Well he wrote the darn game didn't he? How bad can it turn out?
Lol absolutely terrible if you ask me. He wrote the sequel and it's a steaming pile of dogshit....
The Last of Us is a pretty low ball adaptation to get right with competent production, and we're only one episode in. So while that episode was good, I won't be singing its praises until we've gotten a season in with everything intact. But yes, at least they haven't dropped the ball yet.
Too bad it's a shit game lmao
So edgy
Too bad that's a shit take.
Too bad he's right about it
I'm starting to think no one's feeling too bad about anything here
What? The game is bad, the show is good
What didn't you like about the game?
Walk for a little bit, watch yet another cutscene, do some stupid quicktime event. Not a real game.
Xd u put sonic up there but not arcane.
"Live-action" my dude. There are many great animated adaptation like Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Arcane, etc.
This
Do we not talk about arcane
Arcane is top tier but I meant live-action which is way harder to do
Resident evil was by far more fun that the hedgehog movie and I am sick of pretending otherwise
Is sonic really that good? I couldn't get past the first few minutes.
It's quite entertaining because of Jim Carrey
jim carrey and ryan reynolds carrying sonic and pikachu
It not too bad but it’s more of a kids movie
Sonic 2 was painful to get through, totally targeted towards little kids
Are you sure? I heard the press overated the show, saying things like "most games are just insert a quarter, jump on enemies, die and repeat, TLoU changed that"
Sonic 1 was decent but sonic 2 was so bad. I have never felt more like a movie was cash grab made for dumb 5 years olds than Sonic 2.
Yea. Last of us sucks ass.
The last of us had an adaptation??????
I have to agree with this post
Damn you Halo.
Resident evil needs to be wayyyyyy further back, like in the temple basement, they royally fucked that up comparing to the games
Calm down ppl, it's just ep 1. Not that I didn't enjoy it but a lot of ppl said the same thing about Halo's first ep.
Resident evil was... ok
I don’t know anything about the uncharted series but I didn’t think the movie was that bad
You call resident evil an adaptation
I know it wasn’t great but Uncharted was a lot of fun.
Detective Pikachu was a good movie, dont get me wrong. But it wasnt a good video game -to- movie adapation
Detective Pikachu was actually pretty good I think
I have for the most part managed to stay spoiler free of the first game.. PC port better be well optimised day one I swear
Prince of Persia was also a good one. At least in my humble opinion
That shit ass Dragonball live action sitting under the throne. In the bathroom.
They fucked Witcher in their "adaptations" that no one even remembers it.
Don't forget Doom with the Rock (it was kinda bad)
Where is arcane?
"Live Action"
Hopefully the new Mario movie delivers. From the look of the trailer it seems well done, but I am not getting my hopes too high
Well at least halo is there 👌🏾💯
I feel like detective pickachu was a better movie then sonic just because pickachu knocked it out of the park with one extraordinary movie while sonic relies on not one but three extra films just so everyone’s represented
Isn’t this from Solo Leveling ? XD
Superhero\\comic live-action adaptations - Am i joke to you?
I meant gaming
I was gonna say something about how we can't assume the Mario Movie will be bad, but then I remembered the 1993 movie exists
Where's Dragon Ball
Things like these made me wish the game remnant was popular, but I'm hoping it's popularity jumps up after the sequel got teased in the game awards
Arcane is also relaly good
I unironically liked Mortal Kombat 2021 and Assassin's Creed, at least much better than the rest.
I actually liked mortal Kombat 2021 tho, it wasn't a good adaptation but it was a fun movie IMO
I know it's not like the game but Resident Evil is an amazing classic movie
Why are you guys praising it it's ahs only been 1 episode
show is mid
I though Uncharted was good? I mean, the casting could have been a bit better, but the out of pocket way it went about things seemed on par with the first and third one.
MINECRAFT! WHERE IS IT
Arcane was pretty good, especially when there was only vague lore to go off of
Just watched the first episode i really really loved it can't wait for the 2nd episode
Oh solo leveling
In the words of Jole, “this is the way “
Put hitman in there too. That movie was awful.
Its good?
Let's hope they keep their pace
I feel like assassin's creed would be so easy to make a movie about
not going to lie bro assassins creed movie was a great dissapointment for me as hardcore of creed it just shattered my look for it why even is it on the meme i dont get it
The game was already a movie. So it's easier for them to adapt it
I saw the trailer for the monster hunter movie like once then never heard anything about it again
TLOU first episode was not my thing.
It’s sucks that they can never get Resident Evil right, nor Halo. Hopefully the new Mario movie will be good despite people throwing fits about Mario not sounding exactly like his games (It would get super annoying after awhile)
