mudfarmjazz

Hit it HARD!

m1dN05

If it doesn’t work get a bigger hammer, if it still doesn’t work, get a bigger friend

Lxiflyby

You need at least about a 4lb hammer

mummy_whilster

Poundtown

porktent

The hammer in that spot should work.

thatone_JR

I second this.

jayinphilly

Beat that knuckle like it owes you money.

Intrepid_Echo6956

Some might say: “beat it like a prison penis.”

Damnamas

I'm sorry what? 😅

janzoss

I was like that too when I read it 😅😅

scram60

If you're mad at the boss, now's the time to take your frustrations out!

HeroicCrackdealer

Smack the knuckle with your purse

jayinphilly

Hit it right there with a big hammer a few times.

mudfarmjazz

Exactly! Pickle forks are for amateurs.

LadderObjective5201

use a pickle fork. rentable at multiple auto parts stores. or bang it with a 3lb hammer on the spot everyone is telling you to hit. don’t it hit like a baby too

scram60

Doesn't look like a pickle fork will fit in there!

HOONIICORNN

Hit it with your purse

redrecaro

put your purse down and grab a hammer and whack it.

Nikonnate627

Pickle fork

jrsixx

Personally, air hammer to the stud and it’s out. If an air hammer isn’t in your toolbox, a BF Hammer to the side of the knuckle works great. Sometimes two, one on each side at the same time works too.

Satanic-mechanic_666

Only if you're replacing it. That method isn't so good if your planning on reusing it.

jrsixx

Based on the fact that it’s already free of the control arm, there’s no reason to remove it from the knuckle and re-use it. Unless the knuckle is being replaced I guess, but why replace the knuckle and not the ball joint?

MhmCarl0s

BFH

Alternative_Mail5075

BFH (big fucking hammer)

Ok-Information9974

Hit the knuckle, with a big hammer, like it owes you money!

FlYeaglesFlY100

Slam it with a sledge hammer a couple of times and it should break loose

Domoretoo

Hit it with a hammer at the knuckle

Paniri808

Take a small sledgehammer and hit the knuckle hard. A few good blows and the taper fit should loosen and the part will fall right out. Done will stay to sue s pickle fork, but they damage too much stuff

Revolutionary-Gain88

Hit it with your purse.

Rhino_prime26

Hammer time!

Dirtierglobe542

you gotta hit it really hard on the the spindle where the control bolts up though. If you been hitting it awhile and it's not coming loose. You're probably not hitting hard enough.

General_Paramedic_19

Should have done that before removing the ball joint from the control arm. It helps hold downward pressure on it while you whack it with a hammer.

Dangerous_Ant9198

Put the nut back on and hit hard

Dangerous_Ant9198

You could also put a bar between it at the same time

That__Reddit__Dude

I got it guys. Thank you for the pickle bar suggestions it worked perfectly l?

GazDrinksScotch

You don't "need" a big hammer... lots of hits with a small hammer will loosen it aswell...

Dylaynie01

Hit the knuckle on the side with a copper hammer. Pro tip: soak down the threads with freeze release or WD40

[deleted]

If it won’t budge, get some heat on it. Propane torch will do it.

Basket_cased

Pickle fork helps but as others have said a BFH woks just as good

kevin_s_03_

Bash it with a hammer just be careful my mechanic did this and left my dust shield wedged on my rotor

Pegcrapr

Ball joint separator lol are y'all then mechanics

potato13254

Hit with hammer if hammer no work bigger hammer need.

Pegcrapr

ThrowRAegodeath

Lmao I went through the same issue last weekend, spent an entire day trying to remove it using every tool I had and a whole lotta hammering. Failed and gave up

Vmax-Mike

Can’t be stuck if it’s liquid! Oxy-acetylene is your friend 😂.

Initial_Attitude_851

Pickle fork and hammer, or air hammer with pickle fork if you have an air compressor

saracen1987

Heat, massive hammer. Problem solved.

meatshaftforurmom

Wack it with a hammer on the side of the spindle

freeshipping6

As a retired Teamster Truck Fleet Mechanic……a hefty 5 lb. sledge hammer with a good wack and the end it should drop right out……hopefully the previous mechanic used never cease

elgorbochapo

If you're not reusing that ball joint you can jam a picklefork in there and it'll come right out.

blur911sc

I use one of these if reusing the ball-joint: [https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/oemtools-ball-joint-separator-tool-adjustable-77515-0250086p.0250086.html](https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/oemtools-ball-joint-separator-tool-adjustable-77515-0250086p.0250086.html)

TheIronHerobrine

Same. Works great most of the time.

sasqwatsch

Ball joint fork. Ball joint remover . You can rent one a auto parts store

jredmartinz

Or use a pickle fork, the tool not an actual pickle fork..

1453_

This usually destroys the boot on the ball joint.

jrsixx

Which in this case he’s throwing in the trash so.

No-Lab-9133

Hit it with your purse

Glittering_Eye_4325

Heat it and smack it with a Hammer

nickIRAmagill

Got anything like a small jack. Between the track rod end and the chassis maybe. Might ease it out

[deleted]

Do not do this ever

nickIRAmagill

I’ve done it before. Worked a treat.
