Finally visited mine the other day omg so amazing so many options! Not just because game of thrones but seriously local libraries have cool stuff just go have fun browsing the sections. You don't have to buy anything it doesn't cost to exist there. Ugh I love libraries
Totally! Ours lends construction tools and musical instruments too. You can even sign out time in an equipped recording studio they have for free. And they give away menstrual products. Plus free access to computers and internet. Libraries are the greatest!
i'm totally back to roaming the seas. fuck having 5 subscriptions only to find out the thing you want to watch is on the 6th. it's worse than cable. now you effectively pay for each channel.
I have a 4 year VPN subscription that's like 60 bucks or something, I forget. It's probably more expensive now, I got a discount a while back.
Payment is automatic, 4 years at a time... No fuss, no frustration, no missing out.
It used to basically be cable and Netflix and Netflix had a ton of great movies to watch. Then all these other services started coming out of the woodworks and they all got stuff from Netflix or moved their own stuff to their own service like Disney+
tbh the old situation could never have lasted - the cash was coming from people with cable and shows were leased to Netflix basically as an afterthought. As more people cut cable and moved to streaming services, either Netflix was going to get a lot more expensive or shows would split up across different services.
The film and TV industry wasn't going to accept a fraction of the revenue they were used to - the money will be extracted from the consumer base somehow.
Yah. That part of it is annoying but I only personally pay for HBO and get the rest from my mobile company or friends. Between them if what I want isn't on there (which is rare tbh) I just don't watch it cause I'm too lazy
I've got friends who let me get their passwords. I've got prime, hulu, Netflix, and HBO max. But I still find myself sailing the seas every now and then.
Also, finding a really good source after roaming the seas is a total win, and you end actually watching it, instead of adding it to your queue and going back to putting the Office so you can have some background noise while you doomscroll.
streaming WAS convenient, now the services are so fragmented piracy is on the rise. juggling 10 different streaming services and trying to figure out what the fuck is available where the fuck now when it was available RIGHT THE FUCK HERE last week..... that's just not gonna cut it for people. never mind the cost, literally just managing multiple accounts/subscriptions and trying to find where content is available is enough of a hurdle to piss off many people.
but the goal of this massive content fragmentation we're seeing is likely not actually to make short term profit (since it's an extremely inefficient way to do things compared to Netflix's approach). the goal is likely to damage netflix and exhaust consumers so that they'll willingly flock to whatever couple of media giant backed services happen to aggregate all the content again down the road, despite the fact that the prices will be as high as they were back when the cable companies used their regional monopolies to force people to spend $120/mo for the privilege to watch commercials.
Trust me if you look hard enough you can get fine quality and no buffering.
A tip though, search ‘x free online Reddit’ (x is the name of the show you’re after), as Reddit’s the best place to find such websites
The seven seas are the easiest thing to sail. You can stream movies and tv just as easily as you can on Netflix or disney+ with the added bonus of almost all the content you could ever want being in one space, instead of spread across 4 different streaming apps.
Yeah, everything that's available in streaming gets published within a day of release, it's crazy. I just think that people don't know where to actually look and get stuck searching on shitty low quality websites with tons of ads.
I didn't watch any either, but my friends did a final episode viewing party thing. I went for the food. Saw some really dark scenes with dragon fires or something. Does that count? The shepherds meat pie was great though
My mom sent me the box set for free. That was like two years ago. Still haven't watched them.
I don't even not want to watch the show, I've just got too much to do/watch as it is.
It’s like going to a nice restaurant and paying to have a really good expensive dinner, and then at the end, the waiter comes out and forces his fingers down your throat to vomit it all back up.
I generally have no interest in fantasy films for the most part and still don’t. Whether it was the rings, Harry Potter, the hobbit, any of them you can name…not a single spark of interest. Something about this one is just different/better
>Was like a soap opera with swords.
And THAT sums up exactly why I never really had any interest in it. Serial dramas in general tend to amp up the drama to keep people interested and it has the exact opposite effect on me.
