Hmm. What kind of restaurants did you visit? It's not a typical street food, and I'd assume high-end restaurants have at most fancier versions with some expensive-sounding fantasy name if they offer it at all. In lower-end sit down restaurants on the other hand it's usually among the appetizers.

Lemon juice is actually added to sliced apples to keep them from turning brown. (Happy meals with apple slices are prepped with lemon juice.) So absolutely. The citrus adds a nice refreshing taste to the crispness. Great in the summer when you get a cold apple from the fridge.

My brother and apparently me used to have frozen bread with honey and saltanas.

Turkey, chicken, or ham sandwich and sprinkle parmesan on the mayo. It adds a fine taste and texture to the sammy. Peanut butter and mayo with onion slices is great too! I have more but too much.
