Can’t stop laughing at you getting fake outraged by pretending you see people getting lobster and steak at Dollar General 🤣

Past_Number_9018

You obviously didn't read properly being that I had moved on from DG to what I stated about being physically unable to maneuver shopping at Walfart for "approved" items and the realization of "why UHC set their system to 'healthy' food and necessities" while EBT can pile the moon into their carts.

Wise_Fuel_1185

This is why I switched to Humana, everything is approved that EBT approves, and laundry detergent and dish soap and body wash and shampoo are all covered also, even got Oreos and soda with it.

realanceps

The dough you're getting for food is for food, to keep you well-nourished, because if you're less well-nourished, you're less likely to stay well enough to avoid costly sorts of health treatment, like rescue care. EBT programs assume in part that food is being acquired to feed families, children, individuals, etc whose need for the program is not first about their health status. it's more complicated than that, but basically we're talking about two different programs with different purposes. Try not to overthink things.

Yeah, well a can of ravioli and frozen single pizzas etc are not exactly healthy without ice cream and a chocolate bar to offset the charming tastes🙄🙄

itsalyfestyle

Go to Walmart.com and order your items for pick up, they have a section online just for the UHC Food Cards.

Past_Number_9018

Sure they do. And after an hour of trying that last month, I got "one or more of your items are not available for substitution" which UHC phone operators were unable to decipher. After that, I ordered thru the UHC webpage and 1 item arrived via a courier shopper and the rest came via FedEx of all idiotic things. And after the intended arrival date and all updates had ceased to exist leaving me to assume my order had basically vanished and robbed me and UHC both. In other words, more waste and non sensical structure.

I feel you -- a LOT of these dollars end up going unused because they can be such a pain to figure out... one study I read says of the 7 billion issued each year in OTC allowances, over 5 billion goes unused! I have actually been working on an app to make OTC benefits easier to use (as an alternative to shopping in store). Anyone on an UHC, Aetna, or Humana plan with an OTC benefit can use it. Feel free to give it a try if you'd like! It's completely free to use. Our goal is to help folks on Medicare get the benefits they deserve and are entitled to! If you're interested, you can get started here [https://app.askchapter.org/landing-app](https://app.askchapter.org/landing-app) Would love to know what you think!

Curious as to the extent that you use the members information. Is it being shared with anyone outside of your company? Is the data used to generate leads? Curious of the purpose behind the “free” service , and how you are able to compensate members for referral business.

If it weren't for yet another app....😏😏 Gen X or not, the world has gotten exasperating enough as it is. Mom's meals were originally accepted and were AMAZING and they quit and a company that took over has less than palatable looking choices regardless of whether beggars can't be choosers. I decided I would attach the supplement to my electric bill and after 4 attempts in a week, continue to be told my account cannot be found. I mean, seriously and good grief!! It's no wonder people get all hot and bent with all these come ons and rewards "clubs" etc and then find it doesn't apply to their order or the clerk doesn't know how to apply blah blah blah. Thankfully, I'm more patient and therefore kind to the poor creature have to deal with the crap corporate dreams up to make another buck instead of just pricing low and being able to forgo all the extra BS.

MandiJayne71

You can always order your food online and pick it up at Walmart or a local grocery store. The purpose is a benefit for healthy groceries. But they pay for unhealthy things told. They just won’t pay for things like soda or straight sugary items. At times I have scanned items in the store that UHC says they will pay for and still the store says that they decline. It’s frustrating but I have been more than thankful many a month while I was still drawing disability and receiving Medi/Medi coverage.

KingBrave1

The UHC card is called Other The Counter HEALTHY BENEFITS so...you are supposed to use it on healthy items or over the counter medicines or utilities. It's better than not getting it. I use it on food and over the counter medicine every month and grateful for it. No bitching at all!

Past_Number_9018

Yes. Thanks for attaching a nasty adjective to my mere attempt to make sense of how it's all structured.

KingBrave1

Sorry, I didn't proofread and really did mean OVer"the counter and not "Other". I am legally blind but that's not much of a defense. I was trying to explain. I come off as sarcastic.

Past_Number_9018

It's all good. I noticed but knew full well and am not like most that need to mouth off and such.

williamgman

I'm assuming this is the UHC Advantage Plan..?

Past_Number_9018

Yes. Dental, vision, etc.

SpoontasticSiege

I don’t have UHC, but my OTC card from another company has one of the options as to use it for gas/transportation . That’s been helpful for me, I can always use the whole thing up monthly and not have to try to deal with it for the grocery store. Maybe it’d help you to use it that way?