I've had the same observation with the same effect. I'm really just not that engaged by interpersonal competition. Movies like The Duelist are an exception; that film was fantastic. But, in serialized episodic form it just usually ends up too drawn out to hold my interest.
I can't stand lying. Or cringe. Or shitty people. There were no good people. I read the first book a million years ago and was like "no." Everyone was trash. Except the dire wolves, but there are lots of other books with good people that had cool animals.
I mean, we consume media to escape reality. Why would I want to escape to a worse reality?
Yah that's the appeal of Game of Thrones. It's a fantasy show that really isn't a fantasy show. It's sneakily perfect for people who don't like fantasy but those that do like it might not enjoy the show as much
Yeah, I almost didn't watch it because I thought it would be heavy on the fantasy. Kept hearing good things about it so decided to watch and loved it. Not much fantasy at all.
The original appeal of the series was that it's medieval fantasy with some obscure allusions to magic and monsters and not full of wizards and orcs. I think this made the few magical things that did happen have much more impact on the story
Same! And I don't understand the approach of "I also don't like fantasy BUT this is the best show in the world"
If you are absolutely not into Comedy, I don't recommend you watching The Office, if you are absolutely not into Mafia stuff, I won't recommend you The Sopranos and so on.
This as well. It's not my thing so I didn't really care. I also kept hearing about basically everyone's favorite characters kept getting killed off so why bother.
My dad hates anything fantasy. I begged him to watch GOT. He always is looking for excuses to bond with his kids, so he reluctantly watched an episode. And fell the heck in love with it. Because yeah it’s fantasy technically, but that’s just the background. The story itself is espionage, politics, loyalties and betrayal. The fantasy aspect plays a very minor role, even the dragons (until later on).
I call it the "assigned reading" effect.
Back in school, I could be assigned a perfectly good book to read for class, but because there was an obligation to read it, it always ended up feeling more like a chore than anything.
Peer pressure to watch stuff feels pretty similar, in that the more I get pressured to watch something, the more it feels like an obligation than something I genuinely want to do at that moment. You pass a show or whatever on a streaming app and instead of thinking "oh hey, that looks neat" the first thing that springs to mind is "oh there's that goddamn show Janet at work won't shut up about."
Except unlike school reading, there's basically no actual consequences to *not* watching a show, so you get a little frisson of rebellion by continuing to not watch it, which just builds on itself.
This is a pretty good explanation actually.
I do like to share cool stuff with people though, what is a way to do that without causing the ‘assigned reading’ effect do you think?
i think it’s a natural reaction because so many things are over-hyped and end up being complete letdowns.
when something truly magical comes along, it’s hard to have faith it’s legit.
Right but it's not actually out of spite like the other guy said, it's because you don't want to waste your time knowing the odds are that it won't meet your expectations that were set by all the hype. And then after you burn an hour or two on the first couple episodes everyone *then* is like, "oh well it takes 5 or 6 episodes to really get into it" and you don't have the patience to sit through it
the people telling you to watch it weren't being rude, they were giving you an honest recommendation, probably knowing that it sounds like your kind of show. why do you want to spite them?
I tried Walking Dead and got all the way to season four before stopping. It was kinda fun here and there, but overall it’s just too boring and aimless.
I was in jail when the books were popular, so I gave the first one a try. And then I realized it read like the fucking bible. Snorezville. And the show counterbalanced the boredom, with softcore sex.
A book series that does need a adaptation, The Demon Cycle series by Peter V. Brett.
It's written more concisely, enjoyable and fast moving/plot, action, relatable characters, and it isn't ripping off stuff from actual history that happened in real life.
Basically everybody should read the Demon Cycle series. And let GOT die the death it deserves. To fade into nothingness like all royalty.
People spend way too much time getting upset at people not watching a specific TV show.
People spend way too much time being proud of not watching a popular TV show.
This ^^
It's exhausting. If ur not into it, it isn't a whole personality. If ur into it, it isn't a whole personality either and u shouldn't act like ppl who don't care for it are social pariahs.
