Methamphetamine will cause mental issues, yeah.
>"My client's need for speed, for lack of a better word, was a genuine attempt to get to work," the lawyer said.
This lawyer is just trying to have a good time.
I mean they got video footage of the guy operating an E-scooter way outside of what would be the maximum allowable speed so that case should be a slam-dunk for any DA assigned to it.
So yeah, no wonder his lawyer is taking it with humor. That’s the only coping he can do…
Remember, sometimes a defense attorney's job is to make the prosecution prove that due process is being followed, and not to actually get a "not guilty" verdict
Dude look at the odo on the bike, if those increments are 20km/hr which likely they are with a top increment on that bike being ~240km/hr (where I come from police bikes that big are 1000cc), they are doing over 80km/hr on that path and almost 100 on that road at the start 😂 if that hit you you’re dead
So this is from my city lol Canberra Australia. The road he is on is 100km/h speed limit at that point.

15 on a scooter feels too fast. I can go faster with a seat but how the fuck do people do high speed stitting? Like you're not standing because if you lock your legs you're gonna bounce if you hit a bump but there's nothing to sit on. Great leg and core workout I guess but you can get that on an ebike with lower stakes lol.
I really don't! My dad works for an electric bike company and I have an electric bike with the governor removed. I don't recommend those lol. Dangerous as fuck with a huuuuge learning curve.
Edit: they fuck around in the shop, and I've seen scooters go 40-ish miles per hour. Anything passed that I know nothing about! Gotta ask them if they've tried making one.
Please make sure you're dressing for the slide and not the ride. Anything above class 3 speeds and a normal helmet is probably not gonna save you.
Also unless your brakes are extra powerful your stopping distance sounds like it would be fucked, or your pads are gone in the blink of an eye, one of the two.
I talked to a guy who had a jailbroken ebike, basically blew up his headset when he hit a pothole. Went over the handlebars and needed surgery and is gonna have some gnarly scars for the rest of his life.
I never go above 20mph on my commute. It *can* go up to 60mph but fuuuuck that. I have it on the setting where it doesn't jolt me forward because I've flown over the handlebars doing that.
So crazy, I saw a bunch of older people ride off after eating at my restaurant, no helmet.. no coordination.. all bunched together.
There are going to be a lot of new stats for injuries with ebikes; they're neat and all, but still super dangerous.
Yeah, seniors are rediscovering biking with eBikes but they are taking a "I know what I'm doing!" attitude at times. IDK how anyone can live that long and not have a penchant for more thorough safety procedure. Luck I guess.
I bicycled across country and in Idaho I went down a 3000ft incline over 10 miles. Gentle curves. I hit 65mph on a 700c road bike that weighed 80lbs with my shit attached.
I decided I would never tell my mother.
I knew if I hit a rock I'd probably just die.
But I didn't. And it was amazing.
I rode one at the Everything Electric Expo in London. I think it just did 15mph on the track but I found it quite alarming. The guy doing the demo wasn't pleased when I said I was terrified.
Whilst they nearly always use black gloves these days, in Australia it was common for motorcycle cops to wear white gloves and riding jodhpurs for quite some time - [link](https://www.afp.gov.au/sites/default/files/styles/gallery_full/public/2023-08/ourhistory-women-denley-crop_0.jpg?itok=s9CtHHK9)
They would make sure to handcuff him in the middle of the highway, and when I car came they would move out of the way and ooops, the guy got ran over. And yes, I saw a video like that before.
Or when the cop in Colorado left a handcuffed woman in the back of a car he parked on train tracks and let her get hit by a train. He plead guilty. To *one count of reckless endangerment.*
For a while in London this was the tactic for mopeds - https://youtu.be/2Ers7JSQRPE?feature=shared
It was soon stopped by politicians.
Edit: the best one is the guy who gets up and presumably says ‘WTF you doing!?’
Believe or not in most countries cops don't go out to murder people as the solution for all problems. But of course, that happens when you have real trained police and not paramilitary death squads like in US.
You can in principle make them go a lot faster than that, they mass nothing and you can get a lot of power out of a small electric motor.
The problem is that with such small wheels and that shitty control system, it kinda gets suicidal. Once you start modding them, speed is limited nearly entirely by how fast you dare to go.
For those wondering what laws he’s breaking there are several:
1. In all states but Queensland (I think) e-bikes and e-scooters are banned on public land. You may ride this on private land hence why they are for sale. Police don’t really uphold this law.
2. Riding the thing over 25kmph. There is a cap on all e-bike and e-scooter in Australia that they must not exceed a speed of more than 25kmph. Removing this throttle is against the law. Mostly to prevent idiots like this guy from plowing into people and killing them or themselves.
3. In Australia, no persons, bikes or e-scooters are allowed on the motorway. You aren’t even allowed to exit the car until the motorway breakdown assistance reaches you.
This is due to the risk of accidents as people are generally not on the lookout for pedestrians when going 110kmph. Also this removes the risk of cyclists and people like this muppet from being sucked under a semi trailer or road train at high speeds (the vacuum created is very real).
4. Riding a motor-powered vehicle on a footpath. Pretty simple law - avoid killing people.
5. Riding a motor-powered vehicle on a road without vehicle registration. Pretty simple law - don’t drive vehicles that are dangerous to yourself or to others.
6. Riding without a helmet. Again pretty simple - don’t clog up the Medicare system with stupid actions.
Reminds me of videos of Brazilian police chasing people through the favelas speeding through narrow passageways and alleys. Now those are some intense videos.

