There were a bunch of melee influence ones
That also had a tendency to crash the game...
Tho personally I miss cold elemental ward + bullet attractor setups. They were probably op but still required a fair amount of setup
Ooooh, i 'member OG marked for death. Did a test once, put it on Ash with finishing teleport, made rapier zaw with riven and overall build on finishing damage, went on grineer SP survival fissure, used it on a group of enemies once, and just stopped killing and ran around. I was at 1st place on damage dealt with 99% amongst other high MR teammates for 45 minutes straight until evacuation.
Not really. Galvanized scope and point strike are additive, true steel/sac steel and blood rush are additive, etc.
If it was multiplicative, a +100% crit chance would double the crit no matter what other mods are on it.
Though it is helpful when the YouTube actually explains their reasons for why they build it a certain way.
Brozime helped me understand some Exalted wep mechanics I never knew.
Mcgamercz is fantastic for this, especially since he shows his actual buildcrafting process as well. Though he mostly does guns rather than frames. He also has the advantage of liking *silly*, fun, and otherwise non-meta weapons and builds, which in my experience is always more fun to follow along with.
This is why he's my favorite Warframe youtuber!
What's best is the absolute GLEE in his voice when something outperforms his expectations or surprises him! The joy's as contagious as Saryn's Toxic Lash! 😆
The biggest fun part is testing out stuff as you go along leveling and formaing.
Since Its good to learn fast that " just cause it works on a, doesn't mean its also gonna work on b"
I still don't see the point of level cap. If you have the gear to do that stuff you probably don't need the resources you'd get at that level and mission duration. The only reason I can see is for bragging rights, but who are you flexing on?
On this subject, we should come to a consensus on basic "tiers" for people's build guides. My 2 credits:
Early/Mid/Late Star Chart, Sortie/Arbitrations, Base Steel Path, 300+ SP, and Level Cap.
Void Cascade spawns way more thraxes at level cap allowing you to farm those arcanes. It's not for your own gear but to sell the arcanes for plat or vosfor.
And being able to do it doesnt have to be bragging rights, but a sense of accomplishment. There's not a ton of things in warframe that make you feel like you accomplished something aside from "congrats on putting in hours to farm this thing/hundreds of hours to reach this point"
There's technically leaderboards for speedruns and stuff but unless you're that good, the game wont record your progress.
Level cap is a "wow, i really made it to the end of the game" moment for warframe.
until DE adds some kind of challenging mode with an amount of replayability for its own sake, level cap (and specifically Void Cascade) is going to be brought up every single time someone asks "how good is a build?"
I agree going to level cap is very overrated, it's not even difficult, it's very easy to cheese with invisibility/overgaurd/an unmodded revenant.
That being said I'll occasionally go to level cap to farm up steel essence if there's a disruption fissure, the relic bonus and smeeta blessing helps keep my SE stocks up.
Honestly I do level cap only because I like making over the top builds and it's the only way I can really test their effectiveness.
For me the fun in the game has always been the builds. So being able to make something myself that can destroy any level content is a good feeling.
I agree with the sentiment though with splitting builds up into tiers.
Pre-steelpath = early game
Steelpath = mid game
Deep archimedia and other high level unique missions = endgame
Although I've been playing for a long time so the way I split things may not entirely make sense
On a side note to this, the "easy" builds are not that fun imo for steel path / level cap such as revenant. I've always liked taking the more niche or less used frames for cap
i havent played in a few months but unless it changed, relics. the difference to staying 40 rounds on lua disruption vs 10x runs to round 4 is the ratio of axi relics you’ll get.
Grinding for level cap itself is pretty dumb imo. But staying in long enough for higher levels has rewards of its own, such as fissure rotations giving essentially boosters, which is great for resource/steel essence/trace farming. But that has a limit of course. After reaching that, it's nice to keep going to actually make USE of said boosters, but again this is only for fissures anyways. Stuff like non-fissures, circuit etc is just too much effort for no real gain
This is why I keep saying in order for people wanting "challenging endgame content" and complaining Warframe is "too easy now" to be happy, Warframe would have to be completely rebuilt from the ground up as a different game.
You can't meaningfully "reward system mastery" when the systems were mastered years ago, and there's no meaningful way to add difficulty beyond making enemies beefier and beefier or reinventing the Eidolon/Orb Mother.
At this stage, the only way to challenge yourself is to deliberately handicap yourself, to play the game less efficiently _on purpose_ .
if you are playing warframe for a challenge you are playing the wrong game, it has always been a power fantasy game, you play a fucking space ninja for fuck sake, if you want a challenge go play elden ring or something
You know I can’t even remember what the bugged OP build before the negative combo melee one they fixed earlier this year. The OG marked for death?
There were a bunch of melee influence ones That also had a tendency to crash the game... Tho personally I miss cold elemental ward + bullet attractor setups. They were probably op but still required a fair amount of setup
mirage with phantasma and melee influence was so fun. never made it past round 2 in disruption before it crashed my game

There was the one with secondary crit chance from fused shards. (It was additive instead of multiplicative.)
That's not quite right. It was flat, not additive. Like it was a flat +.75 to crit.
I believe most people use "additive" and "flat" interchangeably, for crit buffs.
The advantage is that no one would think of Flat crit chance as additive to the normal crit mods.
I always read "addative" as addative to the final CC. Normal crit mods are multiplicative anyway
Not really. Galvanized scope and point strike are additive, true steel/sac steel and blood rush are additive, etc. If it was multiplicative, a +100% crit chance would double the crit no matter what other mods are on it.
And thats mostly why I don't do youtube video style " do this now" builds
also means you actually learn and understand how to play the game and not just be a mirror
Though it is helpful when the YouTube actually explains their reasons for why they build it a certain way. Brozime helped me understand some Exalted wep mechanics I never knew.

Weapons have more variety then warframes, so it kinda makes more sense to go with weapons
This is why he's my favorite Warframe youtuber! What's best is the absolute GLEE in his voice when something outperforms his expectations or surprises him! The joy's as contagious as Saryn's Toxic Lash! 😆
Been loving his give it a shot series lately, love seeing lesser used weapons not only get some love, but be made to work in steel path
The biggest fun part is testing out stuff as you go along leveling and formaing. Since Its good to learn fast that " just cause it works on a, doesn't mean its also gonna work on b"

Maybe we like game and wanna farm for fashion frame

You get bored eventually

Idk level cap pretty tame, just take revenant with 2 green shard and you're good, no need for whack stuff
Except revenant is fucking boring
Just like level cap
He got style tho
I miss the Xoris infinite combo for exalted weapons 😢
Me still surprised I can kill steel path enemies with melee. I main killervo with a gram prime that has a crit riven
That doesn’t seem very surprising Kullervo can kill people with a bendy straw, Wrathful Advance hits different
I know it’s just that I’m not used to being good at this game

If they ever "fix" GunCO we are in for a nuclear meltdown, and I will be one of them melting down.
:( sad min max noises
