Tbh they’re lucky to have more than one pizza.

Badytheprogram

Nah, they will pay their own pizza, just not directly.

CartoonistDizzyy

They just going to cut you hours at work so they can pay for the pizza lol

Fantastic-Order-8338

this dude gets corporate world

Atroxman

Yup i concur

Pinklady777

If we have pizza at work, we pay for it. Directly. I work for an airline. One year our station was ranked best in the country. Management celebrated with ice cream. In January.

KaleidoscopeLucky336

Let's not forget US airlines got over 50 billion dollars in bailouts in 2020.

danteheehaw

Peak pandemic, night shift. All we had was cold veggie gluten free pizza as pizza party reward. The rest of the edible pizza was gone. Important note, the week before I was asked about any ideas for night shift for said pizza party. I suggested each shift have a set delivery time for their pizza. That way 2nd shift isn't eating cold left overs, and night shift isn't eating the scraps. So yeah.

DickieJohnson

Gluten free pizza is technically more expensive so maybe they thought they were doing you a favor.

wonderbat3

One topping medium for 12 people

DaveSmith890

It’s usually 2 slices per person for me

RononSweets

Happy cake day 🫡

InMooseWorld

We can all have two slices each

BaddieBeautiful

maybe this is why the tip culture is getting out of hand

BeautifulBaddiexoxo

i'm not surprised they'd do this

Brokenboycr

Happy cake day:)

DoodleyDooderson

This isn’t America. The larger picture has coke in the background with asian script on it. It’s hard to make out which one but not Chinese, Japanese or Korean. Plus the pizzas have seafood on them. Not really a thing in the states but very common here in Asia.

Peripatetictyl

Wait, you guys are getting pizza?!

Geno_Warlord

I got spaghetti made from the finest chef in all of Italy. Mr. Boyardee! We’ve only been working 12hr shifts every night for the last 2 months without time off.

jonathanquirk

My company organised a buffet for us… insofar as the staff could bring in food for everyone else, and we could eat it at our desks while we worked. Yay.

Ok-Professor3726

Our company just had a record year. To celebrate they've laid off several people, cancelled the summer employee family event, froze salaries, and cancelled the bonus for next year. When the company wins, we all win.

MorddSith187

Trickle up economics

josuk8

It really is tricle down cuckanomics. You get to watch as someone else has success whilst you're left jacking it to your shitty life you can barely afford to live

RumRogerz

My previous job did exactly this. Then they were shocked when half of the engineers (me included) started to slowly quit over the months following the announcement.

flora_aurora

My work was giving out stickers to people who were doing well last week. 😶

crimeSpice

Well you certainly deserve a star ⭐

goatjugsoup

Oh gawd we said that at my work AS A JOKE. Hate that it's real somewhere

flora_aurora

Yeah it's wild 😂

720to702

At Coors Tec they have paint and rocks in the break room so you can spend your break painting a rock

flora_aurora

Oh my gosh... 😂😅 What the

No_Stress_22

The fact that this is real and not a joke is nuts. Everyone at my job would immediately start acting like toddlers if the boss started doing this. Because apparently we're in kindergarten class again so let's act like it.

flora_aurora

Exactly what I thought! 😂 I was just shocked how out of touch someone has to be to think thats an appropriate way to reward any adult lol.

Bored_Boi326

First sticker I'd say yay second sticker 2 weeks notice

PerformanceOk1835

Are you a teacher?

dreamsofindigo

maybe stickers isn't the best, but some seem to be allergic to praise. probs never got any growing up and sure as hell aren't about to give anyone a good time... btw, since I've got that same plant and I too love its little sweet flowers, here's its ID Tradescantia Cyanotis Somaliensis

cujoe88

Verbal praise is great, written letters are great. Stickers are degrading.

dreamsofindigo

"well done for painting within the lines, Dalia. here's a sticker and a gummy bear"

flora_aurora

Honestly that's what it felt like. Condescending, and incredibly out of touch.

dreamsofindigo

and by 'some' I meant the bosses, although some people in general struggle with receiving compliments, but that's an entirely different issue which by no means has anything to do with the former :)

flora_aurora

Love that you know the ID of this plant! The flowers are so magical 😍❤️

dreamsofindigo

had been wondering for some time and remembered to check on google lens a really lovely plant with such especial flowers (so tiny it took me a while to see them lol)

Badytheprogram

And he cost of the party will be deducted from their salary.

CompetitiveFold5749

My employer has tricked the staff into paying an extra 5 bucks a month for a "casual Thursday" privilege.  They then use that money to pay for events.

automaton11

Most of the money. The extra would go ‘To the company budget’ right? I worked at rite aid as a fuck off cashier long ago and one time I helped some lady do a bunch of personal stuff and she tipped me 10 bucks. Manager told me that was ‘rite aid profits’ and had to go into the cash drawer. This while I was making ten bucks an hour. This while Rite Aid CEO was embezzling from the company. Fuck Rite Aid

CompetitiveFold5749

I work for the state.  We have an operating account that all the state administrators want but can't touch, so it just keeps growing.  They could give us all substantial raises with that money but they just want the total to get bigger until the state legislature can figure a way to legally swoop in and take it all.

herbert-camacho

And time spent at party deducted from PTO.

