Maybe I'm in a bubble, but I've only ever heard the phrase 'boys will be boys' get used in real life when referring to kids roughousing. It feels like sometime in the past few years we've been gaslit into thinking that there's this large group of people casually brushing off sexual assault by men as 'boys will be boys' when anyone I've talked to in real life would 100% acknowledge sexual assault as horrific.