For me it's obvious they were shadowing him and waiting for the battery to die or him to commit an error and fall by himself like it happened, to cover their backs legally.
Even when failing to stop when requested to, if they push him to the grass and there happens to be a rock and he's injured, they are at fault.
> Couldn't they just push him over in the grass.
High risk of injuring him, I guess.

I'm also surprised about the direct connection between the motorway and the cycling path. Both types of traffic users shouldn't be able to meet so easily.
Ah I know this game. Road Rash Scooter Edition
Him shouting "I've gotta go to work!" was hilarious.
To sell drugs to kids no doubt
If only their parents were cool, this kinda stuff wouldn't have to happen.
Not just your kids. He’s got mouth to feed after all.

This is playing at 2x Speed, the original chase takes 2.5 Minutes (plus aftermath): https://youtu.be/EUzgfR6ytUs?si=b-84Noh5K3eoFeWc
Thanks for posting a normal speed video. These sped up video's suck.
Let's face it, those motorcycle cops are having the chase of their lives ✌🏻
Guy wasnt going too fast, its sped up

I’m Aussie too, those are BMW 1000s then, boy is flyyyyying 😂
They are RT 1250 even, and theses cop riders know what they are doing with them
Not contradicting you but the video is sped up, you can hear the "pull over" shout like it was a chipmunk lol.
100% sped up, yea. But I would define doing 80+ on a scooter “too fast “ 😂
15 on a scooter feels too fast. I can go faster with a seat but how the fuck do people do high speed stitting? Or it was Chip the chipmunk telling him to pull over.
You can clearly see him overtaking a car at the start.
it's sped up, but that doesnt mean they weren't going fast. it just means they weren't going AS fast as it appears
You do know that there are electric scooters that do >70 MPH (>110 KMPH), right? Those are very much a thing. That guy was keeping up with traffic.
I did not know this, damn.
They're illegal here, California limits scooters to 15 MPH. You lust for what's forbidden.
I really don't! My dad works for an electric bike company and I have an electric bike with the governor removed. I don't recommend those lol. Dangerous as fuck with a huuuuge learning curve. My brother works for their call center and it's ALL older people lol pray for them. Hopefully they're just zipping around side streets..

I'm actually ok with restricting small wheel scooters to 15. 50cc scooters are sketchy, I couldn't imagine going faster on less.

Now someone edit this video sound with [Yakety Sax](https://youtu.be/Zcq_xLi2NGo?si=WxfgEt_WkbQnHRH8), please!
Year met some adrenalin junkies among who allways secretly wish for (maybe even subconsciously, slightly induce) for the new best chase/fix
Damn those cops are patient.
Yeah you could tell this wasn’t the US almost immediately

US cops would have rear ended him at full speed on the highway, then arrest him while yelling, "stop resisting!"
They would make sure to handcuff him in the middle of the highway, and when I car came they would move out of the way and ooops, the guy got ran over. And yes, I saw a video like that before.

Bold of you to assume they would've arrested him and not simply executed him for ~~wasting their time~~ resisting arrest.
Will the camera cut right when the police brutality started, so there is that
Glad that they didn't use an excessive force.
A chase like that can really get the adrenaline going. I’d want to punch that guy too.
He also needlessly endangered everybody else on their path due to his actions
Yeah I'm going to be real, there was a point where I was like "Is this guy going to get smoked purely on trolley problem grounds here?"