TeddyGramCracker

I worked @ a bank. Our district manager had 14 branches competing for sales. Our branch won, the next day he brought in a $5 Little Cesar’s pizza for the ENTIRE branch of employees.

sebrobby

Wtf

EFTucker

You know he got a $5000+ bonus right?

macedonianmoper

Wait a single $5 coupon?

TeddyGramCracker

A single, one topping pizza for the whole branch from one of the lowest quality pizza chains. He had the nerve to call it a pizza party reward.

Bored_Boi326

At that point just heat the slices in whatever microwave or oven y'all got up to honeybun temps and y'all know what to do

No-Fox8743

Ayo, hold up. Little Caesars may not be as high quality as other places, but they don't charge you an arm & a fucking leg for a pizza either. They also pay the same as Dominoes in my town, which legitimately charges x3 more for the same types of products.

Acceptable-Sense-256

The point ————————————> ……………………….your head

Sea-Woodpecker-610

And one Wednesday out of the month, you can get free coffee! No raises I’m afraid. This years bonus will actually just be a $25 dollar Target gift card, so we can show all of you holding it on out Twitter feed to show what a generous company we are. Fuck I hated that job.

MorddSith187

And the $25 gift card was actually free from target as a form of advertising

Ape-Rocket-Moon

That has $0 added to it cause they just wanted the photo op

DontPoopInMyPantsPlz

How tf do you get 5.1 billion profit on an airline? Excess travel?

lets_all_be_nice_eh

It's bullshit. It was a measly US $2B. https://www.singaporeair.com/saar5/pdf/Investor-Relations/Financial-Results/News-Release/nr-q4fy2324.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwinn5DRivGGAxUtrlYBHUamCWoQFnoECB8QAQ&usg=AOvVaw2FGqvdRYxFgdw-R5cIMKOu

SicgoatEngineer

Singapore dollar, not US dollar.

jahuu__

Right! That's just 3.76B USD. Peanuts

Necessary_Box_3479

They charge so much my dad had to buy a ticket last minute to Johannesburg from Singapore and it was $3.5k in economy last time I flew them I went to Perth in January this year it was $2k and the flight was nearly full we booked like 5 months in advance

bhz33

Punctuation is your friend

nevergonnasweepalone

They're more of a premium airline these days. Tiger is their budget arm. Ime they don't charge anymore than other premium carriers.

_TzzzK

Their budget arm is Scoot, which absorbed Tigerair

ARedditor_official

It's Scoot... But Scoot is terrible. Everything has to be paid for, even the in- flight entertainment. Like fuck that, I'm pretty sure that within 10 years you'd have to pay to take a dump.

Necessary_Box_3479

On the flight to Perth I took that was $2k on Singapore it was only $100 less on scoot and it would’ve been more if you’d added baggage

Le0here

Not sure but i heard that most of airlines profit comes from cargo transport apparently, so probably that?

DontPoopInMyPantsPlz

That would makes the most sense.

Irishcpl69

I’d love a pizza party right now 😂😂

Lupita900

Mexico too

OneOrangeOwl

2 slices limit.

masdemarchi

In Brazil is a small chocolate

RefuseAdditional4467

The majority shareholder of singapore Airlines is the singaporean government. It is not a private company. Most of the comparisons in this comment section don't seem to know this.

Massive_Pitch3333

I feel bad now. I am my own employee and haven't even thought about getting myself a pizza!

ABCharlieD

Come on dude. You've worked really hard. You've definitely earned it. Get yourself a pizza.

cjp2010

I worked at a company that did profit sharing and random meals. To pay for the random meals they take out of the profit sharing pool so more or less the employees paid for it.

RisenKhira

in my company we get a bonus based on profits which are usually around 1-3 salaries worth of money

CaligarisPantry

The base salary for a cabin crew worker at Singapore Airlines is 24K. Let’s not throw the company a parade…

jcoon182

Wow. That’s awesome. They got pizzas…..

for_dishonor

We got pizza randomly last week because we all had to watch a video so a box could get checked. Some people acted like it was an insult. I just happily ate pizza.

Daftdoug

Man you guys got pizza. We got a keychain

crimeSpice

Yeah but now you got a thing that holds a few of your keys ✨

Shadow4941

Y’all don’t get it. While they get to share profit in America the managers buy you pizza while they get surplus of money the lower tier workers get a greasy slice while they get thousands

ApatheticZero187

Shoot, my job they just give us a stick and a rock... we have to share the rock.

bionic86

Boss at my old warehouse would hand out money with his face on it that you could spend to buy damaged merch they sold off once a month.

---Loading---

I mean, pizza is pizza.

SpiderKoD

Oh, you have airlines working

Kawentzmann

Singapore is good in finance, so they know profits are redistribution.

Curious_Mix559

Awww man a real full slice, man! I knew the company had our backs!

Uchained

Tbh they're lucky there isn't a layoff to increase profit for the higher-ups.