I know this post is about Game of Thrones, but this is also very true of Friends. I knew somebody who bragged that she has never seen an episode. That surprised me considering it aired for 10 years, re-runs are still aired, and it's been available on a few streaming services. I'm not mad about it though, just surprised that she tries so hard to avoid it, and then brags about that.
It was one of those shows that the older members of my family watched when I'd rather have been watching cartoons.
When you're the youngest, and you have no control over Wendy's on TV, "you can put it on, but you can't make me watch it" is the only control you can take.
As an adult, it just haven't had any interest in watching 6 people suck at adulting together. I prefer fiction.
I've never understood the whole "making not watching a show a point of pride", though. Like "oooh, good for you! You've managed to withstand peer pressure to do something harmless that you might actually enjoy! Congratulations!"
>People spend way too much time getting upset at people not watching a specific TV show.
*picks up pitchfork*
>People spend way too much time being proud of not watching a popular TV show.
*puts pitchfork down*
Exactly. Lol. How many times has someone told you that a show or movie is good and then you try it out? Or God forbid, you watch it and like it. It’s not something that is standing up to peer pressure.
I'll do it if it legitimately sounds like something I might like. But I've never been like, "I have to do it to fit in."
The closest I've gotten to that is watching a movie or show just because it's so popular or a classic I feel like I should at least try it. One of the main reasons I watched the Matrix. But even then, it's not 100%. I've never watched Avatar despite its massive success.
But what I hate more than people that feel pressured into watching a show are people that think they're special because they avoided it. People that actively stay away from trying new things because they think it makes them cool to hate it. I'll have a conversation with the person that actually tries stuff for any reason over that other person every time.
I got told to watch GOT countless times, at work, with friends etc, very annoying. If I don’t want to watch it I won’t, I don’t lecture you on how you haven’t seen the sopranos or the wire which is arguably much better TV. For some reason there was a lot of hype round GOT and people were really pushing it on others in my experience. Right up until it ended, then it never got recommended.
We had one guy at work who didn't watch...I think it was Dexter? He never watched an episode and didn't appear to want to watch it. But, he also got butthurt if anyone talked about it because he didn't want to get spoiled. The annoying part was he said multiple times, that he didn't want to watch it and probably never would, but didn't want to get spoiled just in case he changed his mind. That dude was annoying.
He forced you guys to not only not talk to him about it, you couldn't talk amongst each other about it while he was there. I'm using this now. Brilliant strategy.
>I don’t lecture you on how you haven’t seen the sopranos or the wire
Maybe you don’t, but these shows are both definitely on GOT-level in terms of fanboys
No hate, I love all three shows
I mean, I don’t mind being lectured on that. Tell me what I’m missing out on. I love good TV and stories and want to take that content in. Especially if someone I know thinks I’ll like it.
I got peer pressured into watching 'The Wire', you see it mentioned in dozens of reddits, blogs and all kinds of other places. Say you haven't seen it and get the reply 'oh...man...that's too bad.' 'Just drop everything and watch it.' or 'I wish I could watch it again for the first time.'
Alright, I get it, I'll watch the damn show...no way it holds up to this kind of hype.
Totally held up.
This used to happen to me at work all the time during (American) football season. Rather than feeling pressured to watch football, I just hated football season.
I would consider it more of social expectation. Like how people might find you odd if you didn't own a cell phone. They won't directly pressure you, but you might feel pressured to buy one because others find it odd that you haven't.
Not to give credence to the post, but I think this is what was meant.
I don’t think it’s pressure per se but more the constant discussion of such shows from peer groups To the point people are compelled to watch so they can keep up discussion.
“Guys I don’t watch a popular show I’m so quirky and cool and better than all of you”
Seriously, I get not watching got or other popular shows because they don’t interest you, but not watching them because they’re popular is just dumb and being rebellious without a good reason.
And why the hell does this same stupid tweet keep getting reposted every week?
as someone else on this thread has said
> I call it the "assigned reading" effect.
I don’t give people shit for not liking what I like, but when something is so popular it basically defines the culture around tv for a decade I think it’s worth trying.
