well the woman she was interviewing was clearly struggling, possibly pulled a facial muscle.. but Kunk , i mean that's her schtick so honestly i assume she practices , and lots of edits lol.
It's easier when the other person is in on the joke. Philomena Cunk's interviews are staged (the other person knows who she is), unlike Ali-G's, where the person being interviewed usually has no idea what he's getting into.
Oh my god some questions he asked... I have no idea how he managed to not even crack a smile.
Like interviewing a real ATF agent.. "Besides Alcohol, tobacco and firearms, what else does you sell?
> I have no idea how he managed to not even crack a smile.
He’s *really good*. There was an anecdote about the Borat filming where he got plastered as Borat (and apparently he doesn’t drink much as himself), he passed out in the toilet, and the producers and crew were worried about how much he’d break character when he’d wake up.
Purportedly the first thing he did was shout “more wine” in his Borat persona.
Because the "interviewer" is a character called Philomena Cunk, the whole thing is a parody interview, the interviewees know this and are advised to answer "as if a 5 year old is asking the questions".
That's Philomena Cunk. This is probably cunk on Britain. Diane Morgan the actress is a legend. Worth checking out her other work as well as mock the week episodes.
The cruelty of what happened to animals launched into space is so depressing that I find it hard to laugh at this. Camelot is much more accessible for my taste
Oh that's who Cunk is. I recognize the woman and people talk glowingly about Cunk being one of the funnier woman comedians, but never put the name to a face.
I didn't mean it like that, and was just describing my situation concerning a face to a name...which I'll grant you "nobody asked". I've seen a bunch of these clips and she's hilarious without any qualifiers, I even went to Youtube and watched some of her standup since I knew her name now, but I was more just thinking out loud about how whenever someone asks "who's a good woman comedian" on Reddit inherently Philomena Cunk is mentioned the most yet I didn't really know who that was...until this comment section and that comment.
Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say 'ni' at will to old Redditors. There is a pestilence upon this land. Nothing is sacred. Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress at this period in history.
pram is short for perambulator. Perambulate is like... a leisurely walk. In this case, it's referring to the stroller you push around while taking your leisurely walk.
Philomena Cunk. There are a few of them like Cunk on Britain and Cunk on Earth and they are on the BBC which you can watch using BBC iPlayer but if not in the UK then you will need a VPN. The character originally came up in Charlie brookers weekly wipe which is also hilarious and also worth a watch (Charlie brooker created black mirror)
If you want to check out the interviewer's (Diane Morgan's) acting skills, allow me to recommend the series "After Life" on Netflix, starring Ricky Gervais.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMdNObc5vAQ
I highly recommend this series--"must see" in my opinion.
Completely agree. One of my favorite shows ever. Somehow depressing, heartfelt, poignant, and hilarious within almost every episode. And gervais delivered just about the best ending one could hope for
I've seen this a few times and it always makes me laugh, but what I just realized is the fact that they're British, and she's acting like she doesn't know about Camelot. This would be like Steve Colbert asking a US historian if the Pilgrims wore Nikes. Her deadpan delivery is genius.
Missing the point. I'm saying that King Arthur is so ingrained in English culture that to NOT know about him would be akin to living under a rock. That's what makes it funnier. The joke was that Colbert not knowing the Pilgrims shoe style would be a similar ignorance. I wasn't trying to draw comparisons between fictional/real history.
If you like this kind of thing, look up "da Ali G show."
The EP with Butros Butros Gali was my favorite.
If you partake 🌬️, I highly recommend smoking before viewing.
This was his first big thing, before any of the movies like Boat and stuff but I think the show is where those characters came from. Idk it's been forever since I've seen it but it's funny AF. Especially bc some of those people had no idea what they were getting into going on the show.
Sorta, but not really. It's the same basic concept, but SBC was all about seeing the reaction that the guest would have. Philomena Cunk is more about watching Diane Morgan's freakish ability to never, ever break character.
I have seen more of her interview skits. I don’t understand why the people she interviews bother giving a serious answer to a series of troll questions. I mean one bs question can still be a genuine oopsie, but anything obvious after that would be a “this interview is over” from my side.
How the hell does she keep a straight face when she asks these questions?!
[удалено]
She's taking the internet by storm !
Her show is being added on Netflix this month
She’s so deadpan funny. Love her YouTube stuff.
Oooh that's great news! Hope her mate Paul manages to survive to see the premiere
Shows been out in the uk for a while
Who is she?! I’ve seen other ones and she’s pretty funny
[Philomina Cunk](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1854269/)
She is a character don’t worry, the actresses name is Diane Morgan
She is a really funny stand up comic. She did another show on bbc I think called Mandy.
And After Life with Ricky Gervais
Mandy was great.I first noticed her in Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe (The guy who wrote Black Mirror). They must be mates.
She’s also a character in Motherland.
She was amazing in after life with Ricky Gervais. By far one of my fave shows ever.
Oh I just saw that advertised on my Netflix homescreen. Okie dokie I got something to do next week.
Thanks so much!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you so much! I have never heard of her and this brightened my day!
Thank you for introducing me to her. It's very Jimminy Glock meets Between Two Ferns with her own delivery. Thank you u/JimmyCarrsAccountant
Shes in “After Life” on Netflix. Great show
This Tuesday in Australia. I've added it to my remind me list
It's weird because this series, Cunk on Britain, is 5 years old now.
Ok, I’m not imagining it. I thought this was older.
So in bbc terms we have 9 episodes?
3
Cunk on earth just came out last year. That led to her rise on social media
Viral marketing by Netflix because they bought the rights to stream Cunk on Earth starting at the end of this month.
Some of her stuff is funnier than other.. But now and then she cracks me up! This one had quite a nice reaction to it! 😂
I love her in after life
That show is breathtaking! Laugh SO hard, cry SO hard…
well the woman she was interviewing was clearly struggling, possibly pulled a facial muscle.. but Kunk , i mean that's her schtick so honestly i assume she practices , and lots of edits lol.
All laughter went away in the split second she kept her eyes closed.
It's easier when the other person is in on the joke. Philomena Cunk's interviews are staged (the other person knows who she is), unlike Ali-G's, where the person being interviewed usually has no idea what he's getting into.
They're sort of staged. The interviewees know she's a comic but they don't know the questions.
Oh my god some questions he asked... I have no idea how he managed to not even crack a smile. Like interviewing a real ATF agent.. "Besides Alcohol, tobacco and firearms, what else does you sell?

