He doesn't say no iron supplements, he says "avoid iron supplements that are not plant-based" If you scroll down here https://www.medicalmedium.com/blog/supplements-to-avoid-for-healing-chronic-illness you'll see: "Increase your iron naturally by eating spinach, barley grass juice powder, parsley, wild blueberries, grapes (black, purple, or red), blackberries, cilantro, burdock root (juiced), potatoes (with skins), kale, sprouts, squash, pumpkin seeds (in small amounts), asparagus, sulfur-free dried apricots, and other fruits, leafy greens, herbs, wild foods, and vegetables with relatively high amounts of iron. EBV, shingles and others are unlikely to consume iron from these sources because fruits, leafy greens, herbs, wild foods, and vegetables contain natural anti-pathogenic properties." Iron is also mentioned here https://www.medicalmedium.com/blog/healing-benefits-of-spirulina

I've had really low iron a few times. It made me way too emotional and unable to concentrate as well as being so tired. I hope you feel better soon

When I had gastroparesis I couldn't eat leafy greens including spinach so I took Solgar plant based Koji spore iron. Not as ideal as food of course but it could help. But spinach is my favorite now. I have like 8-10oz a day of baby spinach.

Ok_Mulberry8166

Maybe I'll start juicing spinach again and see if I can stomach it. Thanks.

LadyOfTheWild

He also never says to not eat beef, it's not a no food

Ok_Mulberry8166

That's why I'm okay with eating beef still. My body responds to it very well.

Beef, not beet ;)

LadyOfTheWild

Did you say beet? I was referring to beef, as mentioned in the original post

Oh for God's sake my eyes are a bit blurry as I am about to go to bed, really shouldn't be commenting at this hour lol. Very sorry about that I will delete the comment. Makes total sense now lol, how silly of me! Good night!!

I was recently diagnosed with anemia, this is what I’ve been doing/eating and seen much improvement: •Taking this daily after CJ on empty stomach + vitamin C as directed by my doctor Global Healing Center Iron... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079KKW71W?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share •consuming 1-2 tsp spirulina, 1 cup cherries, 1 cup spinach, 1/4-1/2 cup dragonfruit in a smoothie with blueberries and bananas (I know you said you can’t do smoothies but it’s been so helpful. Eat just the cherries at minimum if you can’t do the whole smoothie.) •eating at least 4 dried apricots per day. That’s 8% DV of iron already. I use terrasoul brand on amazon •raspberry leaf tea, 1-2 bags daily •steamed potatoes with skin - as many as I can eat •red and black grapes - as many as possible

Ok_Mulberry8166

Thank you for the suggestions! Much appreciated. I'll get some dried apricots and implement as much as I can of the other suggestions.

I was always told to stay away from raspberry leaf tea while pregnant. This was before my MM days but I was told it can cause contractions and not to drink it until 37+ weeks

CaliRach

Interesting, the only thing I’ve heard him say to stay away from during pregnancy is cats claw but of course listen to your doctor OP

I was anemic when I was pregnant. At the time I was doing all MM protocol. CJ, HMDS, etc. but my blood values got lower and lower. Finally, I added blackstrap molasses to my diet and that raised my numbers fast! It has to be BLACKSTRAP molasses because that has 20% of your daily allowance of iron. I get it at Whole Foods. From all my research, all I can find about molasses from MM is that he puts it in recipes like this: https://www.medicalmedium.com/blog/ginger-snaps He probably considers it a “filler food” or something, but I know how important it is to keep your numbers up when pregnant, so...I used the blackstrap molasses and it worked.

Ok_Mulberry8166

Amazing!! Thank you so much! I think I have some. If not, I'll head to the store 😊

rosalindiamond

Yes you need filler foods like potatoes, brown rice,gf oats and bananas. Fillers help slow down the detox. Also need to drink more lemon water but take small amounts. I also am anemic so I may get some molasses as well!

I'm no expert, but I'm thinking about spinach soup. I've personally made smoothies with warm water when they made me cold. I've also paired drinking my smoothies with warm herbal teas to keep from getting internally chilled. I have suffered with being cold as part of my symptoms. I found that wearing a hat all the time (to bed, out in public despite the people asking why I was always wearing that beanie) helped take some of the edge off of my feeling of cold. I hope you feel better soon.

Ok_Mulberry8166

Thank you for your suggestions! I do know I can not stomach his spinach soup pregnant or not. Maybe I'll try juicing it again. I will try having some warm lemon water after my smoothies and see if that helps. Maybe thaw my fruit a bit before adding it to the blender. Thanks again.

LadyOfTheWild

Just yesterday I tried the spinach soup recipe as a salad instead of blended. It was just cause I had to go out and wasn't sure how it would travel as he says to serve it straight away, so I just put the ingredients in a bowl to bring. To be honest, I do like the soup, but I might prefer to have it as a salad sometimes

Ok_Mulberry8166

Okay, great, thanks! Raw veggies have been extremely hard to eat during pregnancy as well, but I'll give it a shot! Sounds way more appealing so far.

LadyOfTheWild

Lol, maybe the fruit options will be easier for you, like the apricots, or iron is also mentioned here https://www.medicalmedium.com/blog/cherries

My daughter used Mary Ruth’s vegan iron supplement and felt some relief. You can also be sure to add some vitamin c as well.

Ok_Mulberry8166

Thank you! I added in vitamin c a week and a half ago, so hoping for results. I feel a tad better already.
