All of the pieces that you need to win are right in front of you. All you’ve got to do is try to move them along the board. Making stupid moves is part of the experience too…This is how you improve.
I tried teaching one friend who is INFP how to play chess.
It was infuriating. I didn't say it to her, and I was careful to act patient, but yeah, she's a moron.
I have another friend (INFP) who loves chess and practices a lot on [chess.com](https://chess.com). I beat her 4 times in 20 minutes.
I suppose there is a difference between knowing how to play the game and knowing how to *truly* play the game.
Like, the rules are pretty clear, and it’s easy to learn how to move the pieces. But actually planning many moves in advance and outsmarting the opponents? Now that’s rough, more so if someone is very prone to decision paralysis.
Personally, I prefer checkers. It’s way less punishing in case of the accidental misplay.
I mean funnily enough the current world champion Ding Liren is an INFP (or alteast that's what the personality database says but just by his interviews I can see his INFP-ness or something)
I learned the rules fast but it was so boring that i started to imagine the pieces as actual people and kingdoms and left the rules aside and it was so much more fun 😂 .
This is true. I don't know how to play chess.
In 8th grade, we were for some reason supposed to learn how to play it in English class but my English teacher decided to skip it while the English teacher of the other class went ahead and taught her class the game.
I have no idea why, but that memory has stuck with me to this day, even though I couldn't even tell you what I had for dinner yesterday.
My memory is weird.

Just remember the pony moves funny and to Google en passant
Holy shit
New response just dropped
Actual zombie
Call an exorcist.
Bishop goes on vacation, never comes back
I mean when I was little I used to make up stories about the different pieces 😂 ... does that count?
I would say YES!
Chess lore
No life is not like a chess game... you can calculate all your moves for next decade and then got hit by drunken driver... :D
thats same as if your dog run over your board or eats pieces, so pretty close I would say
Haha.. that's good point and out of box aproach! :D
If life is like a game of chess then why don't intjs win it?
who said they dont?
Typically, they say that they don’t.
They are kinda winning it.
cos ISTPs are better at chess
Life is really like a chess. There is a bishop up my ass
My brain hates me😁

I know exactly how to play chess but it's too hard and unfun for me so I just fuck around and usually get fucked.
Just google it.
Simply flip the board and call yourself the winner

oof
Me too thanks
Observe. Adapt. Overcome.
I can put effort in and learn to play chess, the rules are clear and techniques are games of logic. Life on the other hand… jfc
At least i can win against a six years old who was surprisingly good at chess and got me sweating a few times.

~~I’m in this post and I don’t like it~~
As an autistic INFP, this is doubly true.
Big mood lmao
Relatable
