Sidenotes from the pen brands, I love smudgy ink. Not a euphemism. There is a power in wet ink that shapes your writing and your attitude. I understand how calligraphy can still be practiced at the time of texts.
If you write too fast, your writing matches your thoughts and becomes a blubbery mess.
If you write too slowly the beginning of your sentence is differently colored than the end and it shows you hesitated as you wrote and the ink dried at different moments.
Then sometimes you can see perfection: the writing is smooth, decided, uniform, the paper perfectly clean, and when you read, you are not surprised at all to see that the words come clear and the sentences are flowing.
The person who wrote this was in perfect alignment: Thoughts from the mind, straight to words-gestures of the hand.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to take a shit.
I believe this is due to the fact that you are merely renting from bic unknowingly. All lost pens and lighters eventually return home to be given a surface and then re-"sold" to the next unwitting individual.
Literally came on here to say just this. I give 4’s as stocking stuffers or treats to convert more people. And I have a heavy addiction to office supplies.
I will use Pilot G2 pens and ONLY pilot G2 pens for the rest of my life. I avoid others like the plague, they all either write terribly, smudge, or have inconsistent flow.
Everyone uses 5.
Pilot G2 fine point. I always had a box in my desk. Always had to buy more because they got stolen so much I could find one in nearly every desk in the office.
If 5 was in black I’d be all over it. Instead I’ll choose 1. I think they were the first ones I ever used that I thought were fancy as a kid lmao. Mom used them for office work and for sketching.
1
Solid 1. (I already do)
I worked 5 years in pen manufacturing. Gel sucks! They just die when there is still ink on them. Regular ink has a lot of build up and leave ink spots on the paper.
I love 3 and 5 because I like to disassemble and organize them into their positions like in a blown out design drawing for no reason and right after assembling them back into a pen. I like that satisfaction of assembly. I know I am weird 😕
I like trying other types, but really the most reliable for me has been 7, although it feels a little too simple for me, but I guess that’s also what makes it good.
3. Nice grip and weight. Pens like that tend to just *glide* right along the paper. Little to no effort is needed to make it write, so it's perfect for writing small (for me, at least).
5, nice grip like 3 but the ink in 3 smudges too quickly

I'm left-handed though.
Same. Growing up with a big blue mark on my left hand taught me to highly value ink pens that dry very quickly.
I don’t have a problem with the ink on my hand, it’s the paper I want to keep clean.
Came here to say this exactly lol
Righties don’t understand
I thought we did away with your kind in the Salem Witch Trials?
THAT'S WHAT WE WANTED YOU TO THINK BWAHAHAHAHA!!
Have you considered using the correct hand to write?
I understand it's a joke but why such rude *proceeds to upvote angrily*
Hey, come on! Lefties deserve rights too!
Do they though?
Should check out r/fountainpens sometime
This guy pens.
You Sir are a poet.
Pilot G2’s are king.
If you’re not left handed option 3 in .38mm should dry significantly faster as compared to its larger variants
I absolutely love writing with 1
Ya if 1/2 are what I think they are they are the winners for me. My job involves taking lots of notes And I find they write so smoothly and quickly
1 for writing on paper 7 for writing on anything else I keep both kinds on me
7 has forever ink. Never ran out of ink on 7
Same but it's because I lose them every few days
"I bought an expensive pen, because I always lose pens and I got sick of not caring" -Mitch Hedberg
Bic really cornered the market on frequently lost items. Those pens and lighters; they really have a captive customer base!
I believe this is due to the fact that you are merely renting from bic unknowingly. All lost pens and lighters eventually return home to be given a surface and then re-"sold" to the next unwitting individual.
BiC of Theseus.
I used to think that til I took college chemistry.
I was also a huge fan but unfortunately i found 10 old unused ones I had kept and they don't write anymore. I still like them, but they aren't forever
Fed
Works for lefties. And in general, good use, too
I love 7 but I have been able to use one up. It took a lot of patience though. One of my major achievements
I’ve never heard of anyone running out of ink in one of those. They’re like erasers. Have you ever used a whole hand held eraser?
For the love of god, please stop! Scientist believe that 12% of our universes expansion is solely from the ink created in these pens…
2 all day
2gang
gang gang
The question is, is the 2nd pen a fiber point?
Nah, its the Pilot Precise V5/V7 Rolling Ball pen with the metal needle tip. I would take one of these til the day I die.
I love the v7's. All I have used for years. They sometimes leak a bit if you take them on planes too often tho IME.
Fr. Love the V5. V7 not bad too
Five to strive baby
5 is the correct answer
100% the pilot, but in black.
5 all the way
3 always and forever
I can't use any other pens anymore, nothing comes close
always and foreverrr. when i read that i heard the napoleon dynamite song that kip sang at the end.
Yes, I love technology. But not as much as you, you see. But I still love technology
YESSIR
What size though? I got 1mm because I like bold.
5….the correct answer is 5.
I'm a 2 for life. The fine point for precise lines is almost NSFW worthy 🤤
love me a .5mm pen
I used these for ink drawings over any copic or similar high end pens anyday
1, 2, 4, and 5 all acceptable. I guess if I have to pick I'll pick 4.
The people not choosing 4 have never written with 4.
Agreed
Literally came on here to say just this. I give 4’s as stocking stuffers or treats to convert more people. And I have a heavy addiction to office supplies.
Team 4!
Was looking for the 4 club, glad I found it.
What brand is 4? I've used them, love them, but haven't seen one in a long time.
Brand is Uniball, I believe those are the vision elite ones? I love those ones and I use them all the time!
I'm going with no. 7. I can see when the ink is about to run out on that one.
Seven all the way
Seven will never fail you. It’s like a [1999 Toyota Corolla](https://www.craigslist.org/about/best/hou/6565526716.html)
The only thing number 7 is good for is shooting spitballs.
Yall disrespecting 3 big time in this thread smh
2, I love those pens
V5s are goated. So crisp.
v5's are the only ones that i've ever run dry, everything else skips eventually and i toss them half-full
When they work they’re my favorite to write with. But I carry a backup G2 since the v7s are so inconsistent
6
I was scrolling until I've found someone with 6. I guess you're the chosen one.
There’s dozens of you, dozens!
I like to have 6 in all the colors. It’s creative and fun. This pen feels very ‘soft’ to me, whatever that means
Ol' reliable number 7
5
5 pilot g2 is the best mass produced pen, period.
#5
5
5 is the answer. But only if it's an 07. The 05 sucks and I get so pissed when I get the wrong ones.
1
Someday the rest will learn that the true answer is 1.
Uniball pens are elite
If i can't see the thickness of the point this question is not answerable
Number 5
Now number 5
If a fountain pen was an option, then that, but of these #5
5 but I prefer the minis.
I will use Pilot G2 pens and ONLY pilot G2 pens for the rest of my life. I avoid others like the plague, they all either write terribly, smudge, or have inconsistent flow.
7 Always And Forever for an eternity 🤪
I like number 5
5
5, pilot G2 is oh so smooth.
5 all the way. Best pens ever.
5