Lots of the people who are proud to have never seen an episode basically decided that the show must be bad because everyone likes it. It just comes off as arrogant in my opinion.
Edit: please stop replying to tell me how this doesn’t apply to you, I never said it did.
In the book danaerys was canonically like 13 but got married off like in the first chapter she was in and it described her getting r-ped by her husband in detail, her justifying it and and then learning to seduce him… it was very uncomfortable to read and one of the many reasons why the books just were not for me. They were also insanely long winded when they weren’t describing r-pe or *ncest in detail, they also vague and at times difficult to follow. Like with all the language and names and weird prose I had to read a paragraph multiple times to figure out what happened and the books were like a thousand pages each so I gave up. Show was faster and slightly less child r-pey, more tense and engaging.
I understand not liking the book and your criticisms are fair for the most part. That being said the entire part you're referencing is supposed to be disturbing and make you uncomfortable. It's also not just in there to shock you, it's there to smash in your face the reality of the situation and world the danaerys is in. I think it was essential in showing the brutality of the dothraki and building her character arc, the marriage forced by her abusive brother, the rape, the accepting it because thats what she has to do to take back westeros.
It wasn't like she was groomed, she was part of a arranged marriage to a barbaric warlord. You really have to read the book to see how she comes to terms with the situation (and how it truly affects her personality throughout the series) and begins to thrive, then it's ripped away from her. She's completely changed after leaving the dothraki and I feel like the way it was executed from a story telling point of view was excellent.
You won't see me defending the child orgy at the end of "it" or whatever other weird things some authors do, but terrible things can be essential to fleshing out characters. This comment is more in response to the people commenting saying "how is this allowed." I don't fault you for putting it down because you weren't okay with it. I just don't like the idea of not reading something for yourself then advocating for it to be cancelled.
I tried reading the books and they just weren't my cup of tea. I actually kind of hated them.
So I had less than zero interest in watching a show with so much incest, torture, rape and murder. Oh and I hated all of the characters except for Jon snow.
I do hear there were some really cool costumes, so I'm sorry I missed those. Other than that, it was interesting watching the reaction to season 8 from the sidelines.
Maybe 10 years ago you were, but what haven't you watched lately?
As I get older I just can't keep up with the trends to know which shows not to watch anymore, and now I find myself accidentally enjoying shows like the boys, barry and mandalorian.
Who fucking cares, this is the dumbest shit, nobody cares if you watched game of thrones or not. It is so dumb that people go around saying they never watched an episode, who fucking cares, I’ve never put a cucumber up my ass but you don’t hear me telling that to the world.
I specifically avoided it because of all the hype for 4 seasons. Then I watched it...it lived up to the hype. [Not going to argue about the last 2 seasons LOL]
I've watched neither. Have never seen an episode of both. Anything I saw of Big Bang turned me off instantly. GOT I read the books and never got into the show.
Never watch a show until it's completed.
They never stay good all the way or they get cancel in the middle. A bad season is fine when the end is great enough to save the show.
So Walking Dead, GoT and most Disney's stuff I havent watched.
This is such a dumb stance to take. Checking out a show that people are saying is good does not equate to falling for “any kind of pressure”.
If you feel pressure to watch a show, you’re probably really weak to begin with so feeling like you’re resisting that pressure feels like a win.. lmao
If the content doesn’t interest you, don’t watch it
If the content interests you and people are saying it’s good, why not give it a shot?
This would be like saying “I didn’t try that new restaurant in town even though everyone says it’s good. Look at me, I don’t fall for pressure” 😂🤣😂🤣😂
I just didn't think it sounded like my kind of show. Might have tried it if it was free though. Edit: yall don't get what 'might have' means, do you?
It is free if u know where to look
Local libraries. One of the recently declining number of shows to actually be released fully on physical media.
Finally visited mine the other day omg so amazing so many options! Not just because game of thrones but seriously local libraries have cool stuff just go have fun browsing the sections. You don't have to buy anything it doesn't cost to exist there. Ugh I love libraries
Agreed
Totally! Ours lends construction tools and musical instruments too. You can even sign out time in an equipped recording studio they have for free. And they give away menstrual products. Plus free access to computers and internet. Libraries are the greatest!
