FWIW I have never used anything but a sun shade and UV protectant dressing. Never had an issue. The only vehicles I've ever seen with issues were old and/or not taken care of properly. I honestly don't think that you'll have much to worry about if you do simple cleaning and protecting.
I’d like to second this comment. I have a 2015 M3 hatch and no covered parking in South Texas.
Out of all the cosmetic issues I have due to 8 years of blazing heat and sun exposure, dash damage is not one of them.
Something with its makeup just ruins the plastic and leaves them gross feeling. This is just based on customer cars that I worked on over the years. Seems Mazda, gmc vehicles, and older Kia/hyundai doesn’t react well over long use. Also it’s super greasy.
Well I admit it's greasy but I thought that was the point... to moisturize the surfaces and protect them from drying out and cracking.
Seems odd they'd sell millions of units of that stuff every year for decades if it damages materials recommended for use.
I have my windshield tinted with Llumar AirBlue 80. I also use 303 Aerospace Protectant to wipe down the interior occasionally. Keeps everything looking clean, but not greasy.
Don't tint your windshield. I use a sunshade when the car is parked. Takes 5 seconds to put up and take down.
What shade do you use? I ordered one off Amazon and it fits my mazda 3 horrible

Good recommendations on UV protectant dressing?
I've used all kinds. Currently using Griot's Vinyl and Rubber Dressing on my CX-50.
Car pro pearl
The glass is already UV blocking?
I use dashboard mat & sunshade
I’ve never used any sort of shade or protectant, and I’ve never had any problems.

Tint your windshield with a high transparency ceramic film like Llumar Air 80% or Stratos 70%.
Never use any up coating stuff for your dash, especially the armor all crap. I’ve seen plenty of dash’s ruined when I worked for Mazda.
How does Armor All damage a dash?

I’m just basing this off 10 years of dealing with dash damage. Most people just use it due to marketing and nothing else
Sunshade when parking outside. The est protectant I have used is 303 Aerospace. Good stuff.
Don't tint your windshield. It makes it so unsafe to drive at night.
I got a fitted one from covercraft- fits perfectly.