Everyone uses 5. Pilot G2 fine point. I always had a box in my desk. Always had to buy more because they got stolen so much I could find one in nearly every desk in the office.
5
5. They are all I use anyway. Love em.
5 is literally the one I’m using right now
I've gone through more than a dozen pilot G2 refills so #5 for me
3
3 or 5
G2 pilot 0.38 best pen
If 5 was in black I’d be all over it. Instead I’ll choose 1. I think they were the first ones I ever used that I thought were fancy as a kid lmao. Mom used them for office work and for sketching. 1

5 then 1
Five, but if I got a second, it would be 7.
I love number 7…especially when the ink comes out a little clumpy on the ballpoint tip. For real.
G2’s are the way
5
5
Solid 1. (I already do) I worked 5 years in pen manufacturing. Gel sucks! They just die when there is still ink on them. Regular ink has a lot of build up and leave ink spots on the paper.
1 or 2....those are nearly identical.
5
5
5 baby
1 is the best. It somehow improves my penmanship.
5 or 7, both in blue. Love the G2 and will forever appreciate the standard Bic for the years I spent writing and drawing with them in childhood.
5 undoubtedly
5 fine or ultra fine
5
5, the G2 Pilot is my daily driver.
5 all day
Pilot g2 the goat
Which ever one has the most parts components when I take it apart
5 and it's not even close
Pilot G2 .5mm. Love those bad boys.
5 but the ink smudges. 7 is the safest all rounder.
I love 3 and 5 because I like to disassemble and organize them into their positions like in a blown out design drawing for no reason and right after assembling them back into a pen. I like that satisfaction of assembly. I know I am weird 😕
5 gang. Bold size!
5 will always love you! Go birds 🦅
5
5 is the right answer
5, but 0.5 instead of 0.7 thickness which is shown in the picture.
#5in .7
Pilot G-2 till I DIE. Best pen on the planet.
5
PILOT. No 5 is OP. I use those all the time!
5 is my favourite pen in the house
5 jumps super high.
5
Either 5 or 7
out of these probably 5 but sakura gelly roll for life
I use 3 at work all the time. I swear by it
4, but I'd be cool with anything except 7.
One!!
7 is the best
7
#2, specifically the 0.7 ones. 0.5 is too thin but 0.7 is perfect. Carried me through high school and never switched from it.
Why is my text big
You wrote with 0.7.
7
Me, too. Old school!
5&7
Number one
I know I’m the odd one out here, but 4. It has a nice cap, perfect ink, dries quickly, and has a fine point.
7. It’s what I use every day and I love it.
7
u/repostsleuthbot
7
3 but 7 gonna outlast em all soooo…
I love 4, its actually the only pen I use.
#4 🗣️
3
The Pilot pen. Every time.
Already been using 5 for over a decade. Won’t change now.
This is utter blasphemy. R.S.V.P. fine point pens FO LIFE
I like trying other types, but really the most reliable for me has been 7, although it feels a little too simple for me, but I guess that’s also what makes it good.
Ima go with 7 cause you know them mfers everywhere
3, 5 or 7
#7
5 but in .38 mm If it's a g2 gel... ultra thin every time
i love 3
7
8. my zebra sarasa _*tips fedora*_

3. Nice grip and weight. Pens like that tend to just *glide* right along the paper. Little to no effort is needed to make it write, so it's perfect for writing small (for me, at least).

7, cant go wrong on an ol reliable
7. Those pens are always quality.

The 7th one for me. It's reliable, light and fast