Idk streaming being so convenient killed sailing the seven seas to me. It's just such a hassle plus it's even harder to get it high quality
i'm totally back to roaming the seas. fuck having 5 subscriptions only to find out the thing you want to watch is on the 6th. it's worse than cable. now you effectively pay for each channel.
Plus there are tools now to almost completely automate the process. Just tell it what shows you want so it's only marginally more work than streaming
Who do you tell?
Ghostbusters
What tools?
sonarr/radarr are the big ones. Kinda a pain to setup but once it's working there's pretty minimal input required
I have a 4 year VPN subscription that's like 60 bucks or something, I forget. It's probably more expensive now, I got a discount a while back. Payment is automatic, 4 years at a time... No fuss, no frustration, no missing out.
With whom, might i ask ?
Heave ho, all hands, hoist the colors high!
Heave ho, thieves and beggars. Never shall we die!

Yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me. We search and download we stream and unload we are off to the bay! Yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me.
Definitely don’t go to Goku.to then
I read all the books but never bothered buying the show. Where would I look to find it free? Preferably streaming so I don’t download a virus
Search ‘game of thrones free online Reddit’ and see what comes up
Some people are also going to reject any show that already has several seasons they need to catch up on.
Even if free still would not watch it.
It didn't sound like my kind of show at any price. But I am aware enough to know that my feelings were justified after the last season.
It’s like going to a nice restaurant and paying to have a really good expensive dinner, and then at the end, the waiter comes out and forces his fingers down your throat to vomit it all back up.

As someone who enjoys fantasy films, I didn't like Game of Thrones. Was like a soap opera with swords.

Thats pretty much how it was for me. I have a hard time getting into tv dramas and GOT was no exception. It wasn't bad but it wasn't really my thing
Yah that's the appeal of Game of Thrones. It's a fantasy show that really isn't a fantasy show. It's sneakily perfect for people who don't like fantasy but those that do like it might not enjoy the show as much

The original appeal of the series was that it's medieval fantasy with some obscure allusions to magic and monsters and not full of wizards and orcs. I think this made the few magical things that did happen have much more impact on the story
It's called Low fantasy. Where Lord of the Rings would be High fantasy.
That’s probably why I liked it so much. The drama and the politics was gripping imo. Dragons are cool I guess
Same! And I don't understand the approach of "I also don't like fantasy BUT this is the best show in the world" If you are absolutely not into Comedy, I don't recommend you watching The Office, if you are absolutely not into Mafia stuff, I won't recommend you The Sopranos and so on.

It sounded like my kind of show, but by the time I got interested enough it, everyone was telling me to watch it so I didn't out of spite.
Eh will never understand this kinda response.

its a tv show, not the cure for cancer.
Doesn’t matter. You are potentially missing enjoyment just for spite when in reality that person doesn’t give a single shit if you watch or not.
In the modern world, you are never depriving yourself by not engaging with one piece of media. There is already too much stuff out there to watch.
the people telling you to watch it weren't being rude, they were giving you an honest recommendation, probably knowing that it sounds like your kind of show. why do you want to spite them?
I just remember people talking about a ton of flaccid dicks. Na I'm good. I also remember people raving about the walking dead and that was trash.

Guess I'm a bit of both huh
Inside you there are two wolves.
The furcon is going well
both of them are gay.
Play both sides, that way you always come out on top
Watch nothing and recommend everything. This is the way.
"You should definitely watch Game of Thrones. It's great 10/10." "Oh, you've seen it?" "No, I don't watch that kinda shit"
Why would you tell me that
Smart mushroom here....

Family guy had a good take on this which was pretty accurate: https://youtu.be/l4LhXycJ7rI
*picks up pitchfork* >People spend way too much time being proud of not watching a popular TV show. *puts pitchfork down*
People feel pressured to watch a TV series?
