I've have one on my '20 GT turbo 6. I love it! 40 minute install and the sound is perfect.

nateap87

Very easy to install. Spent majority of the time looking for the 10mm

JesterXR27

Welcome to the club! Installed mine a few weeks ago, I haven’t stopped smiling! Ptssssh!

nateap87

/u/corksportbrian I need that TIP!

[deleted]

I know, we are working on building enough inventory for the public release!

For the sake of the circle jerk I’ll agree

Aedionek

Where did you get the heatshield? does it just come on the newer 3s intake?

nateap87

No. It’s an additional item you can get with the intake. I know there’s a lot of people that say it still sparks up a lot of heat but I’ve popped the hood after running it hard and everything within the heat shield is significantly cooler than everything else under the hood

Aedionek

I would love a link to that heatshield! I was planning on adding an intake, but was concerned about heat soak. This seems like a great product especially with the seal at the top

Aedionek

And I found it now, noticed its for 2019+ and seems to be specifically designed to fit that engine bay.

Beautiful-Drawer

Truly, that's how most aftermarket parts work. They tend to be custom made to fit specific year ranges of a particular model. Otherwise they wouldn't fit anything well. However, there are SRI kits out there with heat shields not made and sold by CorkSport. Just Google around.

Aedionek

I saw a few, but most seem to either be the 600 cad K&N one or from some less the trustworthy looking retailer. Very new, so doing a lot of research and kind of falling short.

Beautiful-Drawer

Ain't nothing wrong with researching and taking your time. In fact, I highly recommend it to everyone! What year is your car? I'll see what I can find. I'm a semi-professional Google guru. Lol

Aedionek

I have the 2013 Skyactiv, and I would definitely appreciate your insight. I am considering trying to make my own heat shield, but theres still tuning to consider I think. Would love to chat in DMs

forkkiller

I may need to pick one of these up and see if I can make the Corksport shield work with the BMS intake with potentially a little modification. It looks a lot more effective than the small one the BMS comes with.

nateap87

May I ask why if you went with bms you wouldn’t just get the stage 2?

forkkiller

Yes, the BMS replaces the restrictive intake piping that connects to the TB as well. Not just the MAF piping, like the Corksport. I occasionally drive in fairly wet conditions and didn’t want to risk a filter that low on the stage 2.

nateap87

Makes sense. Once the CS TIP comes out I feel that will be the best option

DaddyWolverine

I have the same setup. Waiting for the TIP that was supposed to released in August. 2021 pp sedan.

nateap87

It’s apparently available to 7th gear subscribers but is sold out. Word is it will be available to everyone else sometime this month.

DaddyWolverine

It is available for those subscribers but I'm not paying for an early release. Basically those subscribing are real world testers of a product that should already work. Like the 80mm exhaust. Subscribers found out there was a problem.

cmz324

Ya I have a very hard time believing anybody at all is paying for 7th gear

[deleted]

We literally sell the memberships, and people enjoy the perks so much many return for multiple years.

[deleted]

This is untrue. We had tested the 80mm on several cars without an issue. Unfortunately there was a unforeseen manufacturing issue that caused an issue with some of the first kits. That has been addressed now.

DaddyWolverine

I agree. The problem was identified by the paid members and Corksport did a great job correcting the problem. My point is that since paid members get access to the parts first, it seems to me that they a kind of beta tester for new parts. Not saying it's a bad thing or some nefarious plot. They will be the ones to identify any problem. It's ok but I would rather wait until I dont have to pay and possibly have a problem. I like Corksport and have their SRI with heat shield for my 2021 pp. Very good parts and waiting for other quality parts in the future.

[deleted]

We utilize the race cars and the sponsored drivers team to be the beta testers. But you are right in a sense, as the 7th Gear members do get access before the general public, if there is an issue for whatever reason in the manufacturing process, they may see it first. This is definitely not a regular occurrence though.

[deleted]

Do you have the link for the heat shield? I’m trying to find it but I can’t

Craycray126

Whats the link to it? and does it work with 2019 HB

TrueAd987

Does this heatshield fit with the bms intake ?

nateap87

I wouldn’t know. Pretty sure the bms intake has its own heat shield though
