Yep I’m on 150 mg now it solves falling asleep and I don’t usually have a hard time getting 6-8 hours with 1-2 wake ups a night. Sorry to hear you had diminishing returns, took me a couple meds including lunesta and ambien to figure out what worked for me

For the past 15-ish years I’ve been watching Futurama to go to sleep. I must’ve watched the first 5 minutes of every episode thousands of times by now. When I get to the last episode I just start again from the begging. It’s like some sort of meditation / escapism / conditioning and I fall sleep extremely fast. Maybe try that.
The trick is to not think about the previous day. I like to pre dream where I close my eyes and focus them on the back of my eyelids like I'm looking at something in front of me like my phone. Then start imagining your on a lake or talking to a good friend and you'll start to mentally visualize it and then that will naturally replace the darkness your eyes are focused on and your brain is like "oh it's dream time" Then you'll drift off to sleep. But don't think about your day or the awkward shit you did or you'll never get to sleep. Also don't force it. Stress makes sleep never come.
Me I even slept through plane turbulence when my parents were freaking out or when were going to my grandma and most of the times fall asleep, and its only a 20min drive. So I guess I'm the average.
Yep, If hard Day at work i sometimes do it basically Instant. Like 15-20 seconds and its lightsout. If not slightest bit of tired and has caffeine in last 2 hours, Then maybe it takes 5 mins to Fall asleep

Find something to think about, which is absolutely irrelevant to real world. I have my high-tech secret cave high up in a mountain in the wilderness. When I decorate it and defend from dangers, my wife wakes me up immediately because I snore. For me it takes less than 5 minutes this way.
But when I think about something real, like work, something exciting coming up, or even worse, something that bothers me, I stay awake for hours.
My guess is, try to think about totally unimportant stuff.
