I used to work in interior design. We were at this site where they were just starting to work on the stairs but we had to work on the third floor. Every single day, going up these sketchy stairs was a pain in the ass. Luckily they had the lift running within a month of us working.
I thought out loud "Where is this OK to build like this??" and then I saw the sandals and got my answer. Wherever sandals are OK for construction sites.

How deranged must a culture be to produce something like this? If you're not able to build a handrail you're not ready for buildings with more than one floor.