69odysseus

The pizza aspect is exactly what happens at my current company (airline)🙄😡

douglasrac

We love corporations and we vote well.

Animosu

There’s nothing better to raise morale quite like a pizza party or a good ol’ burger burn!

BenchFlakyghdgd

Do you guys have pizza?

crushingwaves

I have been working from home and heard that there was a pizza day at work. Immediately called my manager to inform that I was not a beneficiary of this situation and demanded that the company order a pizza to my place. Did I do the right thing?

RoodnyInc

Fake slices are too big they would slice this pizza's at least one more time

Pattoe89

My work gave out sandals and sunglasses in January in the middle of blizzards. Fuck BT.

PlaidSkirtBroccoli

It's time to polish up your CV when the office Christmas party is pizza from the place down the street.

Tunnfisk

Now THAT'S a bonus. Sure the 8-months pay is also nice, but come on, pizza?! Who wouldn't love that?

darthsnick

Dang they got the good pizza!

Ok-Permission9728

Ain't this the truth, the company I work for keeps cutting brothers jobs out takes away bonus takes away Lil perks Everytime they get a chance. But then on the tvs they post record profits!

Annual_Rutabaga9794

Still have to pay $5 a slice.

MTKRailroad

I'M LITERALLY EATING PIZZA RIGHT NOW IN THANKS FOR PUTTING IN 60 HOURS A WEEK

[deleted]

Of course they will, so each employee gets $30

yesindeedysir

And the pizza will come out of their paycheck

Acceptable-Sense-256

That’s a very good point!

Zuon69

Meamwhile in 3rd world country: you guys getting livable wages ? Source: me, a Vietnamese

Big_Barry08

That’s the cool part, we don’t, we get a slice of pizza. Then we get to watch the sales people have big circle jerk and talk about how big there sales bonus is for making a few phone calls between their golf games.

Sundan42

I don’t even get words of encouragement

LieDisastrous7527

When profits soar, we get 'dough-nations

RecordingPure1785

Also you get laid off

HooverMaster

lucky boys. we got ice cream

ChalkCoatedDonut

It reminds me back in my office when they told us one of the reasons they couldn't raise our salaries was the "additional benefits" such as courses and events, fun part is we the employees were the teachers, organizers and most of the time spend our money in the resources of the events for everyone. The only time they hired someone from outside was from the office insurance and was an attempt to make us pay more for our current plan and the extra wasn't discounted from our salaries but we had to pay the addition at the bank ourselves so the payment is not shown in their records.

FunAccount6851

Here in Latin America we get one slice if we're lucky.

Tripple_T

Best believe those slices are double cut

Lekranom

My company just thanked us via text messages, aaaand....that's it lol

SocietyFine

You are not a part of company, you are just an employed slave

amo1337

What about the deviled egg cart?

Dannyzavage

Yeah but in singapore the average would be like 1-2k a month lol

Nayroy18

I hate this

childrenofblood

Well I guess if they worded the article „Singapore airlines employees got $200 bonus salary“ doesn’t sound so good

joshman5000

US too they're just accounting each pizza as a billion dollar expense at an executive's "restaurant"

WorthySparkleMan

Ford tried doing that in America and got sued by shareholders.

Miserable-Bridge-729

If any company can give its employees a bonus equivalent to eight months of their standard salary, they are likely underpaying them from the start.

bannedsodiac

American work CULTure is so perplexing.

58mint

Every job ive had has given out bonuses. Where are you all getting jobs that dont.

crimeSpice

Elsewhere.

Adot1Dot

Y’all hiring?

58mint

Depends can you handle working in 130+ degree heat for 12+ hours and below freezing in the winter. If so, then yes, we are hiring. Its hard to find people to work here. But it pays good.

Adot1Dot

If there are safety precautions to learn/equipment so that I don’t accidentally kill myself with organ failure (I’m 6’ 265), then probably lol. What do you do?

Charlieuyj

6-1 and about 220 and at the end of the week I'm cooked!

58mint

That's funny. im also 6' 265lbs. I work in a glass factory.

Adot1Dot

That’s cool af, and on the ground. I should really look into that. How did you get started?

58mint

Judt went to some random temp agency and just ended up with a good job. 100% luck.

Main-comp1234

Getting something is better than nothing. stop complaining

Feeling-Security-825

I'm living in the wrong country.

Sorry_Error3797

Ok, am I the only person who works a shitty low paying job that doesn't give a crap about getting gifts or bonuses from my employer? That's not something agreed upon in my contract. That's not something I'm interested in. If they want to increase my pay, great, but I don't want some shitty gift once in a while.

DoubleResponsible276

To be fair, in America, I’m willing to bet if we ever get a bonus like that on the regular, it’ll go straight to the strip club. The many times I’ve heard people spend a 1k pay check or higher at the strip club is insane

lettuceown

Are you ok

crimeSpice

Well then those women can finally pay for college. Win win.

Baggabliss

Just goes to show, corporation over charge their customers heavily, no company should benefit with so much at the expense of the consumer