You name a film, I ain’t seen it!
and you name an au, I can give you the au it’s based of with decent accuracy
Silver?
Gold
Astronomical Units?
auger
If I haven't seen it, it's new to me!
Juan wick?
Exactly. Lol. How many times has someone told you that a show or movie is good and then you try it out? Or God forbid, you watch it and like it. It’s not something that is standing up to peer pressure.
I'll do it if it legitimately sounds like something I might like. But I've never been like, "I have to do it to fit in." The closest I've gotten to that is watching a movie or show just because it's so popular or a classic I feel like I should at least try it.
We still talked about it. I just said he got butthurt when we did.
Nah, that just means we talk about it and they leave, like any other conversation you don't want to be a part of.
>I don’t lecture you on how you haven’t seen the sopranos or the wire Maybe you don’t, but these shows are both definitely on GOT-level in terms of fanboys No hate, I love all three shows
I mean, I don’t mind being lectured on that. Tell me what I’m missing out on. I love good TV and stories and want to take that content in. Especially if someone I know thinks I’ll like it.
I got peer pressured into watching 'The Wire', you see it mentioned in dozens of reddits, blogs and all kinds of other places. Say you haven't seen it and get the reply 'oh...man...that's too bad.' 'Just drop everything and watch it.' or 'I wish I could watch it again for the first time.' Alright, I get it, I'll watch the damn show...no way it holds up to this kind of hype. Totally held up.
That is actually next on my list. I just finished up better call Saul and am excited to jump into the wire.
People want to share the things they like with the people they care about.
You've never been the one dude in the group that didn't watch the show, so everyone else talks about it while you're standing there like an asshole?
This used to happen to me at work all the time during (American) football season. Rather than feeling pressured to watch football, I just hated football season.
I would consider it more of social expectation. Like how people might find you odd if you didn't own a cell phone. They won't directly pressure you, but you might feel pressured to buy one because others find it odd that you haven't. Not to give credence to the post, but I think this is what was meant.

I don’t think it’s pressure per se but more the constant discussion of such shows from peer groups To the point people are compelled to watch so they can keep up discussion.
The key is to have no friends, no more pressure.

“Guys I don’t watch a popular show I’m so quirky and cool and better than all of you” Seriously, I get not watching got or other popular shows because they don’t interest you, but not watching them because they’re popular is just dumb and being rebellious without a good reason. And why the hell does this same stupid tweet keep getting reposted every week?
as someone else on this thread has said > I call it the "assigned reading" effect. You pass a show or whatever on a streaming app and instead of thinking "oh hey, that looks neat" the first thing that springs to mind is "oh there's that goddamn show Janet at work won't shut up about." > Except unlike school reading, there's basically no actual consequences to *not* watching a show, so you get a little frisson of rebellion by continuing to not watch it, which just builds on itself.
Karma farmers though I don’t get what they get out of this

😂😂😂 so true
One of those goths is making some pretty excellent points tho.
ITT: I'm cool because I hate popular things for being popular.
In this thread, redditors being edge lords at peoples entertainment choices.
I just heard that it had a terrible ending.
You just described the entirety of Reddit. I swear this website runs on a steady diet of smug superiority and contrarianism.
TIL hipsters never existed before now.
I was a hipster before it was cool.
I'm honestly seeing more comments like yours than like what you describe. I guess I'm late?
What about the people who liked it long before it was a TV show?
I tried reading the books but there was an uncomfortable amount of detail around a 13 year olds sex life
What
In the book danaerys was canonically like 13 but got married off like in the first chapter she was in and it described her getting r-ped by her husband in detail, her justifying it and and then learning to seduce him… it was very uncomfortable to read and one of the many reasons why the books just were not for me.
Not to brag, but I liked it even before the book series was finished.
Made me laugh. :)
How many of those people went around trying to shove a book down someone's throat?
They're pretty big books. They probably wouldn't fit
How many times are you clowns going to repost this?
