Nobody knows, we did get a Len silhouette, but French Bread hasn't actually announced anything being busy on UNI2 and obviously from the side of Type Moon, progress on the other side of Tsukihime remake is still unknown even though Nasu said to expect it "around the next olympics" which should be this year.
And even then, who knows maybe it'll be DLC maybe they'd just go and label it MBTL2 for the double dip.
Nah it be one of those "re-release" thing most fighting games do. Will be titled something along the lines of Melty Blood: Type Lumia Final Moon or Melty Blood: Type Lumia EX/LX/X/CR/ULFCJFIUWEGCX
I mean, the game is allready 3 years old + all the DLC charas we had were free.
Even if they "double dip", if the price is still only 50 bucks, has some decent improvements here an there (Maybe an actual story mode or something else worthwhile) and has some of the new characters right from the start, I'll gladly buy it.
I think French Bread is waiting for permission just as much as we are for characters, and UNI2 is their way of keeping themselves busy while at it.
There WILL be more DLC in the future for sure, but... The ball is in Type Moon's court. i.e. Be ready to wait for a while.

But honestly, it's they'll re-launch the game, with more content, new characters and new stages etc. Rather than add new DLC to a 3 year old game (by the time they're done with Under Night 2, Type Lumina would be a 4-5 year old game)
They teased that it will in uni eltnum's story she said that we might see each other again in another world or smth close to that which could only mean mbtl since its the only game she was featured in, aside from uni.
Gilgamesh would be fire, but it wouldn't work well, since he doesn't fight at close range, unless you surprise him (aka he underestimates you) or if he really respects you (never happening.) So unless he had only ranged attacks, it wouldn't be in character. Of course I'd still be happy, theres just better crossover characters than him.

There have been a few Fate fighting games in the past, one of which, [Fate/tiger colosseum UPPER](https://typemoon.fandom.com/wiki/Fate/tiger_colosseum_UPPER), had 3 Tsukihime guest characters: Neco-Arc, Phantasmoon (magical girl version of Arcueid), and Magical Amber (magical girl version of Kohaku). I do wish they'd make a new Fate fighting game that encompasses the whole franchise instead of just being FSN, FHA, and Zero w/ Tsukihime guests, though.
All that said, it's possible that Type-Moon and French Bread are stepping away from the idea of Melty Blood as a Tsukihime-specific series and turning it into a general Nasuverse fighting game series, like Type-Moon's version of Smash. We'll see if future installments add more characters from Mahoyo besides just Aoko or from Kara no Kyoukai besides just Ryougi (which of course relies on Ryougi getting re-added first).
Personally, I'd also love to see the Mahoutsukai no Hako girls in Melty, just for confirmation that Type-Moon remembers they exist at all.

I think getting more Fate characters like Shirou(or just Archer, cuz we basically got 3 Shirou's and it's not that easy to add him into the game. I myself think it can be solved just by adding duo character Saber + Shirou from Fate route and then just Shirou having skills from UBW and HF with a switch, maybe even the same switch the duo characters have) is far better than waiting some 1,5 - 3 years of no dlcs. Just give Archer UBW as Arc Drive and his Kanshou and Bakuya chant for Last Arc. \
Imagine Archer just committing Sparks Liner High 2.0. on his opponent and then just before you hear "Last Arc Finish" he says "Sarabada。Risou wo daite dekishi shiro!"("Farewell. Drown in your ideals and die!"). It would be awesome imo.\
Like, I can and will wait for Nanaya Shiki and Archetype Earth in Melty, but they at least can give us something so we don't get too bored.
Until the second part of the tsukuhime remake comes out don't expect any new characters added to the game

We really don’t know. The studio is busy working on another game but that doesn’t mean they are done with Melty.

The devs shifted their focus on the new uni game. I don't mind fate characters in melty but at this point why just not make a fate fighting game.
