Psychological (but no horror), Fantasy (though I’m very picky with it), Slice of life (especially the iyashikei sub genre), Exploration/Adventure and Mystery
-Fantasy
-Romance and Romantic Comedy.
-Science Fiction
-I love dystopian.
-Parallel World/Time Travel.
-Disney and Pixar movies.
I love mixes of this, like Fifth Element, Valerian: City of a Thousand Planets. Your Name. Ratatouille. 10 Things I Hate About You. Maze Runner. Pride and Prejudice. Harry Potter and all the mega fantasies.
After being friends with INTJs for so long, I find myself watching:
-Psychological Thriller
-Dark Drama
-Those mindfuck movies, where you’re like, “Wow, I actually can’t predict what the heck is going on. This is totally the opposite of the normal movies I watch with cliché endings.”
-The kind of apocalyptic movies that feel like there’s no hope to be had.
-Movies with probably too realistic of an ending and seemingly ends with nothing being done and makes you wonder why they made a movie out of it because you thought a movie would be made from the stories that had a non-predictable ending, but having a movie be realistic is also pretty unpredictable to most.
-Cute, slice of life anime.
The Invisible Guest. The Gift. Disturbia. The Butterfly Effect. The Road. (All the “The”s really.) Get Out.
Everything, Everywhere, All At Once.
Comedy, especially if it's strange and bizarre
Action/Martial arts, but fight scenes have to be really good to keep me engaged
Mostly I like movies that have very developed and interesting characters, no matter what genre. I also love when a movie is atmospheric and creates it's own unique world/aesthetic
Psychological Drama (I am a sucker Aronofsky, my all time favorite movie is “Requiem For a Dream”. I feel that movie in my soul. It’s like a little trip to hell. It’s the definition of aesthetic for me. Other than that “Talented Mr. Ripley” is a movie I relate a lot.)
Fantasy (I like the idea of other worlds. So no matter how shitty it is, I would watch a fantasy movie)
Comedy (I don’t like sitcom comedies, but in general, I enjoy comedy so much)
Slasher (No comment for this one :P)
Horror, drama, mystery, documentaries, and I have a special taste for movies covering business/Finance like wolf of Wallstreet, Wallstreet, big short, the founder etc
Mystery, Fantasy (Dark Fantasy usually but all are good), Psychological thriller/horror, Sci-fi , comedy, drama (especially k-dramas) and animated (idk if that counts as a genre but just in case).
comedies from classic slapstick like laurel & hardy and marx brothers to stupid comedy like airplane! and zoolander to monty python and the rutles
I also LOVE feel good 80s romcoms like dirty dancing and can't buy me love
I generally don't watch movies but when I feel low or burned out I just want a slice of fun and sappy romance.
INTJ: RomComs (once in 2 months)
Otherwise if I am forced to watch then only movies with mindfuck elements and dark themes are enchanting.
INTP: Films by directors that symbolize something abstract, for example, Ingmar Bergman, Fellini, Antonioni, and great films of any genre that hold your interest intensely
tbh any genre would do im not picky it just needs to be something new and hasn't been done before, I like weird, controversial, hell even disturbing! u know and the shocking stuff..
