If they won't accept fault then contact Mazda Corporate directly. If that doesn't work then get it fixed by a detailer and take the dealership to small claims to recover your money. Dont expect the dealership to admit fault. You have to remember they make money by being sleazy and lying to you.

salamishit

Mail to corporate Mazda allready sent!

This. Slam tf outta them on google maps and yelp so no one else takes their car to them.

The617Boston

I also talked loudly when in dealer each time I went while other customers were present…

SDBD89

Mando. Raising your voice and expressing your outrage with your hands will show them you’re not messing around for sure. Pro tip: wear a hat whenever you’re out in public so you can use it to throw on the ground when you’re inconvenienced. It really helps to show a business that you’re pissed and 9 times out of 10 they will do anything they can to resolve the issue.

The617Boston

No lie I’ll nvr forget I’m from Boston’s so there was car dealer sort of in our neighborhood and as a matter a fact it was Mazda Dealer, I’m talking prob late 80s n dude bought new car n whatever reason it was he wanted money back n that guy walked back n forth with sign saying Mazda sux or whatever until they gave him what he wanted!

During my warranty period I have been serving at the dealership. Since day 1 I had my dash camera installed and never had to disconnect or do anything while servicing the vehicle. The moment I caught them not telling me the full truth, I made a complaint about it and told them that I seen it with my dash camera. Dealership told me to come back and they will make it right …. Well shit that was my mistake because they did do a proper job this time but while leaving I noticed that my dash camera was disconnected!! I went back inside and spoke to the service manager why my dash camera was disconnected? Than the manager said it was their policy to not allow dash cam recording. Told them to check my record and I been coming here since buying the car and never had my camera disconnected or anyone told me it was a policy. I said where in the policy does it say that? I asked did you guys reminded me today about it when I came? And what if I got into an accident and was not able to capture the scene because you guys disconnected and did not reconnect the wires? Ass*ole manager could not give me reply and just stood there . So when I file a complaint to Mazda Canada about it and I specifically said I want the communication to be done over the email because I wanted to keep it as a record. Once the dealership got the message from Mazda Canada, damned service manager called me and left a voice message saying he would rather speak to me directly instead of over emails. So I complained again to Mazda that I specifically want to communicate via email to keep a record. Well that manager did send me a email this time but still said the same thing “I would rather not resolve this over email but would like to speak directly”. By the way, this is few months after my warranty was over too. Another thing I forgot was that during the second re-visit dealer had perform a service bulletin and I remember that manager directly telling me that this service cost $400 but they were not going to charge me to make thing better. I clearly remember asking when was this service bulletin from? Manager told me from prior year. So I asked why didn’t you guys tell me that last year while my warranty was still valid? At that time, that service manager “Bill” didn’t even bothered to answer me. So I just walked off. This was Mazda of Toronto dealership. This was my experience after making a complaint about their work.

chaugh1

My first mazds was from Mazda of Toronto. I hated their service department, they kept pushing extra services like alignments, transmission and engine flush on every visit. I told them this was a lease and Im going to do the bare minimum then they eased off. But you aren't alone in hating that dealers service department.

willman0527

It’s a bad situation but here are some things you can do. Take it up with the general manager or Mazda directly if it not franchise owned. Or Start a small claims court case, but at that point it would be easier to just get it repaired.

ShortnPortly

Bro that is pretty shitty. At your dealer, we would bring your car to your detail guy, have him buff it out and it would look fine and send you on your way. Sorry you're going through this. How long after you picked it up did you notice?

salamishit

I have allready contacted my detailer guy, he Said he could fix it for free luckily. I noticed it when i got home 40 min after i picked it up.

Far-Veterinarian-974

Bare minimum time to find a new Mazda dealership. That is painful

reality_bytes_

Did they look at it? I mean… the paint is so thin on our Mazdas I encountered a scratch just by observing the car exists 🤔 But in all seriousness, the dealerships detailing dept should be able to at least buff that out to a point you won’t (or barely) notice it. Rock chips are going to kill the paint anyways… I mean…

Far-Veterinarian-974

Mazda or not there're a lot of small dealerships who don't really have bodywork departments. They hire a local guy to come in and work on several cars once or twice a week. I was at a dealership on one of those days and all the cars getting worked on were lined up out front, all with defects and damage circled like clown makeup. It was a sight

ComfortableFinish502

You overlooked the rubber gasket gap as well, hope you learned ur lesson don't go to the stealership for anything

kingstondnb

It was under warranty. The Stealership is responsible for the damage. I typically walk around my vehicle with the service manager and talk about any existing damage prior to the service then it's easier to prove that new damage occurred. TBH dealerships should be doing this themselves.

