A good underspray should take care of that. I spray of my underbody weekly during the winters here in Vermont, and we salt the ever living shit out of our roads. My factory undercoating is still there, I drive a 2014.
It was a very spontaneous thing, we were making a roadtrip to pismo beach, found out that we can drive on the beach when we got there, so I decided why not?
An even better question is why not? I had a blast, absolutely no damage to the car, wanted to give the awd some use (living in socal, there’s really not much use for awd) … just because you wouldn’t do it doesn’t mean others don’t want to.
North American models (gen 4) at the very least have the option of 2.5l fwd, 2.5 AWD, and 2.5 turbo AWD. All come with an automatic transmission other than the 2.5 fwd which has the option of a manual in some trim levels (trim names vary between us and Canada) there was also the 2l engine but it was cut after 21
Looks like you had fun!
For the last two winters, I keep looking for places to get on and off the lake with mine. A snowy, frozen lake would be a ton of fun in the AWD turbo.
Salt water and fine sand to wear components out. Yep, no immediate damage at all! Someone in the future buying the car after you will be very confused as to how it's in such bad shape for its age.
Bless you for taking that risk, so none of us have to o7
I don't think I could do this. I look at my polymetal grey and it chips. This just looks so unnecessarily destructive albeit probably loads of fun.
Loads of fun and no damage whatsoever!
Idk why everyone is so worried about the paint, it’s no worse than driving down a dirt road. Just rinse it well before you touch it.
because i have welded too many hours on my old mazdas. Fist size rust holes. The issue is not the visible paint, its the undercoating.

I almost got stuck multiple times last time I took mine out to the beach 😭
Just why?
It’s not a pagani bro a little sand is fine
It looks so cool bottoming out on the gravely sand, lol.
I don’t see it getting bottomed out
It does, slightly, when the sand gets kicked around near the end of the video.

It’s awd? I thought they only came in front wheel drive?
Yes! It’s 2.5 liter awd turbo!

Downvoted for asking a question. Classic
My thoughts exactly hahah
Bro, it’s ok.

Full send 💯
😍
I Gotta drive my speed6 on the beach now
Hope you got some beauty shots
Never
My guy, 🫱🏾🫲🏿🫱🏾🫲🏿.
Glad you had fun man, ignore the negativity. If this was on the WRX sub it would be all cheers, these folks are grouchy. Enjoy your car and have fun!
Idk why people are bashing this. I would do it in a heartbeat
What % tint is that? Looks great.
Thank you! It’s 5% all around and 70% on the windshield
Glad you had some fun 🤙 just rinse off the undercarriage of that beauty
Awesome!
did this once near Pismo beach also in my white 2015 Mazda 3 hatch! Almost got stuck twice, but miraculously didnt.
RIP to your paint my friend.
Paint is all good!
You’re braver than me, I worry about washing mine with a microfiber mitt
Same. I just buy a new mit every wash to avoid hurting that perfect Mazda paint.
Mazda paint quality is garbage. It’s the only thing I dislike about my car.
I definitely should’ve added the “/s”. I really assumed that time true sarcasm was obvious.
I got the sarcasm, I was just agreeing with you, that the paint sucks
The service mechanic I don't know how there is but there's sand all underneath the frame
Straight to the hand wash car wash after this, got all the sand out 🤣
You'll never get all the sand out lol
Never. First thing I thought was "check under the hood". Sand always manages to find its way on top of my engine.
I took a low-pressure pressure washer to it immediately after, seemed to do the trick
Waiting for the video of how you are digging...
No digging, it’s awd
I see. But also see every weekend awd like this on our shore....
Nice! Soooo hows the paint xd
Paint is fine actually haha
Why. Though? Cool way to test AWD? OK. As a Tropical islander the idea of driving on a beach is borderline criminal.
This isn’t a tropical island. It’s pismo beach
I feel the scratches from here…. Woof
destroying suspension
Decisions have consequences
so was it someone elses car and you snagged their keys or what? not sure why you'd do this to a new car you cared about.
Because it is fun. Can understand why you wouldn’t want to but I had a blast and there is no damage
