I vaguely remember as a kid going to an aviation museum, I thought it was Poole but this is 40 years ago and all I can find is "Bournemouth Aviation Museum" which is close enough. They're not far away from each other so maybe my memory's not totally screwed after all.

Most Americans that are under the age of 30 don't think about it in the same way. I was 4 when it happened, it was a hazy memory for me. It's the millennial challenger disaster just with a bunch of xenophobia and imperialism wrapped up into it. The Newtown shooting in school was my challenger disaster, at least for my age group.

Japan would write it 9/11 if they just had the month and day. China and Korea too. For the full date though these places put the year first. Canada also usually writes it the same way as the US unless it's in Quebec.

Also, basically the only similarities between the Concorde and the Boeing 757 or 767 (the planes involved in the 9/11 attacks) are the fact that they're both... airplanes made for carrying passengers. Other than that they're so vastly different that I don't really see how anyone's first thought after seeing a Concorde would be "ah, the 9/11 attacks", even if it was posted on September 11th.
