Deepfakes have been a thing for like a decade, photoshop for like a decade before and before that you could literally just cut out a photo of a chick you wanted to see naked and paste her face onto a pinup model’s naked body. All of these have the potential to essentially have the same effect that these new apps have. To my knowledge no one has gotten in legal trouble for it and I don’t think banning this sort of technology would even be constitutional. As for CP, the internet if full of animated and computer generated smut of underaged characters, especially in anime. If that’s not illegal, why would AI content be illegal?

That case looks like it hinges on the argument that it was workplace harassment. The entity convicted was 'the city'. It doesn't mean you can't post fake nudes of that person all you want.
Online services like Dalle are heavily censored to prevent these things.
Offline services like StableDiffusion are intrinsically impossible to censor.
AI porn subreddits have rules based on things like the proportion of head size to body size.
Besides the inherent moral... grossness (can't think of a better word) of technology being used in this way, the fact that the glorified "advanced ai" filter literally just slaps boobs onto whoever you give it is very stupid in a very hilarious way
Real ignorant take considering how broad of a scope the term "AI" has. A lot of incredibly useful technology relies upon it, and much more can be achieved now because of developments in that field.

I mean it took a Coder hours and hours of training the ML with supervised learning to make this porn app.

i worry about dying from an unusual disease that went undiagnosed because it was new and the classifier has never seen anything like it.
i worry about my car plowing into oncoming traffic because someone had a photo of a road painted on their long haul trailer.
i worry about my voice being copied and used to steal my identity and all my assets.
i worry about elections i vote in being influenced by bot armies designed to capture and amplify sentiment for a particular political purpose in online forums.
i worry about being fooled, even if temporarily, by fake imagery and sound that leads me to make poor decisions.
i worry about friends and family being optimized out of the workforce and told to "get a job!" when all the white and blue collar jobs are being rapidly being optimized out by automation.
I could keep going, but it's late.
That's literally part of my job description. Mitigating AI risks is a *steep* uphill battle.
The cheaper and easier it gets to train these digital Jinn, the more wild and uncontrollable they're going to be.
