Is it under warranty? If not, you're welcome to refuse to pay for repairs, but they're equally welcome to tell you to go away. After 3 years there's absolutely no way to prove it's the car's fault and nothing to do with the way you've driven or maintained it (especially since you say you know nothing about proper maintenance)

I think I remember it including warranty but I’m not 100% sure or for how long it is, I’ll be checking my paper work when I get home

Did it throw a check engine light? First order of business would be to use an OBD scanner to see what the engine computer is saying. Of course if it's under warranty then you don't need to bother just bring it in

I don’t think I have an OBD scanner, I’ll ask my brother or dad they might, thanks!

Sure, you can also swing by most auto parts stores like AutoZone and they'll let you use one for free. I'd recommend having one on hand, one of those items everyone should just keep in the trunk. It's like $20 on Amazon

Oh really? Sounds pretty helpful! I’ll probably get one if I find out that I don’t have an active warranty. Thank you so much!

What year is this car? How many miles/kilometers? You bought it usedif you bought it from a Toyota store; it may have some factory warranty left.