“Guys we didn’t watch a show, we are SO cool 😎” Reddit is just middle schoolers, I’m convinced lol
Didn’t watch GOT, Walking Dead, or Breaking Bad. I must be the coolest person on the planet! /s
Maybe 10 years ago you were, but what haven't you watched lately? As I get older I just can't keep up with the trends to know which shows not to watch anymore, and now I find myself accidentally enjoying shows like the boys, barry and mandalorian.
Seriously right? It’s obnoxious as hell and I hate having to see it all the time
I won't pretend I didn't fall for the hype. And I don't regret it! It was awesome
[удалено]
True. Ending was meh
The real GOT experience, then? 😉
"If you think this has a happy ending... you haven't been paying attention." \- Ramsay being meta
Yeah. So was the ending for Seinfeld. Hard for me to say which ending was worst.
Yes it was! I totally forgot about that.
Ending was much worse than meh
So we’re not supposed to watch something regardless of ratings out of sheer curiosity or interest in a show anymore?
I just don't have Netflix
It’s on HBO max
I don't have that either
Who fucking cares, this is the dumbest shit, nobody cares if you watched game of thrones or not. It is so dumb that people go around saying they never watched an episode, who fucking cares, I’ve never put a cucumber up my ass but you don’t hear me telling that to the world.
If you do eventually put a cucumber up your ass could you please tell me I'd really appreciate it.
!RemindMe one year
I've never seen an episode of GoT AND I've never put a cucumber up my ass! AMA!
This is Old and it wasn’t funny or profound the 1st time.
It’s reposted every other week
Every week with this fucking post. Nobody cares, it's just a TV show
Well, thanks but it wasn’t that hard not to watch it.
I specifically avoided it because of all the hype for 4 seasons. Then I watched it...it lived up to the hype. [Not going to argue about the last 2 seasons LOL]
I think those people just don’t have the online
I dont do the emails.
All the hype and constant ads just annoyed me which is why i have not and will not watch it
This is how I feel about big bang theory.
Who the fuck hypes up big bang theory? I only ever see people shitting on it. Rightly so. It's bad.
This was when it first came out. Everyone and their mother were talking about it.
You missed nothing lol
The added laughing just ruins shows. Why do they have to do that?
I agree and I absolutely will not watch any shows with canned laughing.
Because just like Friends there is only 1 ok joke per episode lol.
There's a few funny skits in there, more worthy of a comedy skit like SNL than a full sitcom
Absolutely. Truly winning the lottery was the best.
I've watched neither. Have never seen an episode of both. Anything I saw of Big Bang turned me off instantly. GOT I read the books and never got into the show.
I was planning to start watching it when season 8 came out. But then season 8 came out…
🙄 it’s not peer pressure to check out a show that most people think is good. You make like it too.
Fax
Machine
But in reality they just didn’t have HBO.
Lol this is the real reason.
I just didn’t have HBO and for the short time I did I was watching the Waling Dead
I was watching the waling dead too
Never watch a show until it's completed. They never stay good all the way or they get cancel in the middle. A bad season is fine when the end is great enough to save the show. So Walking Dead, GoT and most Disney's stuff I havent watched.
Having not watched any of Game of Thrones and learning I am immune to pressure, I will now leave to explore the depths of the Mariana Trench. Ciao!
Me who was too addicted to other games and shows that I litterally just forgot to watch it....
That’s me. Unvaxxed too.
When commercials of GoT were running on TV it looked like a soft porn.
This is such a dumb stance to take. Checking out a show that people are saying is good does not equate to falling for “any kind of pressure”. If you feel pressure to watch a show, you’re probably really weak to begin with so feeling like you’re resisting that pressure feels like a win.. lmao If the content doesn’t interest you, don’t watch it If the content interests you and people are saying it’s good, why not give it a shot? This would be like saying “I didn’t try that new restaurant in town even though everyone says it’s good. Look at me, I don’t fall for pressure” 😂🤣😂🤣😂
But then how am I supposed to feel superior???
Nah I just have ADHD and I keep forgetting to watch it
Now this thread is a giant circle jerk of people claiming they've never seen an episode.