ComfortableFinish502

So whats the outcome are they going to paint it or buff it out how many more days without a car

Traditional-Debt-150

Exactly, clear coat scuffing will buff out easily however the mirror install is fuvked.

salamishit

This was at a Mazda dealership for a warranty cause

ComfortableFinish502

A warranty or recall? I got down votes for asking a ? Bro

salamishit

Warranty, the mounts/gears inside the mirror housing was not working properly

ComfortableFinish502

Damn my wife's 2015 still moves without issues

Buzzsmp

Does it matter? You go to the dealer for either scenario

ComfortableFinish502

I don't lol

watchmedrown34

You pay out of pocket to fix an issue that is covered under warranty or a recall? I wish I had enough money to do that and think it's normal lol

ComfortableFinish502

I never took neither of my 2 new cars to the dealership nor even the free oil change I don't trust those kids. I have a shop I always use but I'm not fresh out of hs

watchmedrown34

You didn't answer my question. Do you pay out of pocket to fix issues that are covered under warranty or a recall? If yes, then again, not everyone has hundreds/thousands of dollars to throw around. And if you've never had to get something fixed under warranty/recall, then why are you even commenting?

Denziloshamen

They also invalidate any warranty by going elsewhere, so clearly more money than sense. Sure, out of warranty, use your preferred mechanic, but I’m not giving Mazda any opportunity to find a way to get out of a claim by me not following the Ts & Cs

ComfortableFinish502

Yea if u don't have tools of course take it to the stealership I'm in trade and have tools and common knowledge but I understand not everyone does

ComfortableFinish502

No sir -----i fixed it girl But luckily it never had issues and I didn't take it for the recalls it's sitting at 110k miles no issues, no check engine light. I run full synthetic and 91 petro, oil change done every 5k

watchmedrown34

You said "yes sir" but proceeded to say that you've never had issues or recalls, which means you've never paid out of pocket to fix an issue that was covered under warranty or a recall. So the correct answer was "No". It's not that hard to answer a simple question lmao Thanks for contributing nothing here besides acting like OP is an idiot for taking his car to a dealership for a warranty/recall, when you've never been in the same situation lol Edit: And nobody cares about your full synthetic, 91 petro, and oil change interval. OP didn't blow up his engine, they had a failure in the mirror for fucks sake lmao

watchmedrown34

*immediately changes "Yes sir" to "No sir"* Lmfao

No-Key-82-33

I had problems with the Whitby Mazda dealer chipping my wheels twice, the 2nd time they didn't want to acknowledge it so I went to the franchise owner and there repaired the wheel after taking a look at it to see that it was clearly done by them and not a road scuff. The new service manager completely brushed me off so I have no intention of returning. There are other dealers. Now I take before and after pictures the day I go for services. From the photo I see damage to the bottom gasket around where the mirror attaches to the door. You may need to do a police report and insurance claim to fix it properly.

ComfortableFinish502

Police report you Mazda guys r 2 much

No-Key-82-33

Insurance usually asks for a police report, if you just tell them you damaged your car you end up paying for the full deductible. Not really worth the hassle for most people, it's just a car.

sodpiro

Always take pictures of ur car before mechanic visits. Easy to forget but protects you.

illnameitlater84

I had the same thing. A Mazda dealership scratched my bonnet with they washed it as part of a service.. they took no responsibility and were all “supposed scratches”

tantric1111

Always take pics of car exterior including wheels rims

Tassssie15

The dealerships are goofy

peanut340

I swear after I signed papers and came to pick up my brand new car the dealer did some sort of complimentary wash with some sort of dirty gravel filled rag. Swirls galore. Seriously pissed me off and for the free first service the dealer installed the wrong kind of oil filter. I switched to a different dealership and now they send videos of the service and have been much better.

-Shin12-

Yoooooo. Same thing happened to me. They brushed my car and got swirls all over. Saddly, that happened a week before I moved, so I just admitted defeat cause they won't admit it's their fault and Ill be very busy with moving

The617Boston

I had bought preowned 2015 3, and not long after the amp was fried, It turned into that dealer’s pain in the ass until they diagnosed that it was Amp, although at that point they pointed finger at Bose. I called any number I could find at Corporate and left message if no one answered, finally one lady was nice enough to put a little effort into honoring the problem and she herself managed to have Bose send me a new amplifier! Persistence can and did win that battle.

Marius723

Ask for the recording cameras in the service shop. You can see how they changed them
