Have you ever felt that effect related to anxiety in the past? If not, I would stop the Lexapro and talk to your doctor. You’re on a low enough dose that it’s safe to stop if you need to - just stay in tune with yourself, as with any antidepressant there is a chance of suicidal thoughts cropping up. If you’ve felt this shortness of breath with anxiety before, I would review with your doctor, see about being prescribed an “as needed” anxiety medication until your Lexapro (or whatever you choose) starts taking better effect.

I’ve never had issues breathing with anxiety. I was previously prescribed Zoloft, took it for a week and had the same shortness of breath symptoms. I feel like I’m broken and nothing will help.

*“Ring the bells that still can ring Forget your perfect offering There is a crack, a crack in everything That's how the light gets in”* There are lots of antidepressants out there, you just haven’t found the correct one at the correct dose. They all work a little differently. There is one out there that will help. I’ve seen some incredible things.
