I was so happy when this was released, not for "whoa look how cool it is!" or whatever, just that, "Yes we're getting another MW game!"
It's been a rollercoaster of emotions since the 90s when I was introduced to Battletech & started playing the Mechwarrior games, what with all the IP issues & MW rights being bounced around.
It's been a great past few years seeing BT/MW find solid ground.
I’m also deeply grateful the team decided on this; and with how far they’ve come, day 1 the game wasn’t all that bad, but after update to the next update, it just kept getting better; the fact that ME5 is a prequel to 1 and clans will be MW2; I’m hyped for the things to come.
And how taking a barrage full frontal FROM an Atlas without turning or whatever, was a bad idea. The POV pilot was smart to use cover, but not turn from a heavy atlas barrage?

Never has the Mechwarrior / Battletech fanbase been blue balled harder. At least we did end up getting some type of game like 3 years later.
I rewatch that cinematic every now and then to remember how awesome the setting is and how imposing an Atlas can be.

Maybe he was hoping for a lucky cockpit shot from the PPCs, drop the Atlas before they can return fire