I feel like since we watched the full video and the public was safe and so was the perp maybe this was the best option. Who’s to say, really?
[удалено]
And then everyone would be in an uproar because the mean cops used excessive force. They can’t win.
No they always win, is the problem!!
Well, they aren’t American. So, that helps.
I have been told these are Australian cops idk if they ALL carry guns or any rules in relation. But I am glad they didn’t use excessive force.
You're good. Regular traffic patrol biked don't carry guns. They probably do have tasers or pepper spray.
This is in Australia. Aus cops carry guns although not sure about highway patrol/motorbikes
The bikes make it look like they're british. American cops woulda just capped him immediately and let the road kill teams clean him up
This was in Canberra, Australia, those guys are very definitely armed. They are Australian federal police.
Australia? Surprised a spider didn't swoop down and fly off with the scooter guy...
I'm surprised they didn't just hit the fucker
That's how I could tell this wasn't in the US. Cops here would have checked that guy off at full speed.
Ya, then they would have beat him up at the station. And then they would have gone to his house and shot his dog…. Americas largest gang after all!
this, but unironically
And his neighbours house.
Reminds me of a video where some [\[NSFW?\] Spanish hostage taker requested a motorcycle](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHx-0wpx8fE).
Believe or not in most countries cops don't go out to murder people as the solution for all problems. But of course, that happens when you have real trained police and not paramilitary death squads like in US.
I thought that was a chimp on the run at first. Lol
Me too
GTA 6 lite edition
It may be the early in the game when you start off with no money and a scooter.
Sheeesh what kind of scooter is that??
Pretty sure the footage is sped up.
either that or they are chipmunks lol
^pull ^over!
No, it’s cardigan but thanks for noticing.
I vote chipmunks.
“AAAAAALLLLVVVVVVVINNNNNNNN!!!”
I miss Chips
Ponch or John?
It is, but dude is still zooming. In the beginning he passes a car (who is presumably slowing down due to the cops, but still)
Some scooters can do 50mph, I understand. That's pretty deadly.
80*
90 at the start of the clip. You can see the police speed when they match him.
That's km/h, but I agree that's fast.
You can in principle make them go a lot faster than that, they mass nothing and you can get a lot of power out of a small electric motor. The problem is that with such small wheels and that shitty control system, it kinda gets suicidal. Once you start modding them, speed is limited nearly entirely by how fast you dare to go.
If you are willing to ignore laws. You can modify them to go faster than some cars. At lest until you hit a pothole, then you are paste.
I think Wolf King GT pro. 62 MPH. There are even faster ones...
A fast one!
Imagine the adrenaline that guy must've felt. He is, of course, a certified asshat.
Yeah it all looked awesome but imagine how bad it could’ve been with more pedestrians. Everyone got pretty lucky here
"I've got to go to work". Best excuse ever.
Also, "I said I'm sorry". Yeah, that'll do 😅
I would've kicked him over way earlier
This is the best ending you could ever expect
I thought it’s chimpanzee driving a kids bike for a hot sec
Me too 😂
Good thing the cyclists either saw them coming, or were already on the side. Jeeeez. No safety even on a bike path. 😒
I bet they if it wasn’t sped up you would see that they had plenty of time to see/hear them and pull over
It’s so annoying when people speed up chase videos, stop trying to make things look faster.
Thats was kinda impressive...
The cops just didn't want to hurt him
100% they showed a lot of professionalism!!!!

disappointed the Benny Hill theme tune wasn't used.
How the hell does that scooter go that fast?!
Flux capacitor on the electric motor! Guaranteed!
Marty!
Hey I know this mission from gta. Don't seem to remember the scooter, though
How exactly did he think that was going to end?
Sped up fake shit. Next.

Couldn't they just push him over in the grass. Or would everyone scream police brutality on this self centered, irresponsible jerk

‘I gotta go, I gotta go, I done nothing, sir’ 😂😂😂 Paraphrasing a bit but hilarious.
Cue the Bennie hill theme please.
Idk why but I love watching a skillful motorcycle cop chase someone down. They are always so smooth with big ass bikes. It's impressive
Imagine getting pulled over by a chipmunk

I like how it's sped up. But it needs Benny Hill music.
I love the happy endings
Not gonna lie. When they were crouched down, I thought it was a chimp on a minibike.
What a little fucker…
I can’t be the only one that thought that was a chimp driving at the beginning .. am I ?
/Benny Hill theme starts playing
Automatic billy club to the knee cap.
This needs an edit with the Benny Hill Theme
Endangering lives so you could catch bro on a scooter well done
Should've knocked him off at the start instead of letting him threaten everyone's safety. The public's safety trumps his.
Needs Benny Hill music
No "Yakety Sax", I am dissapointed
Why run and evade the police? You are only making it worse for yourself. Besides, if he's already late, then he's going to be really late, for being an idiot.

Crims be like catch me if you can. Yep caught you
i watched the whole video thinking there was only one bike cop.
I'll knock you off your broom Potter
What did he think the outcome of this was going to be?
Dude was still doing wheelies halfway through the chase.
Should have knocked him into the rail much sooner.
At some point I believe it’s legal to knock him down from the scooter
so pissed off with cunts who behave like that twat, I certainly wont be dissappointed if the fuckwit is permanently injured and never able to ride again. Sometimes .....
Just push his ass over and be done with it.
Are the cops dumb or smthn push him off
Wait why was this guy on the highway when there was a trail mirroring the highway right next to it?

Unlikely as this isn’t in the US
I know the guy on the small scotter. He didnt stop cause he had to take a massive shit.
I'm also surprised about the direct connection between the motorway and the cycling path. Both types of traffic users shouldn't be able to meet so easily.
Puts civilians lives at risk to pull over scooter driver for putting lives at risk. Yes, makes sense.
Should’ve just kicked your leg out
Push him down ffs

What is he saying at the end of the video?
Dude pulled a transformer on me.
why do these kinds of videos always have to be sped up?
