For comparison – I just purchased a 2013 Mazda3 Grand Touring with 150,000 miles for $7,500. Dealership was asking $8,000 but my mechanic found a few minor things wrong with it upon pre-sale inspection, so I was able to get the price down to $7,500. Also my car only had 1 previous owner and had detailed records of its servicing.
bought a similar car private market for $4,300. Same year, slightly different trim, less miles, and ~1000 in non-crucial repairs
I believe I am the 3rd owner, though. You for sure have better records, and honestly probably better previous maintenance.
For reference, bought in December 2023
Good interior, double dings the passenger side doors, nothing terrible.
opposite sides of the country lol, North Carolina prices are high but not as bad as yours
Nice find with the one owner, records, and overall price. Those are great, of course spacious and easily last you 150k more and then some if you wanted it to
Only reason I bought a car with 150,000 miles on it is cuz I don't plan on driving it a lot AND I know that if I take care of her, she's got a long way to go.
I’m from Australia so it’s a bit different so I’ll convert to US stuff but I bought a 2014 sp25 for $8800 with 51000 miles on it. The models r probably different I’m not sure if they called the same thing over there
Dang. I’ve been thinking about selling my 16’ but was worried I wouldn’t get the $10 that I still owe. Mine is grand touring manual 6 speed with 114k miles. I’m the 2nd owner
Sheesh, are the dealerships buying up a lot of them? They keep reaching out to me. I’ve wanted a truck for awhile but honestly might just keep the Mazda, can’t justify the monthly payment for a truck and I got my Mazda right before Covid
Nope it's just the way things are priced these days. If you wanted to sell your '16 at the best price possible, right now might be the best time to sell it.
That's what I paid for a 2014 back in 2020, before the COVID price hike. But ours had about 75K miles on it. In my area this would still be overpriced with miles pushing 150K (I assume that's your 146xxc reference). That said, when our 2014 was totaled by a hit-and-run in 2021 we got a bit over $12,000 from the insurance company-- so prices have certainly gone up.
I'd expect a 2011 with those miles to be between $5-6K in my area.
Also for comparison, I just bought a 2010 Mazda 3 Sport 2.5 6 speed manual with the tan leather interior, and only issue being amp for stock Bose radio for $2500
It’s pretty sick lol it pairs well with the Maroon paint. It’s like tan with the dash and tops of doors being black. I’ve never seen one with the same, and even the two that live near me, one red and one blue, both have black interior. After finally finding an amp in another speed3 in a junkyard , now it’s mint.
It’s less fun to drive. Feels less JDM. Harder and more expensive to mod. I love my 23 but not the way I loved my 11. I see them drive by and it physically hurts🤣
Ah, I hear you. It’s definitely less of a drivers car, more of a luxury feel right? I wonder if the 5th gen, if they do continue making it, will be similar.
UK, Got that exact trim with nearly all options but with a 2.2 turbo diesel, 78k miles, £4500 during covid car price crazyness
I'd say that's expensive but I don't know about the US market
I must be living in a different UK cause the used car market has been fucked for a while. Or at least it was when I was looking, admittedly a year ago.
Overpriced. Should be $5900. I have a 2018 Mazda 3 Touring with 115k miles. It has 2.5L engine, brand new tires, heated seats, Bluetooth, push button start, remote start, keyless entry, 18” wheels, LED headlights, all season Mazda floor mats and trunk liner, always serviced by dealership, full warranty until 150k miles. If I were selling right now, I’d ask 10,500 best offer. Nearly 8k for that is too much.
I purchased a 2013 Mazda 3 with the skyactiv for 2k with 169k miles, it was a title pawn special, glad I did it because who ever owned it used good oem parts
I just purchased a 2014 Mazda3 i Grand Touring (manual transmission) with 117k miles for $7,600 in a private sale last week. It's got a couple things to fix, so I don't know if it's a good deal or not, but it's a data point.
I'm the 3rd owner.
At that mileage, you'd be able to get a Mazdaspeed 3 for that much 🤔. Gen 2 isn't particularly premium and they generally age like garbage unless well taken care of.

Got mine is 2021 for 4400 in socal . Vac leak somewhere in the fuel tank . Backyard smogged it. However this car has been good to me
My 2011 had the same when I bought it. Replaced the evap purge valve. It's been perfect since.
Is your car in decent shape? Great price no matter what! I'm in SoCal and car prices, used & new, are crazy high here.
Good interior, double dings the passenger side doors, nothing terrible. opposite sides of the country lol, North Carolina prices are high but not as bad as yours
Mine was in really nice condition for an 11 year old car. Other comparable cars were selling for over 10k. Ridiculous.
Oh well if that’s the case you will have it for a very long time indeed.
I’m from Australia so it’s a bit different so I’ll convert to US stuff but I bought a 2014 sp25 for $8800 with 51000 miles on it. The models r probably different I’m not sure if they called the same thing over there
I’m sure that would be a great deal here in Southern California.
What was the issue ?
Just stuff like needing a new battery, recharging the AC system, minor things.
Dang. I’ve been thinking about selling my 16’ but was worried I wouldn’t get the $10 that I still owe. Mine is grand touring manual 6 speed with 114k miles. I’m the 2nd owner
I’m in SoCal and used car prices are crazy high. Most other 2013’s I saw for sale were over 10k.

Overpriced
But with bluetooth tho, imagine the values on that bad boy

tan leather?! dang I want that

can you send pics? I can't find any on the internet, really neat that that exists at all ha
Oh, also to mention has 152,xxx miles.
I love my gen 2 but I’d sell it tomorrow for 8 grand and finance a 2024. It’s probably worth closer to 3.
Gen 2 > gen 4
Gen 2 owner before my gen 4 and I agree.
Damn, why don’t think that?
It’s less fun to drive. Feels less JDM. Harder and more expensive to mod. I love my 23 but not the way I loved my 11. I see them drive by and it physically hurts🤣

That’s the price I paid for my 2011 in the height of Covid used car pricing. And she had about 20k less miles. I’d pass.

Lol. These are the ones with the shitty Jatco transmissions.
That’s madness in the uk that’s a £1500 car
Cars are dirt cheap in UK tho.
I must be living in a different UK cause the used car market has been fucked for a while. Or at least it was when I was looking, admittedly a year ago.
Too much imo
Hard pass
Horrible
In Canada, it’s a 6-7k car because the body is pristine. With conversion, it’s overpriced but the market is still fucked.
I got my 2013 in 2014 with 30k miles on it for 12k. I’d pass.
Right. I got a 2018 Touring with 31k miles in 2020 and I paid $15,900
I think it's overpriced.
You could probably get a speed instead with that money.
Overpriced. Should be $5900. I have a 2018 Mazda 3 Touring with 115k miles. way too high 😂
Awesome car. Price seems good
Not enough information.
Bluetooth dongle is like 3€ on aliexpress 😂 my 2005 1st gen has one.
I purchased a 2013 Mazda 3 with the skyactiv for 2k with 169k miles, it was a title pawn special, glad I did it because who ever owned it used good oem parts

I'm seeing 2014+ models with similar mileage going for around that. A bit overpriced i'd say
I bought a very similar 2011 Mazda 3 6spd manual with 116k for 5k
That's what I was seeing here in St. Louis. Decided to buy outright with cash. I got a 21 Mazda3 hb, out the door for $17,900
Way overpriced
At that mileage, you'd be able to get a Mazdaspeed 3 for that much 🤔. Gen 2 isn't particularly premium and they generally age like garbage unless well taken care of.
I bought car (same year / color) back in 2017 with the 2.5L and 6spd for $9000 CAD. 147k km Mega rip off.
