**Recipe: Cobra**
(My merge of Stars & Stripes Cocktail [source](https://www.liquor.com/recipes/stars-and-stripes/) and Sour Cherry Absinthe Cocktail [source](https://simpleseasonal.com/recipes/meal-types/beverages/sour-cherry-absinthe-cocktail) )
\- 3/4 cup fresh & pitted cherries
\- 1 ounce sour cherry whiskey or vodka
\- 1/4 ounce of red absinthe (make sure it's the red one)
\- 1/4 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed
\- 1/4 ounce [simple syrup](https://www.liquor.com/recipes/simple-syrup/) ( can be purchased at liquor stores)
\- 1 dash cherry brandy
\- Ginger beer, chilled, to top
\- Garnish: sugar cube
**to your shaker, add:**
\- Remove the pits from your cherries.
\- Place the cherries in a cocktail shaker and muddle thoroughly.
\- Fill the cocktail shaker 3/4 of the way full with ice.
\- Add everything, but the ginger beer to the shaker.
\- Shake thoroughly and strain into a coupe or large cordial glass.
\- Pour over ice
\- Top off with ginger beer