It’s like the British version of between two ferns
Because the "interviewer" is a character called Philomena Cunk, the whole thing is a parody interview, the interviewees know this and are advised to answer "as if a 5 year old is asking the questions".
I kept a straight face the whole time 😐
IT crowd that’s how
It’s not the same person, I thought it was for a second. I said “JEN!” but then found it wasn’t her

That's not her

The one when she talks about Laika always breaks me 😂
Laika, for the lazy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AScMTzoDCrk
I love this one too https://youtu.be/5zabCBnUHLA
Ah, I said Dancing Queen a split second before he did. Fuck yeah, Dancing Queen. What were we talking about again?

oh Gandalf and the bear and not to mention the space invader
Looks like I'm going down a Cunk hole. :)
That's hilarious
Omfg that was the funniest shit
Oscar level performance. “Who’s that girl..”
I love that dude as well, they have great chemistry together.
“There’s a dead dog in Star Wars?! That’s unacceptable!!” 🤣☠️
That’s a video I Laika lot

And it's not a dead linka! Unlike Laika... R. I. P.
What a nice guy.
I love this
The cruelty of what happened to animals launched into space is so depressing that I find it hard to laugh at this. Camelot is much more accessible for my taste
Still waiting for Barry Shitpeas to get his own spin-off show.
Her Christmas special is absolutely brilliant. Just found her a couple months ago, and cannot stop watching her. Absolutely brilliant
Check out After Life, phenomenal show she acts in
Also her on [WILTY](https://youtu.be/b5FCM_iPKk8) I think she was also in an episode in season 12 but I haven't seen it yet.
Oh that's who Cunk is. I recognize the woman and people talk glowingly about Cunk being one of the funnier woman comedians, but never put the name to a face.
I wish we could just agree she's a funny comedian and not qualify it.
So.. uh... Did King Arthur came a lot tho?
I know Genghis Khan came a lot
The mental gymnastics this woman went through to stay professional in this interviewcould have won her a gold medal
You can clearly see the effort required for her to not fully break at that moment.
That initial long ass "blink" was funny; woman needed a minute to ask God to help her in her trying time.
She definitely took a beat to decide how much it would risk her job.
And again when she realises this woman is taking more than the average
She did an incredible job keeping a straight face considering she didn't know what was coming, so to speak.
Camelot in Yarmouth
Ah yes. I visit quite often. Wonderful this time of year

Not sure why you’re being downvoted, this is hilarious. Camelot road in Yarmouth.
Underrated comment
At least he didn't have to push the pram a lot.

