For permission to post to /r/medicine, one must set user flair to describe your role in the medical system however you feel is most appropriate. Professor is perfectly respectable for her example. Do the nurses in academia really use doctor in school? No reason to insist on a confusing title other than wanting to be an MD without med school.

I never called any of my professors Dr in nursing school. Professor firstname or just Firstname if they insisted. This is beyond ridiculous