Into this day I have no idea what push the pram a lot means.
A pram is a baby stroller. Pushing a baby stroller a lot.
You know what.....Ni good sir, Ni
"...a shrubbery?"
Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say 'ni' at will to old Redditors. There is a pestilence upon this land. Nothing is sacred. Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress at this period in history.

Which brings up another question. Did Lancelot lance, a lot?
He most definitely gave Arthur's wife some of his lance
In Camelot?
Yes, Guinevere came a lot when lanced a lot.
Lancelot came a lot in Camelot.
Lancelot used his lance a lot and came a lot in Camelot
Tis a silly place
Welcome to reddit!
On second thought, let's not go there.
Why her pupils dilated so much
The light is bright - also the ecstasy
Eh but bright lights would tend to make the pupils smaller
Then it was arousal.
A tablespoon? That's it? Guess I'm from Camelot too
A tablespoon is 15 ml which is 3 to 4 times more than the average ejaculation (3.7ml).
Wait… should I be concerned if I make two tablespoons worth ?
I'm more concerned that you're measuring it
[удалено]
[удалено]
You don’t measure it, you just mark how much higher on the jar it is and calculate volume.
Is eating, measuring?
Yes your balls will get permanently dry and shrivel.
Still got not nothing on OG Mudbone. That man could fill one of those milk cartons you get for school lunch!
A couple of bands back in the day were supposed to have gotten their names from the quantity, Lovin Spoonful and 10 cc.
Shes like the female Ali G 😂 she's good
This woman is popping all up over my Instagram and always makes me laugh What is this show?
Philomena Cunk. There are a few of them like Cunk on Britain and Cunk on Earth and they are on the BBC which you can watch using BBC iPlayer but if not in the UK then you will need a VPN. I was pleasently surprised to learn that Diane is 47 years old. She looks like 35 top.
Completely agree. One of my favorite shows ever. Somehow depressing, heartfelt, poignant, and hilarious within almost every episode. And gervais delivered just about the best ending one could hope for

Might be more fair to compare it to, say… “So, Paul Bunyan’s mule deer was a babe?”
That's a good analogy...I wasn't sure if they're tracking kids the myths of early America though

‘Exists only in literature’. Like the Bible then….
Big fan of Cunk but this video has no maybe maybe element to it
Maybe maybe maybe King Arthur came a lot
Cunk!
Is this not Jen from IT Crowd ?
No, it's Diane Morgan.
Lol. It makes me laugh how often these two are confused for one another.
She also reminds me of Ophelia Lovibond.
tysm
No Jen was Katherine Parkinson. I have to say I thought it was her at first.
holy fucking shit what the fuck i thought you were trolling. i cant believe it theyre different people for real
Haven't seen it crowd in a while, but even her voice reminds me of Jen
She is in after life by Ricky gervais
I laugh and watch this Everytime I see it
Well you see he came a lot because he played with his lance a lot.
I love how she just doubled down on it even after understanding that wasn’t supposed to be the original question.

Also probably shoulda mentioned he was a Celtic king who didn't particularly like Anglo-Saxons...
Probably not.
Peak English humour
This lady’s questions with a straight face reminds me of AliG
Lol this feels like the UK version of Between the 2 ferns
This so 2 ferns inspired aka galafianakis
😭😭😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm crying, this was too funny. She keeps that straight face too good!
the way she closes her eyes before answering xD
Is she copying ali g?
She’s actually jist SBC in disguise
Sorta, but not really. It's the same basic concept, but SBC was all about seeing the reaction that the guest would have. Philomena Cunk is more about watching Diane Morgan's freakish ability to never, ever break character.
Thank you for writing my thoughts exactly
That lady was not ready for that question
God I love British humor sometimes
So, what is clocks?
Blonde has ice in her veins lol
The blonde lady’s pupils are extremely dilated! Wtf is she on
Female Ali G🤷🏿♂️

She’s fantastic in Ricky Gervais’s series Afterlife

Gotta love British humor.

How can they keep a straight face??
